@Dracul0Anderson Same here, like the NASA lifting bodies, but almost all real-life concepts and prototypes have either some kind of lift or stabilizers. Even helicopters, if I understand correctly, generate lift and thrust simultaneously via rotorblade. This is literally just an engine and a gyroscope lol
This will be my first of several aircraft that I will consider part of my 100k special. Thank you guys for everything, let us continue flying onward- with or without wings!
@TheMouse Well, yes, it's both
CoM usually needs to be extremely or at least considerably close to the front of the CoL for PSM planes, but I still found it quite difficult to make PSM planes work properly with high-lift wings even when the CoM is reasonably close to the CoL. My best guess for this is because PSM occurs when the wing stalls, which is a little difficult to do when the wings generate 3 times more lift than usually, essentially making the plane almost stall resistant: the last thing you want when making a post STALL maneuvering plane!
Though you're right on the last part, SP stall physics aren't perfect, so maybe this isn't the case and I'm a noob at making PSM aircraft lol (which is also true, I genuinely have not made a 100% satisfactory PSM aircraft to this day, closest I've gotten is Vector). But at least in theory, this should be somewhat true. I'll have to do more tests eventually.
Also I might know how to spawn multiple without them turning on each other: attach a bunch of pieces to a detacher that will auto-disconnect, if there's enough pieces on the detacher, this will make the system count the aircraft as critically damaged and thus undetectable, allowing for flawless swarms. May also be helpful for denying missile locks, not a problem for a WWII-esque bomber
@JSTQ
Short story: Finna lost it
Long story: I was testing a new aircraft I'm making agains the McDonnell Type B V/STOL in a dogfight. The new aircraft won. But the V/STOL, while losing its wings, still retained its gyroscope and VTOL engines. This enlightened me: if a plane can fly after losing its wings thanks to an engine and gyroscope, then why not make a plane intended to fly like that? Thus you have this monstrosity.
A long time ago, I asked Kelly Johnson for advice. He simply stated his favorite acronym: KISS, Keep it stupid, stupid. Needless to say, I took that to heart, and kept it stupid, because you can either be smart enough to make a plane fly, or dumb enough to make the ground disown your craft 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
@ComradeBazookaBall Yes, we will be seeing them soon more than likely! Right now they're in transit to Yeager, or Bandit depending on how aggressively the SCOURGE targets homebase.

@Kav Is quite fitting since we also had the Thunderjet around the same time
@Erc90F4RU Thank you! :D

FT Bombers are so fun, we need more ngl

@Boeing727200F Not exactly, but you're getting there...
@Boeing727200F All will be revealed soon...
I'll give you a hint though: it's terrifying how little XML modding was used
@Graingy We can probably launch it from an A-40D lol
@Graingy Well, we've arrived :D
Also fair point, we must have a battle of the abominations between Chaos and this
@Graingy Quite the opposite, we have plenty of propulsion, but absolutely no lift at all
