Next I will start with primary shapes, a box, or cylinder or plane, which I conform and add lines to and slowly build up the final shape from the least amount of lines possible. Once the silhouette is correct I can start adding details like windows and doors and some panels, which I cut into the surface. And, finally, I add the small parts, like door handles, aerials, and lights. The main difficulty was trying to keep the polycount as low as possible while also making sure all the curved surfaces were curved enough.

"The call of the void" already manifested in the last game, and that's mounting four cockpits to a jet engine + fuel tank and aiming them straight up. That said, I do wonder how high altitudes will be handled... Has anything been said on that front? Will the sky turn black? Will there be a curvature effect on the horizon?

Make a low-security email (Gravatar isn't very secure), make an account for Gravatar, and make the email your SP account uses the same as the one you used for Gravatar. Make your SP account use Gravatar (checkbox in the account settings page, where email select is) and it should be connected. May take a moment to update. After that whatever your PFP is on Gravatar will be your SP PFP.
My biggest concern is if it will be successful outside the SP community.
While an influx of completely new users could cause problems for the community (people not respecting site rules, formal and informal), it is likely necessary for Jundroo to sustain their operations.
Some users, like LunarEclipseSP, have talked about a lack of YouTube content for SimplePlanes. I don't think this is a problem for the community, which is here regardless, so much as it is for the game; a lack of YouTube prominence would severely limit how many people see this niche product.

A suggestion I have for mirroring (alongside retaining an old-style button) would be something to show what the other part has for a value. I assume that, if in the gif, wheel size were altered while set to mirror mode both sides would suddenly snap to the same. I reckon it’d be good to show in parenthesis what the other side is at (I.e. 70% (100%) & 100% (70%)). I’m also reminded of how fuselage slicing will display the in-between value (I.e. between 100% and 50% it’ll be something like 75% displayed) which is neither correct nor allows you to change it while connected seeing as both parts will suddenly share the same slice.

The undo history looks very useful. While this will probably be bad for RAM, having to save vastly more craft files while playing, I’ll at least be able to know when I accidentally judged a part hundreds (or was it hundreds of thousands?) of kilometres forward causing my craft to shift backwards into the endless void, forcing me to undo until that step is gone.

Currently the editor has a tiny render distance and doesn’t let you move the camera out very far at all. While this was fine in SP’s block and panel days, that era is long gone and this simply is not adequate. Frankly I’d consider this one of SP’s biggest faults.

That’s great if you’re doing replicas, but not quite as useful for original works. That being said, being able to compare to the silhouettes of existing aircraft can be helpful.
