Yes, internet points drop if you remove the upvote, I lost internet points a couple of times, internet points are also lost if the post is deleted by the moderator.

I'm not sure unfortunately, since i've never experienced at removing my upvotes to some people but, my guess is that your points will still be the same exact quantity even though if someone removed their upvotes to you.
Quick Rant:
You might not remember what happened here but, last time i removed my post from forum here due to its mess of my comments i got and it's about me being upset at that 10-years-old kid user who were harassing everyone (including me) and i wasn't even mad, nor disappointed, just.. worried and then one hour later, i had gotten some upvotes i didn't ask for it and some comments i got were either positive or neutral. Furthermore, after i removed my previous post about it, my points are somehow still there even though i have had removed it.

iirc I once upvoted all my stuff with an alt a few years back, I unupvoted all of them after some backlash and dropped from silver to bronze
