@urlocalgorillawithaspork I made the screenshots on two separate mod maps: Forest demo by Kennneth and Normandy by MisterT (the latter only works if you set the game version back to the 1.12 beta in steam)
Some players probably won't be able to buy SP2 on day one and will stick with SP1 for some time so I think you'll be fine making another mod for SP1, go for it!:)
Joining to the others before me: even if you leave, don't delete your account. Our accounts all serve as libraries of all our builds, if you delete yours just because you wanna leave, you are essentially burning down your library and denying people from being able to play with your builds in the future. So many older players made this mistake and now their builds are essentially lost media, don't make the same mistake. Just add a part in your bio that says something like "Im inactive, dont expect to reply to your comments" or something like that with your own words, and than leave it at that.
@LunarEclipseSP Thank you!:) Im hesitant about releasing it because I just feel like it's not perfect enough lmao I've built about 3-4 islands throughout the years but none of them got released for this same reason. I'll think about releasing this one, maybe it doesn't have to be perfect, just good enough
Aside from the meme tag part (some clueless users will certainly misuse it and post random memes not related to the game at all) I agree with all of them. For the thumbnail part, I think we should have a dedicated team of users who need to manually approve thumbnail changes (similar to how the curators work) to avoid abuse (the max two edits limitation you suggested wouldn't prevent this, but if we had a team of at least, lets say, 10 people or more from all over the world, we could ensure that there would be at least one online to quickly confirm and approve or reject thumbnail edits. They'd have no mod powers or anything, just approving or rejecting thumbnail edits)
@RealChenxiang Thanks! And sure, I'm not the first person to use "Jundroo City" as lore for an emergency service vehicle either, it's a pretty commonly used lore idea. So it's free to take for anyone as far as I'm concerned
@GabrielFangster70 If by deleted parts you mean things such as the old prop engine part from the early versions of SP1, I have no idea if the devs intend to import those into SP2 as well. They might do it just to make sure that even very old SP1 builds would be compatible with SP2, but we have no confirmation of that yet.
@LunarEclipseSP Monitor is a type of warship (the same way how "destroyer", "battleship", "aircraft carrier" etc are also warship types), that has disproportionately large guns (they also often have low freeboards and low drafts). A sub-category of this is the river monitor, which has even lower draft to be able to traverse rivers.
Ironclads are early steam powered ships with iron armour, built mostly in the second half of the 19th century. Later ships that were started to be built by the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century were not called ironclads anymore to signify that they have been more advanced than their predecessors.
A ship can be both a monitor and an ironclad (such is the case for USS Monitor, or SMS Leitha, the latter is a river-monitor to be specific) but they are not necessarily connected. HMS Warrior is an ironclad but not a monitor, whereas HMS Erebus is a monitor but not an ironclad, just to mention a few examples.
@LunarEclipseSP Yes, USS Monitor was an ironclad and it is the namesake of the "monitor" type ships. But monitor type ships have continued to be built beyond the era of ironclads, that's why not all of them are ironclads
@LunarEclipseSP This is not an ironclad though 😅 It looks like a much later design monitor, especially with the design of the turret (which strongly reminds me of WW2 Japanese destroyer turrets) and the modern looking superstructure. Not all river monitors are ironclads, some of them were built and used even during the vietnam war which was much later than the ironclad era (some more modern monitors are even in service to this day in some navies)
You've got things mixed up a little here:
There is no open beta for SP2 yet, only closed playtesting. Dorian's post is talking about a small update for SP1 (which only includes small quality changes, no new parts or anything).
As for the deleted posts, Dorian and the other moderators have been cracking down on rule violations and some users decided to go to his post to complain about it because they feel like their posts have been unjustly removed. It's not related to the SP1 beta or SP2 beta at all. Also, I'm sure the blocky planes you mentioned will be fully compatible with SP2, the devs have stated it numerous times that SP2 will be able to run all SP1 builds, so that includes blocky planes as well.
for the record: it is possible to filter forums and search only for questions if that's what you are looking for (though imo that feature should be extended to be able to filter for multiple tags at once, for example to filter for "Screenshot" and "Teaser" at once to see only teasers than include screenshots, you get the idea), but yes, an inverted filter where you can block certain tags while keeping te rest visible for yourself would be also be useful
I agree, they don't violate any rules, but they are getting a little excessive. They should either take it to discord like you said, or make one or two megathreads for them and discuss the lore and story on those.
I 100% support this idea, especially because I have been doing something similar for a few years now. It could be implemented as a big button on everyone's bio, that upon pressing would redirect to that user's own special forum post that would include small posts in it, like a blog that the owner can make new posts in. Each inner post could have its own comment section and could be upvoted (not with the normal upvote type, but with the type that is currently used on comments, that small arrow that afaik doesnt give many points or none at all). Ot would give everyone their own little SP blog where they could post whatever they wish. There could maybe even a setting to receive notificarions if someone you follow posted something new in their blog, so you don't have to manually check all your favourite creators' pages
The Ocean mod is somewhat affected by the update: when looking underwater, the underwater background is pitch black. screenshot (it is not visible from above the water, only when you move the camera underwater)
I haven't noticed any other issues besides this yet.
The suspension definitely seems to be the root of the issue but I haven't been able to figure it out yet, though I suspect it might be related to the fact that it's too simple (@L1nus once told me that you can't really cheat with suspensions. Tagging him here, maybe he can help better). As a stopgap solution, I recommend connecting the wheels to the body and then enabling the vanilla suspension on them, I'll keep testing the car later
I'm not really sure what could be causing this other than maybe uneven weight distribution. Could you please upload one of these cars as unlisted and send me a link so I can check it out?
@Cereal I don't want to bother with building interiors for my cars, too much work. I'm purposefully building their insides hollow in case someone else wants to build an interior though.
Just letting you know since you are relatively new, that posts with misleading thumbnails are not allowed. The first thumbnail of a post has to be an ingame screenshot (small edits like adding text and such are allowed, but the base image has to be a screemshot from SP) so the moderators might remove this post if the see it. Nice job on the bus tho!
@Lwillswith2sentryguns thanks! to limit the speed, click on one of the wheels that are powered by the engine, open Overload and go to the ResizableWheel tab. there you will find a value named "maxAngularVelocity", you can use that to limit speed. Make sure to repeat this on all the wheels that are connected to the engine (you don't have to do it on wheels that are not powered)
you first need to upload your image to an image host (for example ImgBB), then copy the image url, and then insert this into your bio: ![]()
then paste the image link into the normal brackets, so it would look something like this:
(make sure to add the image format to the end, such as jpg or png, otherwise it won't work)
press save and the image should appear in your bio (this same method can be used in forum posts and build descriptions as well)
@MonsNotTheMonster shoot, I forgot you were already in the server lmao my bad
And yea, that method takes a bit of practice but if you can get it right, it's gets the best results that are currently possible to do in SP
The current most efficient and best looking method is to use sliced hollow fuselages: you slice the bottom of a circular hollow fuselage to 50%, one side of it to 50% as well, and the top to 93%. You then use this to make the flare of the bow by adding more segments: the wider you make the part, the more pronounced the flare is. It might sound a bit complex written like this, but we made a nice tutorial (among other useful tutorials about ship building) in the Port SP discord server, feel free to join, we are always happy to help a new ship builder learn (you can find an invite to it in my bio)
Just letting you know since you are a relatively new user, that the website rules don't allow using real life photos or screenshots from other games on thumbnails. The first thumbnail image must always show the build as it looks in SP (some editing is allowed, but the base image has to be how the build looks in-game)
@o2021o Next time you ask for something, maybe try adding at least "please". I abandoned the idea of making a mobile friendly version of this because it would be just too much work. I recommend trying out enzoBoeing757's Olympic, that one is very low part and mobile friendly.
@urlocalgorillawithaspork you're welcome
+1@urlocalgorillawithaspork I made the screenshots on two separate mod maps: Forest demo by Kennneth and Normandy by MisterT (the latter only works if you set the game version back to the 1.12 beta in steam)
+1@ivan6uy the Normandy map doesn't work on the latest versions. I took these screenshots by reverting the game back to an earlier version in steam

@McFindOut You do know that this is against the website rules, right? You can't randomly tag people on your posts.
uhh I dont remember asking to get tagged on this, why did you tag me?
