We've pushed out a tiny (and I do mean tiny) beta to the Steam beta branch for SimplePlanes. This is pretty much a maintenance update to prepare for SimplePlanes 2. Here are the change notes:
- Added SimplePlanes 2 button to the SANDBOX section in the main menu
- Added special error dialog when attempting to load a craft made in SimplePlanes 2
- Updated Unity to 2022.3.41f1
- Fixed parachute activation expression not recognizing aircraft variables
There's a small risk that with the Unity update some mods might be adversely affected, but if not then it'll probably leave the beta branch pretty quickly.
HOW TO GET THE BETA
- Open the Steam client and go to your library
- Right click on SimplePlanes and click Properties
- Go to the Betas tab
- Select
public-test
from the dropdown menu - Click Close
@32 I don’t think Simpleplanes 2 will have mobile support for having player made mods in game anytime. Only PC users can have mods in both Simpleplanes and Simpleplanes 2.
Oh good, a beta I can actually join lol
日本のAndroidユーザーの場合、SimplePlanesはアマゾンアプリストアの停止に伴って購入も更新も出来なくなるのです。
これの対策として、グーグルプレイストアでの日本向けのロックを解除して欲しい
For Japanese Android users, SimplePlanes can no longer be purchased or updated following the shutdown of the Amazon App Store.
To counter this, we need you to unlock it for Japan in the Google Play Store.
Also this isn't what we meant when we said we wanted more featured added.
Two D's. Two.
Man I am dumb. Somehow didn't notice this.
@Superliner350 with the way the game is made this isn’t currently possible stuff like Unity dependencies are incompatible or against TOS for both Apple and Android. With SP2 maybe we’ll luck out
Bring back mods for mobile devices please
Ayoo
I would like point out a small issue that's kinda annoying. The rotators & hinges tend to have a wobbling problem when you start using them on big things, upscaled or not be it on slightly unusual things like mechs, or more normal things like ships or cranes. IF there is a way to remedy that with this maintenance update, that'd be nice. If not then hopefully it can be prevented in SP2

The Ocean mod is somewhat affected by the update: when looking underwater, the underwater background is pitch black. screenshot (it is not visible from above the water, only when you move the camera underwater)
I haven't noticed any other issues besides this yet.
@MVC The mod tools haven't been updated, so no.
will a new version of unity be required to create mods in the future?
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 We got a wiseguy right here.
@SupremeDorian Ah ok, thank you
cool ig
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 It tells you about SP2 and gives you a button to go to its Steam page
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 probably redirect you to the SP2 steam page?
what does the simpleplanes 2 button do?
