We’re getting closer to testing SimplePlanes 2, and we’re now opening signups for anyone interested in joining the playtest once it begins.
This isn't the official start of the playtest just yet — we're still working hard to get things ready. But we want to start gathering a pool of potential testers so that, when the time comes, we can begin bringing people in gradually.
The plan is to invite testers in small batches at first, then open things up more as we go. We're aiming for a wide range of experience levels and playstyles to help us test from different angles. That includes longtime players, casual builders, mobile veterans trying SP2 on PC for the first time — everyone brings something valuable to the table.
If you’re interested in helping us test the game and provide feedback, you click the link at the bottom of this post. It asks for some basic info about your hardware, your experience with SimplePlanes, and what you’re most excited about in SP2. It should only take a few minutes.
One important note: signing up doesn’t guarantee you’ll be invited. We expect more signups than we’ll be able to accommodate, especially in the early phases. But we’ll be reviewing responses regularly and bringing in new testers over time.

Dear Mr. Andrew Garrison,
I hope you're doing well. I’m reaching out with deep respect and appreciation for the work you've done in creating SimplePlanes—a platform that has inspired countless creators, including myself.
Recently, I shared a feature suggestion that I believe could bring meaningful depth to SimplePlanes 2: the addition of installable radar systems for player aircraft, along with realistic stealth mechanics based on radar cross-section (RCS). These features would allow players to design aircraft that can detect, track, and evade threats in a way that reflects real-world aviation strategy.
Currently, many players—including myself—spend time designing stealth aircraft like the B-2 or B-21 with great attention to shape and surface. But without actual radar and stealth mechanics in the game, these designs remain purely cosmetic. They look stealthy, but functionally behave no differently than any other aircraft. This limits the creative potential and strategic value of such builds.
By implementing radar and true stealth behavior, you would empower players to create aircraft that not only look advanced, but perform in ways that reward thoughtful design and tactical planning. Several experienced members of the community have already expressed strong support for this idea, and I truly believe it could benefit the entire player base.
If you have a moment to review the suggestion, I’d be honored to hear your thoughts. Your insight would mean a great deal—not just to me, but to everyone who dreams of seeing SimplePlanes evolve even further.
Thank you for your time and for building a game that continues to inspire.
Respectfully,
MehdiB2SPIRIT

Dear Sir @AndrewGarrison, have you recover our beloved and glorious site? I will glad if you all recover it to its former glory.
When small wish for update coming?
That’s exciting news! I’ve been a fan of SimplePlanes since the early days, and it’s great to see SP2 getting closer. I remember spending hours tweaking plane designs just to get the perfect flight path. It’s awesome that the team is looking for a range of players to test. I’ve recently started using https://www.google.com to organize my feedback and test notes for games I try—it’s super helpful when tracking bugs or improvement ideas. Might be useful for anyone planning to contribute detailed feedback during the SP2 playtest.
NEW PC!!! RAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm quite confused on what i would need to do to be a playtester and what i can contribute to; Assuming i have the time, what sorta things would i (applicants in general) expect to give back?
Idk if i'll apply because i got an mc server with friends, school, sleep, etc, but if i did, what exactly would a playtester do?
I’m signed up.

Can the SP2 character be customized or replaced through the Character Replacement Mod? If I could, I think it would greatly improve the gameplay experience and allow players to control their favorite characters🤔🤔
