Linear actuators don't run off of an input controller like other parts do, they just take whatever number you give it and just rolls with it, so you have to get that number exactly how you want it before feeding it in

@overlord5453 just tested, you can use a control base to turn on an activation group, but cannot mix it with any funky trees for a specific behavior
You can only have a flat Activate1 or other group, nothing else

Scaled engines tend to do that. Try not to scale your engines too hard.
