@thefalkenreich I have some ideas for strapping bombs on planes to the I-400. I got a method for keeping explosives safe from diving. I've also used that kind of trick with the winch before if you haven't seen it, both in my ballistic missiles and the sub I made which deploys them.
The Ekranoplan really is such a marvel of engineering. Given it lifts yet can't fly like an airplane it's almost like a true 50/50 split hybrid between a boat and a plane. Neither truly a boat, nor fully an airplane. Just watching one in action in a video is awesome to see.
Previously I was more or less functionality over detail, but lately I've been trying to balance the two a bit more. That said though, functionality takes priority with detail coming when possible for me.
@Gameboi14 I was once scared the crap out of by a crack of thunder that sounded like a nuke going off. The lightning can get pretty crazy too, and when it rains it usually pours.
This is fantastic! I just figured out how to apply it to the engines I use for my submarines, now I can very easily limit their speeds down to the real thing!
@Skydeath Give it a moment, it's heavy so gravity will pull it down for a bit. Soon the neutral boyancy will slow it down and it'll just stop. You can also counteract this with some upward ballast (VTOL UP) and throttle to get it to stop sinking.
@LancasterAce Got some custom torpedoes in the works, an improvement on the design I used for my guided torpedoes. Hopefully the work I put into then will give me something I can use on all my subs.
For things you're building, if you have access to XML modding a good way to reduce lag is to set 'calculateDrag' to false and 'disableAircraftCollisions' to true on parts. Knowing this game's physics it's risky to remove drag on everything though, so do so mainly for little details you might add.
@ThomasRoderick Closer to the second, since the launch platform was spawned on 'Maywar Takeoff' and the convoy was very close, the wire is nearly parallel with the green targeting line. (advanced targeting mod). If you look closely at that line, you might spot the wire.
@ThomasRoderick Yes and that's for a very specific reason. You see these things are designed to recreate the function of launching an explosive payload on a ballistic course via launching bombs via detachers. Normally, I would need to use an Activation group to launch the payload since the missile would count as 'detached' once launched. The winch prevents this, allowing a launch while keeping it attached. This allows the bombs to be launched as described in the directions, basically like how you would normally launch bombs from an aircraft.
Not bad actually, it's a little rough in some areas, but this looks like the level of quality that with practice could lead to amazing pictures in the future!
Interesting design, flies really well too! You forgot to mention it has VTOL abilities too. Just a tip, always put the full directions of operations (particularly when using activation groups) in your description.
Here's another trick that might help with selecting attachment nodes! Zooming out as far as you can tends to help with selecting them. The node circles get larger, and when zoomed out enough clicking them tends to work!
@AlexIsDaBoss Don't ask for followers, in any place whether it's here or youtube asking for followers will never make you look good. That said, I can offer some advice for growth based on my own experiences.
1) For starters, don't ask for follows and upvotes, those things have to be earned by other people's choices.
__
2) Build and Upload: Think of cool things you would like to build. Most importantly, practice makes perfect. If you keep building, you will get better. Even within your limitations, you could still make some great things below 100 or even 50 parts.
__
3) Leave comments, join challenges if you can, and interact with people. It's an easy and natural way to be more visible.
__
4) Have a look at other people's builds, you can learn a lot from them. Be careful not to copy anyone, but simply downloading builds and looking through their working can teach you some things which can help you build better.
__
5) Finally, I suggest uploading on Friday nights. Peeps are most likely to be available on the weekend, and uploading then in my experience gives you the most amount of people online who might spot it while it's new.
I hope you heed my advice here, I was in a sort of stagnant position with little growth at some point. But eventually I got better, found my place, and am on my way to gold! So please, don't resort to asking for people to follow and upvote, get people to decide to on their own through your builds!
@AlexIsDaBoss Given how rough this thing is overall it could do with a remaster. I'd suggest downloading my Type 206 to see if that one works better. There's also my Seawolf though its size might make it risky for a mobile device.
@AlexIsDaBoss Well I have no idea because I downloaded it to check and it worked relatively fine, going forward with functioning pitch. Less polished than my later builds, but still fully working.
@Jerba Three planes if memory serves me right. And I could do the Ohio after the Vanguard, also already got the I-400 as a request, which I will start once I finish the type IX.
@Tang0five Hmmm, both are interesting ideas. The Vanguard would be a first for me as a nuclear boomer. Plus it would give me the chance to build a Trident! which would utilize my method for making Ballistic Missiles to its full, MIRV'ey potential. :3
@Nerfenthusiast Oh shoot, well good thing I'm no stranger to building a submarine aircraft carrier. Guess I shouldn't be too surprised I'd get this request! XD I'll do it, and it will launch three planes like the real thing!
I myself have made my descriptions in word before copy-pasting them onto the upload post. The fake-but-actually-real upvote button is quite the cool discovery! I was wondering how that was being done.
@SWAGDADDY7 Lemme stick this on imgur one mo
Godfather Of All Bombs?
+1@thefalkenreich Oh! I see.

+1@Gameboi14 No problem! In fact I'm quite happy to see my build used here.
+1@Gameboi14 Of course not! Given the large size and decently high part count it's not a bad test.
+2Previously I was more or less functionality over detail, but lately I've been trying to balance the two a bit more. That said though, functionality takes priority with detail coming when possible for me.
Started around the middle actually
@Gameboi14 I was once scared the crap out of by a crack of thunder that sounded like a nuke going off. The lightning can get pretty crazy too, and when it rains it usually pours.
+1Seems the weather's rather interesting in your hometown/city.
@Gameboi14 Thanks man.
This is fantastic! I just figured out how to apply it to the engines I use for my submarines, now I can very easily limit their speeds down to the real thing!
@LancasterAce Here you go! Really hope this works for you, if not I'm really sorry, and also tired.
+1@Skydeath Give it a moment, it's heavy so gravity will pull it down for a bit. Soon the neutral boyancy will slow it down and it'll just stop. You can also counteract this with some upward ballast (VTOL UP) and throttle to get it to stop sinking.

@LancasterAce I'll work on some custom torps, something you can actually freely dive with.
@LancasterAce Thank you, it seems you were very right when you said it would get a lotta upvotes! Glad peeps love it!
Preeeeetty.
+1@Gameboi14
Thank you!
@LancasterAce Check this out! also credit to Minecraftpoweer for the upvote and comment shortcuts, only took me too long how to figure them out!
+1@LancasterAce In case you didn't spot this, coming tonight ;).
Not bad! It's rough but in a way that gives it a lotta character.

+1What the....!? No way...this is genius! And so simple too!
+1@AlexIsDaBoss No problem! Glad you'll be taking it, and I wish you luck!
+1@TheXDimension32 Awesome! I'm jealous, I've only seen a video touring that thing!

@AlexIsDaBoss I'll add that to my list of requests, and get to that when I can. Hope that the newer subs will work better for you!

@Freerider2142 Oh boy! Can't wait to see how that goes.
@CptJacobson I'm getting all the iconic subs, sure why not!
@Nerfenthusiast Go ahead!
@Tang0five That is true! So I think I'll go with the Vanguard.
+1@Tang0five Hmmm, both are interesting ideas. The Vanguard would be a first for me as a nuclear boomer. Plus it would give me the chance to build a Trident! which would utilize my method for making Ballistic Missiles to its full, MIRV'ey potential. :3
@Nerfenthusiast Good idea! I'll keep that in mind, and credit you with the idea should it work.

@Tang0five By resize I mean the size of the faces specifically, not length of course.
+1@Tang0five Well the part itself can be downloaded here, and still resized, so perhaps it could still be a useful sub assembly ;)
@Freerider2142 If you do, I'll certainly make another attempt at this!
+1@Freerider2142 I tried it!

@Freerider2142 Oh I will, I'll post a screenshot of the results!
