Hey btw do you guys think flying videos like these should show the whole flight, or should I chop & edit the video down to just the key/highlight moments of the flight?
@Freerider2142
Ikr? It bothered me the base map in general lacked any major international airport. Kaper Town Airport was great, but I instantly fell in love with Maywar Airport since it was so huge, and looked a lot like the airport that my RP company (Rainier Aerospace) is based at; Grant Co Intl. Airport in Moses Lake, WA (which is in a high semi-desert). There's also another airport mod in Maywar on the steam workshop.
@Notaleopard
That was actually Banshee #4. According to the novel (from what I've heard; I've only gotten half way through the first book so far), the 1st Banshee was the prototype, the 2nd Banshee I think was used as a training carrier, and the 3rd & 4th were fully commissioned models for immediate use by the FAF. Although I think the 1st or 2nd Banshee carriers (or both) was eventually converted into a fully commissioned carrier for the FAF. Not too sure about that, but by the end of the 2nd novel, I think all the Banshee carriers, at least all operational ones with the FAF on Planet Fairy, were destroyed.
@Squirrel
I read the F-35 needs afterburner to reach Mach 1, but once it gets there, it will cruise at Mach 1 without A/B. I think the Eurofighter & Rafale are like that too. Think of it as an airplane starting to taxi; You apply quite a bit of power to get the plane moving, but once its moving, you can bring back the power since it won't take much to keep it moving. I think the F-22 is the only fighter in the world that can reach Mach 1 without A/B and stay there.
I personally love the Su-57 design and I think it'll be a great fighter for Russia. You did an excellent job with this one. Although I have to ask with that comment about F-35 super-cruising; how would super-cruising for long duration damage the engine? Your literally at mach 1 without afterburners because you have enough engine power to get there without it.
@ACEPILOT109
Ok; just added you to the tag list. I'm surprised I've got so many people on the tag list right now. I was originally gonna upload this this weekend but I kind of delayed it (and the first official flight video) so I just decided to do a engine run and do the first flight tomorrow morning and upload the plane soon after.
@exosuit
True, but this plane is using piston power solely for the purpose of breaking a record. In other words its not supposed to be practical or efficient, which is why only 2 or 3 of them will only be built for research & record-setting/breaking purposes.
@DeezDucks
Yes it is indeed retractable landing gear. I mean its supposed to go super sonic solely on piston power, so you'd want as little drag as possible.
@QwertDude
Indeed it does. ;)

Thx!

Ah, I see your also using Maywar Airport.
Also I just realized we have the same amount of points.

Congrats!
Press F to pay respects.
Sure why not.
Emirates. It wouldn't be a 777 without Emirates. ;)
You should make a Nanchang CJ-6. Its basically a Chinese Yak-52 with some improvements, and its a very popular warbird in the US.

FYI: ATC you were hearing in the background was from LiveATC.com and I was listening to KGEG airport (Spokane Metro/International).
In case no one saw the update on the teaser forum post, the designation was changed to X-52 since Bell already used X-5 for one of their X-planes.

@GeneralOliverVonBismarck
Oh don't worry I'll have a version without the modded parts (the instrumentation).
If this works out fine you should make more combat theater-based maps like Vietnam or the Middle East.
Says yes by making whale sounds
This deserves way more downloads.

OOPS
More airports around the base map?
Heeey you made the "alien school bus"! Nice.
