@jamesPLANESii
It was only during half-way through making this thing did I remember you made a flying sphere as well XD. It does look like it, although it's not a copy.
@Strikefighter04
Wait, I'm confused. Did you order the P1B Dusters or the P3A Buzzards? The Buzzard is out of production, so that only means you bought used ones. There isn't really anything wrong with the Buzzard's airframe structure and flying qualities, its just it was severely under-powered. It faired well as a trainer and was PAC's competitor against the Boeing/Stearman PT-16, but it flopped. The reason why PAC decided to close production of the P3, is because PAC plans on introducing a new biplane design using the latest building/manufacturing techniques to replace the P3's spot as an all-metal bi-plane. However the P1 Eagle is incredibly cheap and simple which is why its so popular in my story/canon.
@Badplanesdotnet
I was able to land it. Although you can't slam the brakes. Unless your talking about its really high stall speed than yes it is a bit tricking trying to put it down without stalling.
@ThomasRoderick
Ha ha, yea I know, but it's a WW2 setting so I added a black-white filter on the photo to make it match with the setting/backstory. I'm doing that with all my descriptions (or at least planes that are canon to my backstory) until I get into the 60's era.
Thanks for tagging me. Well done on this build! The F-5 is definitely one of my favorite fighters. Pretty much the definition of a "light fighter". Pretty sure I mentioned before on MP but the YF-17/F/A-18 are the decedents of the F-5 design. You just made the Hornet's grand dad.
Also the heightened cockpit and spine definitely look better than it was before.
@Caveman999
I'll give them credit at least they make replacement parts such as the motor and landing gear for this RC plane. Although I think the HobbyZone Duet would be better quality.
@Caveman999
You mean the firebird stratos? That was my first real RC airplane (my first was a crummy Harbor Freight Yellow Bee that broke apart on it's first crash). The Firebird Stratos was the plane I learnt to fly RC airplanes with. Although it was really big so I was limited to wide open parks. I got the Champ to fly in more confined spaces like my neighborhood. I flew the Firebird twice around my neighborhood but it's was incredibly nerve wracking with such a big plane in a small place with tall pine trees everywhere. That Firebird though, is one tough cookie of an airplane. On one of my first flights flying it I was doing some loops with it out in an open field and it nose dived right after it reached the bottom part of the loop and I couldn't recover it. Slammed right into the ground nose-first at high speed. To my surprise it suffered hardly any damage except for the rubber nose cone breaking off and the forward fuselage buckled/wrinkled a bit from the impact. But a little super glue on the nose cone and she was back up and running. It went through a ton of abuse in crashes as I learned to fly it. I've also had some small birds attack it once because it looks so much like a hawk 😂. It's a terrific airplane to fly and thanks to it's wing it also doubles as a glider where you can climb to a high altitude and just shut off the throttle and let it sit up there. Great RC airplane but it's a bit too big IMHO as a first-beginner's plane and your limited to parks with it. I prefer the Champ or the Duet as a first-RC airplane, especially the Champ. (sorry for the lengthily response)
@JackTheBestBoss
Thanks, and yes I have noticed that problem. I honestly don't know what it does that. It only does it when it runs on WEP, so I assume one of the VTOL nozzles are slightly off center or something and it rolls the plane slightly. It's not that big of an issue, after all WEP is meant to be a quick boost, realistically not used for long durations, so I'm gonna keep it the way it is.
Well done on this. I already know all of this info, but I do want to learn how to fly seaplanes on FSX this summer. If your up to the challenge, do a tutorial or introduction to floatplanes. If you do it tag me please. Thanks.
747 isn't dead, it's still a helluva freighter and many freight operators are still ordering it. The 747's passenger career though is on it's last legs. The same can go with the A380. It's staying alive thanks to Emirates, but the aircraft is much more expensive to maintain and operate than the 747-8. Any new orders for the A380 have pretty much dried up. But in the end 4-engine aircraft are on the way out unless you need a 4-engine aircraft for a highly specialized field such as orbital shuttle launches. (White Knight II, Stratolaunch, An-225 (back in the Soviet days the An-225 was a shuttle-launcher/shuttle carrier) etc.)
@Razor3278
Yep. The exhaust flames occur when you activate WEP. WEP essentially injects a certain amount of water into the fuel/air mixture and lowers combustion heat, enabling the engine to achieve higher power levels as long as it keeps cool. I did the flames by mounting a VTOL nozzle at the front of the exhaust stacks and xml modded it to stretch the flame so it covers the whole stack and makes it seem like the flames are coming out the exhaust stacks. I also made the VTOL nozzle smaller so it's less noticeable.
During the development of my new upcoming NA-4 Storm Petrel, the custom landing gear suspension (retractable) kept collapsing when landing or at high taxi speeds. I had the mass for the piston and the supporting structures set at .1 to save weight, but it turns out it made the structure very very weak. So I set the whole gear leg with all it's components back at 1 for mass and it didn't collapse anymore. I guess for pistons, hinges, rotators, etc. you'll have to have the mass at 1 or above. Going lower than 1 reduces structure integrity.
@Mustang51
It's cool but not my best design. The handling (particularly the maneuverability) is rather poor. More like an interceptor UCAV than a dogfighter. Oh I get it, 51st download, Mustang51 lol.
Thanks, these are incredible! It's not too hard to make gauges when your experienced, my problem with making good and functional gauges like these ones, is my cockpit space becomes to cluttered, and parts will start latching onto other parts even though I don't move them, and it makes every thing a mess and the functionality is broken. I think on my next virtual cockpit-equipped airplane I'll try making the gauges separately, or use these ones.
Very excited for FS19, I have FS15 on my Xbox 360. Although I'm pretty sure my PC won't meet system requirements for FS19. Plus farming is at the bottom of my "simulations hobbies" (1st is Flying/FSX/SimplePlanes, 2nd is Trucking/ATS, 3rd is Hunting/theHunter, and 4th is Farming/FS15) so I don't think it's worth it for me to put money in a game that I'll hardly touch. But by all means FS19 will be the best in the Farming Simulator series!
@Texasfam04
Oh I sure do have another plane in my development hangar being worked on! It's going to be one sexy bird compared to the Lark. It's called the NA-4 Storm Petrel/Sparrow (name undecided yet). Also thanks for the compliment! I do like to take my time so I can perfect my design, but another reason why I take so much time on my builds is simply because I have other things going on and I can't work on SimplePlanes 24/7.
If you move the sphere or delete it, you can see the internal components.

Nice and very high detailed but the proportions are a bit off.
+1I'd like to see more control sliders, like the VTOL and Trim sliders, except you can add two more and they can control anything.
+1@FastDan
+1Oh I know, I'm not offended or anything by the suggestion. Its also not a car. I'll give a hint: Its a robot.
@FastDan
+1Nope its not "Gangar".
@FastDan

+1Yea Maywar is pretty laggy. Also here is the fixed gyro version that I'll be racing (gyro has no activation groups)
Looks a lot like an F-86D Saber Dog. When I first saw the G.91 I thought it was an Italian copy/version of the F-86.
