High-altitude Interceptor: The P-23 "Stormhunter"
The Stormhunter is an interceptor developed from the fuselage of the P-22. It was originally an upgraded version of the Stormraider, but the upgrade completely changed the plane so it was developed as a completely new plane.

The most noticeable change is the wings, which are similar to a P-47N's wing. This wing was more durable which allowed the Stormhunter to have a very good never exceed speed, at the cost of weight. The armament also changed, now being two 25mm cannons and four .50 caliber macine guns in the wings. The engine was also upgraded, producing more power and combined with the new paddle bladed propeller, it allows the Stormhunter to perform well at high altitudes. Armor was also added to protect the pilot from bomber turrets.

Aside from interceptor duty, it also performed ground attack missions. Provisions for various bombs and rockets are located in attachment points under the fuselage and wings.

It served alongside the Stormraider until the world moved into the jet age.
