Did you just pick it up out of boredom, were you inspired to something/someone or did you have a burning passion that 3D modellers and Kerbal Space Program couldn't satisfy?
In my personal case, it was probably the defunct YouTuber Weaselzone. I saw him reviewing planes and thought the game looked cool. Look how that turned out

I just saw it on the app store one time and decided, you know what, looks cool, let's buy it.
Well, I found this game and i'd thought i'd give it a try. I downloaded this game on iOS first and fell in love. A year later I created my account. And about 2 years later I downloaded it on my computer and this is going to be the permanent platform I play on.
Young me searching for ksp like games on google play store, found simplerockets, after a few days I got curious to what other games this dude made and I found simpleplanes.
Well, Jundroo was giving it away for free on the simplerockets subreddit back in 2014 so I decided to get it.

I used to play simplerockets then. In the game there is a line that says "visit Simplerockets subreddit".. so i did and discovered reddit.com. After a few weeks of loitering in the sub the devs posted about their new game called Simpleplanes...
Also for us early adopters, the devs gave away pc versions of the game for free. That made me a fan of their work so I kept playing :)

As ironic as it is, I was inspired to play SimplePlanes because of the infamous Jelly. Fortunately, I wasn't one of the invaders dispatched by him to create planes for him, instead I saw his videos, and wanted to play simply because of my liking for aircraft, and that it looked fun!
I started in ksp, building rockets, but I saw Youtubers like Matt Lowne make amazing planes in ksp. I couldn’t make a plane for my life in Kerbal, so I started looking for something like kerbal, but targeted towards aircraft. That’s when I found simpleplanes. I immediately fell in love with it and now play it almost every day
I actually was on the site before I started playing and me looking at a couple users aircrafts made me wanna try this and the users are Dllama MrVaultech and Squirrel

Weaselzone just appeared in my recommended. got the game in the next 3 days.
I used to play SimpleRockets 1 and when SP came out there was a notification in SR and I downloaded it.
