The last time I saw him alive was this morning before I left to catch a flight to Newark. About 15 hours later I returned home to see his corpse in his carry case, wrapped in a blanket. I knew it was happening, but seeing his body curled up like that, lifeless and stiff, was definitely a good shock. I'm crying. That cat was literally a good part my childhood. Seeing him gone will be a hole in my heart for the rest of my life on Earth.

I have a cat too, a 4-year-old. He has brought great joy to my life and I can't imagine ever losing him. He is like a part of our family. Seeing your cat pass away really struck a chord in my head. . . I'm really sorry for your loss.

Well he lived a quite long and happy life considering the average lifespan of a cat is 12-18 years. Condolence by the way and I too like cats.

I know how it feels to lose a pet.
I had a rabbit, a mini rex, named Bun-Bun. My family rescued him because a distant relative was moving down to Florida, and didn't have any time to take care of him.
So we took him in, and oh boi was he happy. They say that when a rabbit spontaneously jumps up, he's happy. Well, that was the case every day with him. I'm pretty sure he cleared me one time. He'd also run around me and my mother, doing a figure 8. His favorite place (besides being held) was under a treadmill, and he'd take short naps under it with his legs stretched out.
Before 6th grade started, he passed away, because rabbits can't through up if they're sick. He was one hell of a tough rabbit, sometimes he even scared my dog a few times.
It's important to continue on, for hard moments like this, and worse. I carried on by getting a new rabbit, who is named Wimble. He's still kicking around.
Always keep your head up, and your ego higher

Sorry for your loss. I hate this kind of posts because it reminds me that my dog will pass out sometime, too.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had a cat a while ago, her name was Pumpkin. She had an amazing life, my mom found her and her littermates abandoned behind her office building. We adopted her and gave her littermates to people looking for a pet. She was the most gentle and chill cat, and lived a good long life of 17 years (yes you saw right, 17 years). She would often go out for a couple of hours roaming, but always came back with a fresh mouse or squirrel and, in her infinite generosity, would always leave the head as a "present" for us when she was finished eating, it always cracked me up. Her life may have been long, but she was never in any pain, and passed away in her sleep peacefully. I've missed her a lot since, but I know she's in a better place now

It makes me so sad to see stuff like this. I almost cry when I see a lost dog or cat sign because I think about what the owners are feelng. Sorry for you loss, but I know what it feels like because when my moms 13 year old cat passed it was so sad because there was nothing we could do to help her. And it’s just so sad seeing the poor animal laying there hopeless, and so still. It’s even worse when you know it’s happening. (I started crying when I was righting this). Just know that you are not alone and not to be sad, because your wonderful cat would want you not to feel sad or upset. Sending prayers to you.
