2. Carrying the Buran for test flights
3. Antonov An-22
4. The Guppy, a modified Boeing Stratocruiser.
5. Auxiliary power unit. Provides electrical power to the aircraft on the ground and in the event of a dual engine failure.
6. Trim is almost always located on the sides of the throttle column in the form of black and white wheels.

@Lanc It's not. It was a side intake version of the J-8, which was a completely indigenous aircraft based on what they learned reverse engineering the J-7. The only real similarity to the J-7 was the intake type, the same as a MiG-21 or EE Lightning. When the use of the PL-2 missile became more widespread, the need for a targeting radar increased, and so they swapped the central intake for a large radome with side intakes. The resulting aircraft ended up looking like an Su-15 mostly because their roles are the same, both long range supersonic interceptors. Their development was completely independent though. The J-8ii in terms of performance, landing gear, and some other details is totally different than the Su-15. It has a ventral fin like a MiG-23, landing gear similar to a MiG-21, and a MiG-21 style wing that wasn't updated like the Su-15.
Flies reasonably well: here are things I'm going to work on.
1. It rotates at about 400mph, so I'm going to move the center of mass back a bit.
2. It accelerates very fast, and I'm going to check the engine power to make sure it accelerates properly.
3. The pitch is a little weird, the high deflection and lack of damper on the stabilator causes it to bounce around and pull a lot of Gs at high speed.
4. There isn't really any suspension and the landing gear bays/doors seem a little off, so I'm going to redo that.
I think that's it, I'll let you know when I finish.
Disadvantages:
Stupidly big
No airport can service it
A lot of engines = a lot of fuel = large carbon footprint
Crazy deck area = high amounts of cleaning = large carbon footprint
Will require a massive runway, probably bigger than even LAX or Atlanta to operate safely
A folding wing on something that large would be a huge structural integrity problem
If you go fast enough sometimes the wings will start spazzing and making you go faster. Also idk if you increased the engine power but if you didn't that viking is wayyyyyy too powerful.
They need a rotor brake. Also I'm pretty sure that's not how helicopters work. I agree the tail rotor physics need work and that you can turn a heli like a plane, rolling and pitching up slightly, but turning with the tail rotor is correct. I'm just tired of them overspeeding when you land because there's no rotor brake.
Also, you don't simply choose to believe in science. As Neil DeGrasse Tyson said: "The great thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it".
Can someone tell me why Boeing is under fire for this? They do know it's not Boeing's job to keep up on the maintenance. The engines are made by GE too so if anything they should be under fire.
@SheriffHackdogMCPE Well I wouldn't say saved the world, they may have been efficient but Nazi Germany was already collapsing from a lack of resources and Hitler's insanity
@SheriffHackdogMCPE Bruh no don't make your pfp Hitler. That's like making you pfp Slobodan Milosevic or Andrew Jackson. People who commit genocide are not allowed

Start with the fuselage duh. Usually the straightest part of the fuselage. If it's an airliner start with the nose, everything else will be easier after that.
@TheMegaMauster That's partly because they had an alliance with Stalin, but when he died Khrushchev undid it and they had to make do with what they already had, which was a bunch of MiG-15s, 19s, and a few MiG-21s with limited technical documents.
I have 423 people who are dumb enough to follow me lol

+2This is underrated post, I've made a few planes on here that nobody else has ever made. People should use this more often.
