Martin P4M-1 Mercator

Auto Credit Based on LieutenantSOT's Mixed-Propulsion Aircraft Challenge! [CLOSED]

This is the only Mercator ever built on the site. Until a couple of weeks ago, I didn't know it existed!

Act. 1 - Open bomb bay doors.
Act. 2 - Lights
VTOL - flaps
FireWeapons - launch Mk. 34 Torpedoes
The torpedoes' outside flops around in the water, ignore it. I couldn't fix it no matter how heavy the fuselage or detacher is.

The Martin P4M-1 Mercator was a maritime patrol aircraft used from 1950-1960 by the US Navy. Only 19 production models were built, with two converted into electronic countermeasures aircraft designated P4M-1Q. Unlike prior patrol aircraft such as the PB4Y Mariner, it had only 2 propellers. Instead of 4 propellers, it had 2 gasoline-burning jets built into the nacelles providing a higher top speed than propellers alone. The combined power provided it with very high takeoff power and high top speed for what it was. Maximum speed was about 410mph, however higher speeds could be achieved in a dive. It was fitted with tail and nose batteries, a dorsal turret, and two waist gunners. I put 6 Mk.34 torpedoes in the bomb bay, though by weight it could have held more.

Hey asteroid, would you be alright if I took the FT for the tail and dorsal turrets to use on my Tu-16 build? I'll be sure to credit if I do.
