[PEA]'s not dead! Kind of...
The concept of PEAs themselves is virtually immortal- aircraft that prioritize simplicity without sacrificing looks are (or at least should be) a staple of SimplePlanes. What died off however is the PEA label, for a few reasons:
-Many felt the "PEA" tag was unnecessary and used simply for clout/upvotes, since pretty much any plane that has low parts and looks good could qualify as a PEA. However, PEAs definitely sported another layer of complexity which even I couldn't quite explain. A good example of this would be my "X-Part" series aircraft like say this Attacker. Despite lacking the PEA label (along with asthetic features like shiny windshields and thicc wings which were common with many authentic PEAs), there's not really a lot one could say to disqualify this as a PEA, hence a perfect example of the killing controversy.
-Monarchii kinda slowly went inactive for reasons unknown to... well, anyone right now. Pretty sure he had real-life stuff going on during his first absence, but as of recently I'm in the dark about where Chii is or what he's doing. But either way, his slow withdraw from the community was probably the fatal blow to PEA's mass expansion, on account of the fact he was the founder and one of the best makers of PEAs.
-And then there's just natural society; trends lose popularity over time (even if they don't downright die out for good), and PEA had a good six-month-ish-long run before eventually things slowly winded down. PEAs are still around here and there though, as evident here.
I've always thought of this too but with a slightly more complex method:
When opening the spawn menu, you can choose to create a team, and when spawning aircraft you can add a plane to a team with a scroll menu, similar to the current method for choosing where a plane is spawned. The rest is pretty basic stuff, e.g. team members targeting (so let's say I have Team 1 and Team 2. A plane from Team 1 will never intentionally harm another plane on Team 1, but other teams will be targeted)
Not choosing a team would of course be base FFA.
@Karroc9522 Aw, thanks :D
It's kinda funny that this would be something you learn from, since the A-40 series is pretty much just a culmination of me using tactics I was taught (mostly by Mouse and Monarchii). I guess the student has become the teacher, even though I still have plenty to learn (for example, I do not understand how to make smooth PSM)
Reminds me of some RC planes I saw at an event not too long ago- tri-prop VTOL setup while retaining the ability to fly like a plane instead of a drone

Can you tag me on an unlisted post of the F-100? I can look into it.

+1@TAplanes Oh I see
Well in that case, I could put a flight model on it if ya like. The plane is beautiful, it just lacks... y'know... flight.
I might be stupid but it doesn’t fly ;-;
