  • Wintsworth Monarch 5.9 years ago

It just dropped into jet stream so assumed it was just built, I see the original now. @Shippy456

  • Wintsworth Monarch 5.9 years ago

Nice build, the first thing I thought was seaplane! That would also work around the tiddly LG. Chuck some Sunderland style floats on the wings and bingo! Good work though!

  • Handley Page Victor B.Mk.2 5.9 years ago

I think if I remember rightly I liked the fuselage shape and just scaled it up rather painfully until it was full scale. About the Brabazon, that was supposed to be an unlisted post as you could probably tell - I actually need to post another build before I start the brab, but I got carried away! Thanks for pointing it out to me! @asteroidbook345

  • Brabazon 5.9 years ago

    Bugger.....

  • Saunders-Roe S.R.45 Princess 5.9 years ago

I made one of these years ago, not enough of these on this site I think, good stuff!

  • de Havilland Mosquito PR.XVI 5.9 years ago

Never done a hollow fuselage or cockpit, I tend to avoid them as it’s quite fiddly with an iPad @MaxB17

  • de Havilland Mosquito PR.XVI 5.9 years ago

Yeah would love to build a viscount, it’s been on my radar for a while but I don’t really have the time anymore, what would you need help with? @MaxB17

  • Sopwith Camel F.1 5.9 years ago

This really looks magnificent cutting around the sky!

    Very cool!

    Very nice, effortless flight characteristics!

  • Gotland Class Submarine Remaster 6.0 years ago

I remember seeing Dutch boats in den Helder with the same fin configuration and always wondered what the benefit was. Good stuff once more!

  • 2019 Lykins Highway General Semi Truck 6.0 years ago

Did anyone else think of McCalls ‘Convoy’ song when they saw this.....! Lovely job!

  • Handley Page Victor B.Mk.2 6.0 years ago

Sorry, I’m more or less winding down with this and don’t have / never did have time to build requests. Why don’t you build one? @MarinoYeet

  • US Navy Seaplane Tender 6.0 years ago

No worries, it’s a rather novel build! @Avro683Lancaster

  • British Army MLRS Rattlesnake 3.8 6.0 years ago

    Awesome! AA capability version next?
    It flies. It dies!

  • Indian_bike 6.0 years ago

    Fastest Indian, what a movie!

  • Heinkel He111 H 6.0 years ago

Pretty damn neat, love the camo job. Tailplane and fin are a little blocky spoiling things a bit, nice build though!

  • Rolling tendency in symmetrical aircraft? 6.0 years ago

Most vexing. Try mirroring and then mirroring the opposite way. Bit of a pain if you have lettering and working flaps etc.

  • Carreidas 160 6.0 years ago

    Loved tintin as a kid!

  • Boulton Paul P.200 3.9 (USN) 6.0 years ago

Funny world, working on a BP myself..... a “daffy” in fact. Lovely looking stuff here!

  • Mig 21 PF-13 Fishbed D 6.0 years ago

Awesome job! The cockpit detail must have taken you ages!

  • de Havilland Mosquito PR.XVI 6.0 years ago

Thanks old sport, luckily I found a PR type that had the simpler two tone roundels! @GhostHTX

  • de Havilland Mosquito PR.XVI 6.0 years ago

    Thanks for your input! @jamesPLANESii

  • Westland Brasidas MK2 3.1 pub 6.0 years ago

Or upvote something your impressed with? :) @Caden313

  • de Havilland Mosquito PR.XVI 6.0 years ago

You are quite right @wonkapilot in fact all bomber variants, i.e. with a glass nose rather than PR types, had pointed front windscreens.

  • de Havilland Mosquito PR.XVI 6.0 years ago

Thank you very much @BusterShortWolf I didn’t realise the mossie was such a fav with people - after all you don’t see them too often.

  • de Havilland Mosquito PR.XVI 6.0 years ago

mosquito hits mountain. Mosquito bounces off then explodes! :) @ThePilotDude

  • Fairey Spearfish 6.0 years ago

    Of course! @Nickr

  • Fairey Barracuda 6.0 years ago

Good idea, quite frankly I had a notion to morph this into a Barracuda myself but I wasn’t feeling the personal interest so I didn’t bother. By all means use this as a base for another Barracuda - it needs a rather large chin intake and struts on the tailplane too. Good luck!

  • de Havilland Mosquito PR.XVI 6.0 years ago

Thanks kindly! @ThePilotDude and I agree with you there, ever since watching 633Sqn as a kid!

  • de Havilland Mosquito PR.XVI 6.0 years ago

Cheers mate! I remember reading somewhere due to the wooden construction it gave a poor return on radar - further adding to the allusiveness that made it a great raider. @Trainzo

  • de Havilland Mosquito PR.XVI 6.0 years ago

“Glide ratio of a boot” :) yeah I was hesitant about adding more wings as in the past I just ended up with a plane that had no stall point - so I decided to err on the side of caution rather mistakenly. Trim tabs where a little venture from off having two hinges for the elevators and tbh probably more hassle than they were worth. Feedback much appreciated - plenty of food for thought! @BogdanX

  • Tornado 6.0 years ago

Beautiful! My ipad can run this and a wingman!

  • Ranger 1 (Interstellar) 6.1 years ago

    Awesome movie!

  • Black hawk 6.1 years ago

Wow, along with that useful information and welcome was there an upvote making its way here? :) @CrashFighter05

  • He-111H-3 6.1 years ago

Awesome! One of the first things I built was a He-111!

  • Ohio Class Submarine 6.1 years ago

Crimson tide. Great movie. Great build once more!!

  • Short-Polikarpov Seagull 2.4 6.1 years ago

Most enjoyable, I can’t fathom out how you make a sea plane fly so well!

  • Short-Polikarpov Seagull 2.4 6.1 years ago

Like the idea, I’ll take her for a spin shortly!

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 6.1 years ago

    Interesting bit of info there!

  • Small Cargo 6.1 years ago

Reminds me of my first builds! Don’t be afraid to adjust the fuselage sections to make a more aerodynamic shape. You can also make them “shape around” wings sections and make quite realistic looking planes. Welcome to SP!!

  • Carat SonicJet (CA-180) 6.1 years ago

    That’s one LARGE bird!

  • D-10 Jäger 6.1 years ago

I’m a big fan of your work so humour me.... those screenshots make it look quite graceful and elegant, that plan view makes an absolute hash of those images. Nice build though!

  • Hawker Tempest V 6.1 years ago

P.s if upvotes are mandatory build a Russian Su-35/Mig29 - they seem to get them all! :)

  • Hawker Tempest V 6.1 years ago

Personally I wouldn’t have re-uploaded but I won’t judge - the original deserved more attention most definitely. Sometimes that’s the damn nuisance/mystery of this game. You build something over a period of months and it gets mediocre attention at best - cobble something together (teaser/video/comment) in a few hours and it storms ahead.

  • Vanguard Class Submarine 6.1 years ago

Brilliant, top job with this! 1:1 scale but of course!
