@EternalDarkness Yeah I know, I have dabbled in the dark arts of XML editing on previous aircraft but on this one, I wanted to have higher drag since WW1 aircraft were a jumble of struts and wiring. Take the Gotha WD 14, for example: https://preview.redd.it/gotha-wd-14-possibly-summer-1918-judging-by-the-naked-state-v0-4cn7jfpxb99e1.png?width=1080&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=2d99ae95858a2c93540ed3a8ec706fc7165ccf2b . I did reduce drag on some parts like the wings I think and the cowling just to get that takeoff performance on par with a Morane Type L but I quite enjoy battling with an underpowered brick of an aircraft which almost refuses to climb. It's fun and I can only hope to achieve something similar to this in real life once I obtain a pilot's license.
Thanks for the advice though man! It will all be taken into account in V.2!
@EternalDarkness The terrible flight characteristics are intentional, designed to replicated that of most early WWI planes and the slow-firing MG is designed to feel somewhat like a Lewis gun. I totally agree with you about the wingtips, it was part of the plan but slipped my mind. I'm trying to stick to a believable amount of power and drag coefficient and already I feel that 123 HP is a bit too much for an engine weighing 270 lbs but it wouldn't lift off right unless I had that much power due to the drag from the radial and the struts.
Thanks for the encouragement and the upvote too! I'll make a V.2 at some point maybe.
Really unrealistic flight model. That's definitely something to work on. It takes off in a distance lower than its own fuselage when it should take off in 5000 ft minimum.
Hello @SleepyKitty, nice video. @Torolnoue is saying something about how the forest is a beautiful place in a language called Kannada which is an Indian language.
I can't see the images?
+5Whisky Neat in SimplePlanes! Awesome! One of my favourite planes!
+4Can't wait for the next challenge!
+2It has been 12 days @Mitterbin. When do we get results?
+2@Mitterbin Awesome! Can't wait!
+2@Mitterbin cool thanks

Looks awesome
+1@Mitterbin Thanks bro! And yes I'd love to be tagged in your next post
+1@Mitterbin oh I'm sorry. I'd run on low or medium physics then if I were you
+1Is this still open?
+1You should make it a custom wing since that is the defining feature of this aircraft. Add the flaps, slats and those sexy hoerner wingtips.
+1Comically laggy! Looks beautiful though!
+1T
+1Where is @TheMouse ?
+1📌
+1Can't believe this got more upvotes than maxwell the cat lol
+1554kg? bro needs to lose some weight lol

Stunning replica
Looks a bit like a Japanese YF-23
