THE ARCUS
The Schempp-Hirth Arcus is a flapped Two Seater Class glider in production by Schempp-Hirth. It first flew 7 April 2009.
It is offered in addition to the Duo Discus which is an unflapped 20 metre two-seater, whose fuselage it shares.
The wings have flaperons integrated along the whole span.

This really deserves a lot more attention imo; this is an incredible build with a lot of effort put into it
As a professional glider pilot i can confirm this is the best ever glider in whole simple planes, i love it
love the fact that the wings has more parts than all of my gliders combined.... how did you have think of that? how is airfoil realistic how are the airbraks so good, and the cockpit like what. all i can say is amazing job.
@TheGliderGuy
stay in da basement
ad mor parts
@TheFlightGuySP Thanks so much dude amazing compliment!!
@AchbyzThePlaneBuilder That's amazing, my friend
Comically laggy! Looks beautiful though!
Arcus = Arceus
@Ilovegliders Yes thermals are the main way to gain altitude although what I’m talking about, what I’m talking about is how the wings of a glider effect how much drag is on the aircraft.
@MA2211CwCABaerospace not really we glider pilots circle in thermals to gain hight
We fo have bigger wings but we just thermal
@GuianLorenzo Thanks so much dude means a lot!
@Kikikokikomarumaru15000 Yea my part efficentie with this build was not optimal. i will make my next glider simpler. hope you still like it!
After removing 25% of the parts to have a smooth flying experience with a laptop that's being pushed to its limits, It flies pretty good, but please optimize your fricking aircraft 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
There is a way to make a square with a circle hole in it by using a hollow fuselage block, setting all corners to circular, and using the fill to cut out the round parts outside and turning it into a square. A wide rectangle with a circle hole is also simple, just make the circular hollow fuselage block itself really big, make the circle hole really small via inletThickness Front and Back, and cut out the round parts outside with fill.
.
The shape of the hole inside is dependent on the shape of the fuselage itself, but it can be turned into a rectangle by cutting off the circly bits outside.
Your red airbrakes and the cockpit plate thingy with the circle holes in it are hella unoptimized, no wonder your Laptop's dying 🙏🙏🙏 Please try to use this, it will cut down on part count slightly but it's better than more part count which leads to lag.
This is definitely one of the best 'general aviation' aircraft I've seen so far, you definitely did a fantastic job making it
@TheGliderGuy By having an elongated wing to reduce drag so they can stay up in the air for longer periods of time without the need for powered flight obviously.
Can you make a mobile friendly astir cs 77? It's my dream glider
@AchbyzThePlaneBuilder Dude This is an amazing compliment ,thanks so much!! What do you fly?
@Pnut hahaha yes my phone can somehow handel it better than my laptop! Thanks dude!
@ToeTips Thanks bro🙏 it means a lot to hear it from you!
Great details on the glider btw
And yup. My phone crashed :/
You make something so simple, yet so detailed.
@JBPAviation Thanks dude🙏
@MA2211CwCABaerospace how do you think gliders stay in the air?
