Stahlsturm (Steel Storm) stands as one of the most formidable engineering achievements of the Prussian war machine during the prolonged Great War in this alternate timeline where the First World War never ceased in 1918. As the conflict dragged on into the late 1920s, Prussia emerged as a relentless powerhouse, continuously pushing the limits of military innovation. Among their most terrifying creations was the Stahlsturm, a heavy tank that would come to symbolize the iron will and indomitable spirit of the Prussian Empire.

DESIGN

Built specifically for trench warfare, Stahlsturm was designed to crush fortifications, overrun defensive lines, and instill fear long before its guns opened fire. Its massive dimensions and ultra-wide tracks allowed it to traverse shell-pocked no man's lands and deep trench networks that would otherwise trap lesser vehicles.

Stahlsturm was operated by a crew of 12 to 15 men, including a commander, gunner teams for each weapon station, loaders, drivers, and support personnel required to keep the massive vehicle moving and firing efficiently.

While not invulnerable, Stahlsturm's armor was exceptionally thick for its time, more than capable of withstanding most contemporary artillery and armor-piercing rounds. Reports from the front frequently described enemy forces retreating in panic at the mere sight of the tank’s silhouette emerging from the smoke, its guns bristling, its tracks crushing the earth beneath it.

REPUTATION

More than just a weapon, Stahlsturm became a symbol of Prussia’s technological superiority and unyielding resolve. It was heavily featured in Prussian propaganda, often portrayed as an unstoppable juggernaut leading the charge toward ultimate victory.

On the battlefield, its reputation alone could break enemy morale. Entire units, especially those already exhausted from prolonged engagements, were known to scatter or surrender upon spotting a Stahlsturm in the distance, its approach heralded by the thunderous rumble of its tracks and the ominous glint of its gun barrels.
