I have the same issue. However, most of the schools in my state have doors that are really thick and can stop a bullet, but I still feel like teachers should be able to protect us with something.

The sink problem is related to the wheels. You might have noticed that only the side of the wheel that is facing down is "real," and has a hitbox, so you can't climb vertically with wheels. Rip wheels
If it helps any, some parts (shocks and pistons) do break under pressure, and some wings if they have too many G's. For the ability to simulate damage, I do these:
-have guns positioned so it will create damage in specified areas
-have engines set on different activation groups to simulate a failure
-I know if you hit a wing with fuel, and it doesn't immediately blow up, it will burn for x amount of time. This can be done with guns (like i mentioned) if you want your engines to smoke.
