I really like the cockpit on this, although some labelled diagrams of all the controls would be helpful as it took me some time to find everything listed on the startup sequence.

It's happened before, drama ensues, and the mods wipe it. Probably not a good idea to do it again.

@MOPCKOEDNISHE Thank you so much! This should be very helpful in making my mod. I've saved the code as requested so you can delete it.
Update: I implemented the code and everything works perfectly.

@RobertsAeronautics Honestly another year, although I don't really know.

  • What happened to RepublicOfCursedPlanes? 1.1 years ago

@RobertsAeronautics It's pretty much finished (I haven't asked in a while), but they haven't released it yet. I will ask them a little later when I get a chance.

They are still active in a small Discord server I'm in, but like me they are busy with education and irl stuff.

If you still need help, the first steps in the tutorial in this video might be helpful. I think there's also a certain version of Unity itself and the mod tools which I have just used today to create a new mod, which are explained in the video.

  • Help with Pictures? 1.1 years ago

Link formatting is disabled for users with no points for spam prevention, and also Imgur links don't work for some reason. I would recommend imgbb or postimages (you also need more points).

Hi, I'm creating a mod which uses multiple input controllers, and I was wondering if you'd be able to tell me how you got the values from them with scripts. Currently I can only use the value of one, but this mod has multiple on one part and they all work. (I'm happy to just look through the source code of this mod too).

  • Can anyone tall me whats wrong with my startup sequence 1.1 years ago

The code looks fine to me, but did you set the interactionType of your switches to Toggle?

  • Basic Autopilot 1.1 years ago

@GGundaMMM The modded version has a full interior and extra details, while the no mods version is a cargo version.

  • How to Use the Variables System in SimplePlanes - Part 1 1.1 years ago

    @Yoinkus What part didn't work?

  • Basic Autopilot 1.1 years ago

@GGundaMMM For more information read the FAQ of this post, but there is a version with mods and a version without (as of now the cockpit is vanilla), and I don't know the release date.

  • Can someone help me and tell me whats wrong here 1.1 years ago

Funky trees in label {} cannot be stacked. If the code above is everything in the label, I would use <size={Activate8 ? "100" : "0"}%> at the beginning.

  • How do I export a SimplePlane to a 3D printer? 1.1 years ago

I don't have much experience with mobile devices, but if it's an Android tablet, you can open the menu in the designer, and click on "3D Print/Export". This should export an OBJ file (I don't know where it will save it though). Transfer the OBJ file to your computer, and convert it to the STL format. Then, it can be imported into your slicer software. If you need further clarification feel free to ask.

@126 I've used a password manager and scrambled unique passwords for all my accounts (also my SP password is like 100 characters lol).

  • Bots Are Out Of Control (PSA & Rants) 1.1 years ago

@126 There was the whole verifpro thing a while ago where actual users got hacked, likely from reused passwords where other sites had data breaches and the user used the same password.

  • Bots Are Out Of Control (PSA & Rants) 1.1 years ago

I should also note that when I personally choose to visit a site (sometimes I get curious as to what exactly the scam even is), I use a new private window with my adblocker and many other privacy settings (also a new browser session too)). I should also note that aside from rare zero-day vulnerabilities (exploits in browsers themselves which websites can take advantage of), you generally won't get instantly hacked as long as you don't install/download anything (also always have a private/incognito window instead of a normal session).

  • Bots Are Out Of Control (PSA & Rants) 1.1 years ago

@126 It depends on what the link is. Some of them are scams or malicious (and if you don't know what you're doing then it's best to not visit those sites), but many are just dodgy articles on a website that while not necessarily is malware itself, but is not a trustworthy source of information. Additionally some of the links are directly to sites to buy scam products.

  • Bots Are Out Of Control (PSA & Rants) 1.1 years ago

Something else I noticed is markdown hyperlinks no longer work for 0 point users, which was likely added to make bot links more obvious.

  • Bots Are Out Of Control (PSA & Rants) 1.1 years ago

@126 And on that note, who is behind the bots? It could be just some AI, but why make a "bot comment" / "bot forum" about something like Google or some other reputable brand? I saw one recently here which is just various ways of formatting a Google link.

  • Bots Are Out Of Control (PSA & Rants) 1.1 years ago

@126 Interestingly they all read like they've been written by an AI. It's like someone just puts prompts like "Write me an article on [insert sketchy product/service]" and pastes the output into a forum post. The bots understanding how to create an account and post a forum/comment is also interesting, and also where the markdown errors come from. They are trying to make formatting like links and bold text, but it's the wrong formatting style (that being said, some of them do get the markdown right).

    @Boeing727200F "they come in groups"
I spent 5 hours going through chains of comments, accounts, and posts once. I've seen over 10 comments on some posts.
There are so many more that we don't see because they are on very old posts no one sees and I only find them because of the same bot commenting on newer posts and I check its comments.

I should also add that I find myself to be insanely good at recognizing bot forums by title, and even bot accounts just by the name if I see them in my notifications (and the comment/forum itself with markdown fails and obvious links and advertising is a dead giveaway).

  • Common problems and their solutions 1.1 years ago

One thing I would add to this is calculateDrag = false and dragScale = 0 are not the same thing. While they both remove drag, calculateDrag = false removes drag calculations entirely, and can improve performance with lots of parts, while dragScale = 0 still calculates drag, but scales it to 0.

  • CedCo - LiAs R17 Venom II Revamp 1.1 years ago

@FlyingPotato_131 Your ILS is the only one I've seen so far which supports any heading, and has a simple latitude and longitude input making it easy to add lots of mod airports (another one I've seen uses two latitudes and two longitudes for some reason).

  • USS Makin Island LHD-8 1.1 years ago

@basedpilot69 Hello, here is the mod.

  • CedCo - LiAs R17 Venom II Revamp 1.1 years ago

This is legit a pretty fun plane to fly (I've been testing the ILS a lot)

  • In Simpleplanes (game), my list of saved planes don’t show names anymore 1.1 years ago

This is a bug when you have too many planes saved. I personally archive the ones I don't use in another folder, or you could back them up as unlisted posts.

  • Mikeska Airport 1.1 years ago

@Airbus332 @TheFlightGuySP I have been inspecting all map plugins for integration into the SWL-120's systems in the form of waypoints and ILS, and I can confirm even with just the Droplet, I get stuttering with this mod.

  • Instrument Landing System 1.2 years ago

Hello again, just tested this, and I really like it, especially its support for headings not on the four cardinal directions and easy addition of mod airports. I think I'll use this specific ILS (with credit) in my SWL-120.

  • Basic Autopilot 1.2 years ago

@Rb2h It has not, and I can still view it on my end. That's weird.

  • Drift Plane 1.2 years ago

@BaconEggs You will be happy to know I have just started preparing to add support for THE ITEMS into the SWL-120's FMC and other systems.

There will be many waypoints, as well as (eventually) full ILS support for every runway.

  • Basic Autopilot 1.2 years ago

@TTL Some of the mod parts are 3D modelled externally and have no in-game part count, but if I were to assemble a version with no mods (assuming a few hundred parts for each 3D modelled mod part too), it would be well north of 30,000. That's a very rough estimate, but I do have a full interior with ultra high detailed seats and overhead panels, plus 4000 part engines, plus a full cargo bay and all sorts of other stuff. I don't actually have that version, as I built these parts separately and then modded them, plus for the overhead panels and seats, I calculated the positions and then constructed the mod parts for those in Unity using single copies of each. In terms of modded part count, you can see the statistics for those at the end of this forum. The cockpit adds about 1500 parts and drops the FPS from 144 (or higher) to 30.

  • Basic Autopilot 1.2 years ago

@TTL The plane uses mod parts, but they are purely details and not functional (the autopilot, in fact the entire cockpit, is 100% vanilla).

    Advanced Autopilot Here

This basic autopilot has altitude, heading, and speed control, with adjustable vertical speed and bank angle. The next step is to add support for flight plans, with autonavigation to a series of waypoints.

  • Advice? 1.2 years ago

@Radkiel Good luck then, I guess it might also be that I'm not very good at extremely complex mechanisms, moreso at coding.

  • Advice? 1.2 years ago

    @126 yes

  • Advice? 1.2 years ago

@126 From a quick look it seems like the mechanism is simply too complex for SP. My landing gear does have a complex retraction mechanism, however it's all on one simple axis (I kinda cheated there, as both struts are on the same axis unlike most irl planes).
