@nwa I should also say this, they can only go like not that high, AEW/AWACS Airship is impossible XD
.
ASW though... yeah nah, patrol aircrafts can search larger area, and more effective. the thing is, since guided torpedoes, everything can hunt subs today(as opposed with depth charges like in WW2 or sumfn)
@nwa the history's great.. airships are great if you wanna see high, have no threat, and need something to stay in one place for a LOOOOONG time(we're talking 1+ days), so it really doesn't mesh well in modern times since helicopters could be more agile, smaller, and can carry heavier
@Pakdaaircraftindustries tag me if you have any problems or just need help! though.. please make it have liiitle to small drag please so I can load it XD
@SuperSuperTheSylph @upperflat true XD, though to be fair to SP, it waaas originally less for planes(especially their autocannons) and more for.. Tanks, IFVs, and Ships.. that's probably why they have the lowest caliber be 50mm which is impossible for a normal plane to carry, let alone for it to fire faster than 600rnds/min lmfao
.
for that reason, I somewhat propose separating air and land cannon... WAIT I HAVE AN IDEA, HOW ABOUT ITS STILL ONE PART, BUT LIKE TOGGLING BETWEEN IT HAVING SLUG OR BALL BULLET, IT TOGGLES BETWEEN LAND AND AIR
.
LIKE LAND IMPLIES CANNONS BETWEEN 50mm TO 1,000mm, BUT AIR BETWEEN 15mm TO 50mm!!! HOWBOUTDAT
@nwa hmmph, I'm not dead.
.
really though, it's rather bland without the window frames, like it doesn't even have to be flush, it just needs to look like it exists
@nwa as along as you dedrag it to 0 drag, sure XD.
.
orrrr you could use this subassembly, make sure that the weight of the craft(after installing) is exactly 100,000kg.
.
also align the CoM with the central gyroscope.
.
the way I do it, after I'm done making the airship, is installing this exactly on the CoM and adding weight to the central block of this engine
that way the CoM stays exactly the same
@ChaseRacliot honestly I also don't know, however I do have some theory(and how to pinpoint the problems)
[1]. Elevator - one overpowers the other, this could either be : (1). you somehow typo'd the deflection angle of the rudder, or rarely (2). your trim is reversed(so it actually induces a slight roll however small)
[2]. Gear - nuff said, sometimes it does things.. like one time i was only wrong by 0.1 degree(cause I set my rotation nudge small) and it spun stuff. could also be physics but personally I haven't had that much trouble with gears which is surprising.. also maybe asymmetric gears but that's even rarer
[3]. CoM - sometimes detailing... can also mean the CoM is off balance by like a liiitle bit, which is why I find it important to start with 0.001 massScale of anything and everything so I know if it is off balance.
[4]. Drag - rare, and mostly usually result in just autoroll(as opposed to taking off). it's usually either improperly dedragged details or in one occasion, wrongly redirected drag points(caused by the rare "off by 0.01/0.001" nudge problem)
[5]. wings - sometimes it's because you forgot to change the airfoil on the other wing, or maybe you actually need more lift.
[6]. Anhedrals - oH this one is Yak-38's and Harrier's weird problem.. they both initially just straight up.. okay so have you slipped before? as in fell in your ass slipped? the roll is the equivalent of that, BOY it's so unstable initially in roll axis that a slight tilt straight up offset it
thus concludes my troubleshooting guide.. atleast one that I have encountered so far
.
oh, one of the ways I somewhat able to solve directional instability is using YawRate FT on the rudder/gear, you can grab it in like, my more latest PEAs tail vertical rudders if you want a quick fix.. also improves dogfight head-on accuracy cause you don't wiggle as hecc when handled by AI
okay so! two ways to go about it!
.
first, start with 0 mass everything(except wing.. though it depends, 0.5 mass is fine) and adjust from there. balance is crucial.. so does engine HP(set it lowww) and drag(set it relatively high, talking like idk, 3,000-6,000 drag?)
.
second, craft as you would, double(or triple)the liftScale on the wings, add DRAG, adjust engine power till it likes you just about enough
@Bigolfishboy uhhh, keep the CoM close to water, imagine buoyancy is like a bicycle where the point contacts water .
.
this is also why you see some createros(including me) instead opt for having small buoyant fuselages on the front and rear side edges of the hull so instead of a bicycle, it holds like a table.
.
also, add a large main wing on the center(which then we'd resize) so the ship straightens out after turning.
.
VTOL nozzles work underwater, so as long as the engines don't get submerged/destroyed, you can in fact put it underwater! (this is also why you sometimes see submarines here with like a buoyant VTOL engine nearby by the submarine)
@nwa USA used them on Afghanistan tho, not really blimps and more of an observation barrage balloon so that's fun lol
+1@nwa well, you're close to my rank so, best of luck :3
+1@nwa hmhmh
+1that being said, North Korea would.
+1@nwa I should also say this, they can only go like not that high, AEW/AWACS Airship is impossible XD

well, that's definitely a cat move
+1oho
+1airships are, essentially, great at being watchtowers

gAH I need to renew the license plate of the Mars.
+1@nwa well, regardless, I guess we can be friends! caaaarrr frieeeends! XD
+1.
I also have a simpler low-part one but it's not a pickup
@nwa hmmph, I'm not dead.
+1.
really though, it's rather bland without the window frames, like it doesn't even have to be flush, it just needs to look like it exists
also, while a vibe, I think thisll.. this'll do good if you add frames
+1@nwa ...*cough* who doesn't exist no more? me????
+1defineeto spotraitu! :3333
+1oh thas beautiful
+1@SuperSuperTheSylph do a flip
+1@Speedhunter same as Miss E, busy but active! XD

how's studying treating you? nice and loving so far? :3
@SuperSuperTheSylph meanie.

+1@SuperSuperTheSylph hOW DARE
+1@SuperSuperTheSylph dONT SAY THAT ONLY ME IS ALLOWed!
+1@SuperSuperTheSylph gAH

+1@YarisSedan is fine, I'm lazy too lmfao.

I think a LMG or a makeshift rocket launcher like this improvised one lol
@Speedhunter SPEEEEE!! HOWSAR CHUU!? KYAAA WELCOME BACCC

+1yES.@TheLoadingGorilla admittedly, it has a lower part count than what I was initially expecting, which came as a decent surprise, fun! :3
