Interesting design! Wings and fins look functional, fuselage is well constructed. The exhaust vents look extremely cool. The only thing I don't like is the nose, it's too small to house the sensors needed for such a plane and its downward bend forces the nose landing gear to be too long. Overall, very impressive work. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you.
@Numbers My point here is that when people say they wish they lived in the past, what they are really saying is that they don't understand the past very well at all.
Harpoons are anti-ship missiles, and they're effective, but they're not true cruise missiles in the strategic sense. You can't flatten an installation with them like you could with a Raduga Kh-22. Incidentally, my most recent upload features player-guided Kh-22 missiles. Check it out.
@rexzion Funny enough, that's pretty close to real-life issues that had to be solved over the years. In the early days of jets, guns would be positioned in the nose and the shell casings would sometimes get eaten by the engine air intake causing a variety of bad things to happen.
Other times, explosive gasses and residue would build up in improperly ventilated gun compartments, causing some pretty scary stuff.
With machines so complicated, and often crossing the limit of human experience, there's always an element of trial-and-error.
This is the same variant on display at the National Air and Space Museum in Virginia. It's parked right next to it's two greatest rivals, a F-105D Thunderchief and a modernized F-4J Phantom II. The Mig is tiny by comparison, and you can really get a sense of the David-and-Goliath struggle that transpired between these planes over Southeast Asia.
@PhantomAviator I think the F-15 and Su-27 (and the Su-27 derivatives) are pretty close to one another, but they're both the most successful fighters in service today.
I think the P-47 and deHavilland Mosquito might be the best multi roles of all time, by virtue of the sheer number of missions carried out.
@PhantomAviator Yes, this is why I do 10 saves per project. I often make mistakes without noticing for a long time, usually I can undo them without reloading but sometimes they're so big that I have to go back to before the mistake.
@PhantomAviator I'm sorry. For a long time, I thought governments and corporations did stuff because they thought it was the right decision, or at least made sense. That was a load of crap I probably picked up from watching too much TV.
@rexzion What @edensk said is correct. If you look at a missile you will notice fins halfway along its length, these provide a pivot-point for the control fins in the rear to rotate the missile.
I've been burned by Mac a few times in the past. The software's pretty good, and the packaging can't be beat, but their hardware, pricing, service and ethics are intolerable to me. Simpleplanes is an old game, and no computer built in the last 8 years should have any trouble running at least 750 parts or so.
I don't mean to insult your taste or anything. And I wish you good luck with the search for your next computer.
There's a lot of us wrestling with this kind of stuff, you are not alone. I've heard others say almost this exact thing on discord recently, as a matter of fact. Hang in there, it's been an awful year but there are good ones ahead. Stay strong, I know it's not easy going through it and I respect your struggle.
@Pnicks15 No, no. It handles fine. I mean in real life the plane was dangerous and unsuitable for combat! But what you've done here is really quite good and I really like it.
@AndrewHarrison The plane went into a vertical spin and couldn't be recovered so he ejected. The thing is, early model 104's ejected the pilot downward through the floor and the ejector rocket caught his head on fire. He was ok, but it was a hell of a mess.
I'll start off with what I like about this plane. First, the detail: this plane has great detail, all the panel hatches, plate seams, and other little bits really make it look more believable. The custom exhaust nozzles and afterburner look awesome. You clearly designed it to fit a certain kind of role and it fits well. I like the overall proportions of the wings, find and fuselage, everything looks to be the right size and the right place there. You made 3D wings, which immediately sets this plane apart from most builds on here. Overall this is a good job!
What can you improve? Wings. Modern jets don't have elliptical wings, use straight or bent leading and trailing edges. Landing gear. Tricycle landing gear works differently than what most people think. You dont have wheels in the front and wheels in the back like a ground vehicle. Instead, you have main wheels that carry the weight of the plane, and nose wheels that are basically just there to keep the nose up (and maybe steer). The main wheels go just a tiny bit behind the center of mass (red ball), this allows the plane to do a wheelie on takeoff (called "rotation") that greatly increases lift, the only plane I know of that does not do this is the B-52. So put the main wheels just a tiny bit behind and under the red ball, and keep the red ball between the main wings. Also, learn how to make custom landing gear.
I used to want a Soviet BTR-80 armored troop carrier as my apocalypse home/vehicle, but then I read an article that pointed out how military vehicles require special heavy equipment in order to keep them running. So now I think a Hilux based fighting vehicle would probably be ideal. The professional term for these kind of homemade monsters is "technical" and theres a two whole subreddits devoted to them if you're looking for ideas. ONE and TWO Warning, reddit is not as kid-friendly as our forums.
I've been friends with a few skinheads over the years, all of them anti-nazi, one of whom was even black. It always bothered them how white supremacists had managed to invade their movement.
As for the kolovrat, it's the same story. I love pre-Christian symbology. Runes, the old-gods, that stuff is both a part of our shared history and testifies to aspects of human nature. But just like the working class youth movement, nazis have widely adopted the so-called "Black Sun" since the days of Heinrich Himmler. I understand you might associate it as a talisman of your country or your people, but in society that symbol is more closely associated with people hellbent on the extermination of slavic people.
@KangaKangaTheRoo I showed this video to a coworker who was on a carrier back in the 90's. He told me this crazy story about a F-18 pilot who accidentally released a bomb while the plane was getting ready for takeoff. According to him, everybody crapped their pants and then got back to work. Safety features are so important.
@KangaKangaTheRoo There are a couple things that have to happen for the warhead to arm or the rocket to fire. However, it's still a tube full of highly flammable rocket fuel and explosives rolling down the deck at 80mph. It's impressive how effective the safety features were, even back then, but it's still pretty freaky.
The Luftwaffe had already fought in the Spanish Civil War and conquered seven different countries by the time they attacked England. Not only did they have more experienced pilots than the RAF, but the English pilots only experience came from their disastrous and limited attempts to defend France.
Germany only ran short of experienced pilots after the Battle of Britain because the battle itself was so costly.
I can't roll my eyes hard enough.

+1The wheels look a bit small for such a large plane. Also, exposed props are like a gigantic lighthouse beacon for radar.
