@RedRoosterII Yes, you can hear his affection for her. "You can't hurt this plane," he says at one point.
The 105 was unique for her generation. The largest single engine, single seater. Among the other Century Series fighters (F-100, F-101, F-102, F-104, F-106) the Thunderchief was the only one to prove itself in combat, none of the others had a single confirmed air to air victory. Not bad, considering all the others were designed primarily as interceptors and the Thud was a bomber. Her pilots loved her.
@RedRoosterII The WINGS doc mostly covers the F-105 model G , the two-seater SAM suppressing "Wild Weasel" variant.
This version is the D variant, it made up the bulk of the production run and also handled the majority of Airforce strike sorties during Operation Rolling Thunder. They also talk about it on WINGS but for more specific info, I reccomend this guy.
@RedRoosterII You're welcome to try. This is probably my least popular build. If you do, I recommend you use the same weapons loadout as this is the exact same one used to strike North Vietnamese ground targets. The high speed makes it remarkably accurate for dive bombing and the Vulcan/Sidewinder combo make an effective defense.
I did a ton of research on the 105-D and I can answer any questions you might have, or at least point you in the right direction.
Don't upgrade to a new plane just because you can. Higher ranked planes face higher ranked enemies. If you lack the resources to properly fill a plane with upgrades, then wait to acquire it. A vanilla tank, plane or ship is a sitting duck at any rank.
And you included a pipper. You guys are heroes. Here, have my upvote. Also, you could probably simulate the siren sound by hiding a modded engine inside the fuselage.
You should build whatever inspires you! You do good work and I think a lot of people really admire your skill, so don't worry about what you should or shouldn't make. Just make what you really like.
Yes, the P-51 is the most over-used aircraft on this website, slightly beating the (almost identical looking) BF-109 and Spitfire. Words fail to describe how sick I am of those three planes.
No wings, no machineguns, too many wheels in the landing gear, no discernable propeller, too many seats, not nearly enough horsepower. I am almost certain that the 8th Airforce would be out of luck if they were issued this aircraft to defend its bombers from the predation of the Luftwaffe.
@Minecraftpoweer I mean blow through the straw so you don't have to put your head inside your computer case! lol
I understand broke. Seriously though, don't touch anything inside the case. Just putting a finger on a stick of RAM can damage it and make it slower if you don't know how to properly ground yourself. Anyway, fans make noise, as long as it's spinning, it's still good. Just get some of that dust out of there.
You gotta be careful with the GA hate, a lot of our best makers are wild about that stuff. I would also recommend you never say anything bad about the Avro Vulcan or TSR2, emotions run hot around those two.
Get a can of compressed air, most office supply stores carry it. Or just close your eyes and try blowing out the dust with a straw. This is an easy fix, just be careful not to touch anything inside the case.
@Zoomzoom999 Some parts can use multiple paint colors at the same time. The sections of the part correspond to the different names, some parts have more sections than others, some can only use one.
I prefer accuracy over detail. Some people spend weeks adding stickers and signs and textures to their plane, then put the landing gear in the wrong place and make the wings too small. FIRSTI look for the features of the plane that make it unique. (The huge afterburners on the Mig-29, the long nose and gull wings on a Stuka, the moving nose on a Concorde)
Second I look for performance. Can it land safely? Does it fly properly? Does it turn way too fast?
THIRD I look for authenticity. Is it the right shape and size? Is it proportioned well? Does it carry the right weapons?
FOURTH Last is detail. Detail is extra. It doesn't do anything but it looks cool. Cool looking stuff that doesn't work is not cool to me. Building replicas means learning about how something works, how it was made, not just slapping a shark mouth on the nose. Building creative, imaginary things should still be about making something that works, that is believable, that visually matches what it is supposed to do.
Memes are a great way to get easy upvotes. Unfortunately, this game is littered with players that EZ-moded their way to gold or platinum, but never learned how to build, and nobody upvotes a white-level plane made by a gold-rated player. Just something to think about.
Guys, he's not telling people they can or can't do anything. He's just asking people not to, and explaining why he feels that way. "Byebye" posts are depressing at best and toxic at worst, nobody benefits from them. We had a guy on here earlier this week saying he was deleting all his stuff because he hated the idea of being part of this community. We can all do without that.
No one is telling anyone what to do, just asking. Like, "Hey, please don't crap in my yard. Thanks."

This is not a teaser. This is boring.

+1Awesome job. I love seeing these 1930's French designs on the front page!
Inhumanly good, as expected.
Why did you make it so gigantic?

I wonder if Fiat had a good reputation back when they mostly made airplanes. lol
Anyway, another beautiful bird, nice work.
+1@RailfanEthan I would not know, I don't think I got higher than the Stug.

+3@T8flightcrafts lol
@Minecraftpoweer Excellent. It pleases me to see people getting involved in their computer hardware like this. Good luck to you, sir.
@T8flightcrafts I don't hate them, but I am tired of them.
You should build whatever inspires you! You do good work and I think a lot of people really admire your skill, so don't worry about what you should or shouldn't make. Just make what you really like.
+1@Minecraftpoweer Dude, just leave the fan alone, is it a case fan or part of the CPU or GPU?

Sweet interior.

+1@Fishy26 You could make the J-79's arch-nemesis, the venerable Tumansky R-11
@Fishy26 Gonna do some piston engines or only jets?

+1@CoolPeach You've done a great job, and I think he agrees.
+1I want to give you extra upvotes just for making Bogdanx fly something with so many parts!
+1You like his posts because he was stealing them from our most talented builders.
+1SQUIRREL I LOVE YOU
@Tang0five Whoa, a Victor? That's a tough build. Also, very cool.
@Chancey21 Yeah. I made one plane with working dials, but I don't think it's worth all the issues so I don't do that anymore.

You make all those dials yourself? Very nice.

+2@BaconRoll I see, I will delete my misleading comment.
OK
@jamesPLANESii I know that, but thank you for sharing with the class. :)

+1@jamesPLANESii XD You are such a kiwi! Nobody outside of Australia (and its satellites) knows what a ute is!
This post is crap, but I'm gonna miss you, Diego. I wish you well, wherever you go.
+2The most over rated vehicle in all of the second World War.
OCD? I'll show you OCD.

It's (it is) a contraction!

+2Upload limit is awesome. Some people spend months building a single plane, and they get buried under piles of 5 minute uploads.
