I'll give you an example a friend reluctant to interact with other users on subjects like this gave me. Let's say you are going to a coffee shop to get a coffee. You want a good cup of coffee. Of course, you'll first go to a coffee shop you know has good coffee. If everyone is talking good stuff about their coffee and everybody goes there, it must be worth checking out.
On the other hand, if you stray into the coffee shop known for bad coffee or not known at all, and get some great coffee, you'll tell your friends, and they'll come to check it out. That's why good builds by less popular builders get so many upvotes.
But if you go into a mediocre coffee shop and get a mediocre coffee, you won't even mention being there. You won't advertise that coffee shop to others, and it won't get new customers.
There's one trick to fix that. I don't think anyone has eve used it on a build except me, despite me advertising it all over the place.
Your problem is drag. You need a lot of power to overcome it, making the plane accelerate very quickly, and making power-to-weight ratio in excess of unrealistic 2:1.
The fix is one of many SimplePlanes exploits. This exploit uses airbrake. Now, here's what you should do to:
Step 1: make the plane realistic in all other aspects. Wing loading, mass, CoM/CoL/CoT. power...
Put that airbrake on the plane, and edit "x" value until you get your intended max speed. If you did everything right, brake will be glitching. Place it on your plane along the centerline and nudge up and down to negate any pitch up or pitch down.
What you achieved by doing this is reduction of drag. Basically, if you did everything right, your plane now has realistic drag.
It's amazing. I love how the tracks follow the terrain. Cannon works great, but the range is a bit short. I'll have to steal that trick with headlights. I'd have never thought of doing it like that.
Welcome to the community. Read the rules here. You will gain points (the number in the white square next to your username). One "Upvote" on a plane you upload brings 15 points, and an upvote on the forum post brings 2 points. Once you reach 100 points, your point field (currently white) will turn bronze, at 1000 points silver, at 5000 gold, and black (we call it platinum) at 25000 points. To tag a person in the comment, put "@" in front of their username, or hit the "Reply" button on their comment (ex: @Pricey123). This will send notification to the person you mentioned. I wish you a happy stay in the SimplePlanes community, and a lot of points.
Great work on the tracks. They held up great on some pretty rough terrain. The thingy looks amazing too. Only thing I'd suggest changing are turret inputs. You'd get much more accurate aiming with something like sum(Roll) for traverse. Oh, and maybe add a camera to the gunner's position so the gun can be aimed in first person. Still, amazing build. I had quite a bit of fun running it around Bandit airport.
Really nice build for its part count. Cockpit could have been a bit more realistic, but it's usable. Maybe a bit more opacity on the wings. Performance are close to how I'd expect the real thing to fly.
By the way, you have a typo in the description. It says "WWII".
Plutonium weighs around 19,840kg/m^3. A sphere of 1.5m in diameter (this sphere) has a volume of 14.14m^3. If it were made of plutonium, it would weigh 280537.6kg. More than 20 times the weight you have here (:
@GermanPaperProjects I am not a racist. I believe all people are born equal, and race or genetics do not, on their own, dictate person's character or lifestyle.
I believe in unlimited freedom of speech, and in simple language that uses the simplest possible label for everything, regardless of how self-entitled people feel about it.
@Fish83828 nope. I've had it with all the drama. Somebody else can lost their faith in humanity every day while looking at all the NSFW builds and idiotic arguments that have been reported XD
I had a very long break with detailed builds, made a few failed builds, and now I'm working on a masterpiece to put all my previous builds to shame, having finally fully mastered the new stuff. I don't see why you wouldn't come back.
While the ship looks very nice, idea of having two different calibers of big guns is awful. Such system was used on large warships until HMS Dreadnought introduced uniform main battery. When you have two sets of similar guns with different ballistic properties, it creates confusion with fire control, as you're not sure which splashes are from which guns and can't appropriately adjust fire.
@DaVinci all these parts are coming for non-VR version. You can't build in VR, so all the parts need to be available in the base game Then you take a craft from the base game and play with it in VR if you have VR.
@PotatoJenkins1 read the rest of the post. It later turned out it was due to my brief rant about BLM protests on a different server, one that is not upen to the community.
@CenturyAerospace WNP did mention additional features to the cut option in one of the pinned comments. What you are talking about moght be one of those options. All we can do is wait and see when the update drops.
I suggest putting the deadline to "one week after the gauges update". Most planes from the era featured open cockpits, and one week after the full update should give everyone enough time to incorporate new parts into their builds, while the time until the update will probably be long enough for people to prepare their builds.
Biggest one is SPBC. Pretty much everyone is there. The few who aren't have been banned for various offenses. You can join that one through a link in my bio.
The best one is SPMC, but that one's very difficult to join.
I run a dedicated shipbuilding server, Port SP, also accessible through my bio.
@MrShenanigans the biggest trick was the choice of the build. I have picked a barge because the hull can be made with only three parts. As for the rest, I have picked the most notable details and left out the less important ones.
A great looking build, but lacking functionality. First and the biggest problem I found is that many hemispheres used for rivets aren't attached and are falling off and rattling. Second is that it accelerates like a top fuel dragster. There are codes to be found for slow acceleration but still enough power to climb hills. Also, cockpit should extend high above the vehicle when missiles are erected so that it can achieve a lock behind terrain.
Another thing is inaccuracy. While the vehicle looks like the real thing, missiles do not. There are two missiles this vehicle can carry: Iskander ballistic missile and a cruise missile that's packed in a tube before launch. Also, doors open and missiles erect one by one.
You could have also automated the whole system so it works with a push of a button. Code you would need is basically the code for landing gear doors. Pressing a single button would lower the supports, open one side, erect and activate one missile, and lift the cockpit on hidden pistons so it can aim. Launching the first missile could automatically lower its rail, close its container, and open the other side and lift the other missile.
@KnightOfRen because I just spent fifteen minutes removing fifty-ish add a part posts of one giant, branching string, going up and down each branch to get them all. I have decided to stop the resurgence of this spammy behavior by reminding the community that it's against the rules.
That part count though...

So cute :)
+4Set them on pistons that will extend on pitch, pushing actual beacons out through the dummy reverse lights.
+4Yes. Input you need is "Activate1". Replace "1" with the number of Ag you need

+4Where's landing gear?

+4Welcome back. It's been a while. It's good to see some of the old guard coming back.
+3@GUGUPIGEON by the way, I really like the build. Tag me when you release the finished version so I don't miss it.
+3Great work on the tracks. They held up great on some pretty rough terrain. The thingy looks amazing too. Only thing I'd suggest changing are turret inputs. You'd get much more accurate aiming with something like

Very fun to use. Machine guns are failing to lead the target properly, but all other weapons are absolutely devastating.
+3Really nice build for its part count. Cockpit could have been a bit more realistic, but it's usable. Maybe a bit more opacity on the wings. Performance are close to how I'd expect the real thing to fly.

Happy SP Birthday B. Here's for the many years to come!

+3@ACGspOfficial let's say a winner should receive ten upvotes. You go to ten of their builds, and upvote them. That's really all there is to it.

+3Sucks to see that the old problems still persist, though it only stands to reason. You're doing a great job keeping them in check, guys.
+3It looks amazing, especially for the part count. Hopefully I won't forget to test it when I'm free.
+3Very nice ship.
+3That's a very detailed detail.
+3I'm not sure you want the gun to elevate with the sight, especially on a mortar. You can't see where you're shooting at greater distances.
+3I had a very long break with detailed builds, made a few failed builds, and now I'm working on a masterpiece to put all my previous builds to shame, having finally fully mastered the new stuff. I don't see why you wouldn't come back.

+3@Goolumoolu those who participated in the challenge knew how to delete the wall. Challenge has, however, been closed for over three years.
+3@CharlesDeGaulle they will stop when they see that nobody cares.
+3They use smokeless powder.
+3Input that would maintain a set rollAngle, or one that would force the rate of heading, if you want to use funky trees.
+3Not bad at all. Proportion is a bit off in some areas, but overall a good build.
+3@TirpitzWantsPlanes link me to the original so I can compare. Don't worry, I can see removed comments.

+3@Lerkov1991 unfortunately, due to Google's policies, Android no longer supports mods.

This is a good example of a successor build. Significant changes, all listed in description, auto-credit and credit in description. Good job.
+3Very nice build. A bit too heavy for my laptop, but it looks amazing.
+3@TheMegaMauster he keeps getting banned, not deleting accounts. It's a permabanned user.
+3@NightmareCorporation better go with an iron cross or something. People don't like swastika.
+3@FLOWRIDER0 I was learning how to pirate games for the phone, and SP happened to be the one I pirated. I soon decided to buy it, as I liked it a lot.
+3Very smooth build, and the proportion is spot on. I suggested using custom control surfaces on the next one.
+3It flies quite well. I'm not impressed by the turrets though. Lack of crosshair makes it difficult to hit anything.
