@randomusername eh, it's full of very skilled builders, and we chill. You know, discuss things like how can you build a windshield of a GA plane and whose mom is more gay...
SP Masters is a closed group into which only the best builders get invited. And not even all of the best builders. You can join Builders Chat through the link in my bio though. That's the biggest SP-related chat on Discord.
@Bradford go to my latest plane (a single engine high wing). Most of it has its drag disabled and has 0.5 mass, which gives more realistic specs. You can also take edited rotators (including hinges in wings that have their base mesh disabled).
Your post has been removed. Please read these rules about posting planes.
Please try to make major changes to a plane before posting it. Simply painting an object a different color, or adding a few guns is not enough to consider it your own. In the future please credit the original maker, and try to post your own work.
@Bradford there's this XML guide and my simple airfoil. To connect control surfaces, optimally use hinge rotators, and set min input on flaps rotators to "0" so flaps can't extend the wrong way. Use scaled down wings inside those custom surfaces, as fuselages don't generate lift. Also, use Overload mod to take the full advantage of XML editing.
@WrightAirCo . Not link to the page containing image. Open image in the new tab and then take the link.
@Bradford excellent choice. If you need a guide on custom control surfaces, just ask. Those are always a big plus. You may also edit mass and drag for realistic performance.
@JohnnyBoythePilot that sounds great. Sorry, I'm getting a bit annoyed by questions that are already answered in the challenge description. I'm starting to see them everywhere :)
@JohnnyBoythePilot what part of "two to ten seats" stated in the challenge requirements is so hard to understand? Every participant so far opted for either a single seater or twenty seater.
@Chancey21 it's a commercial transport aircraft employed by charter airlines, air deliveries, skydiving schools, etc. It's not a personal pleasure/convenience plane. I did say that challenge doesn't accept every aircraft that qualifies as a GA in requirements, as that would include a number of C-130s, 737s, 707s,...
@PointlessWhyshouldi how heavy must your plane be for two engines not to be able to lift it off the ground? Planes that fit this challenge are mostly under 1000kg empty weight.
@Chancey21 challenge specifies up to 10 seats. Twin Otter seats 20. Challenge is focused on aircraft for personal transport. Something you'd use to fly yourself and your friends/family to another town or for recreational flying.
@Zippy6 dilapidated one would probably be more difficult if you want to go all out. It would include paint chips and parts where paint and vinyls peeled off. It would also increase part count. Other than that, it's just a matter of 0.8 gloss and 0.2 gloss.
@Jacobdaniel if it's a twin seater plane for personal transport but capable of aerobatics, it's good. If it's one of those race planes or a military trainer, it's not.
It looks absolutely stunning. Maybe remove the exterior details like paint scheme and ribs of control surfaces for performance test version and keep them for public version. I guess they have no mass and drag, and will thus not impact performance. I will judge looks on public version and ask a friend with a more powerful computer to check if performance are the same.
@T8flightcrafts I'll probably upload a list of inspirations tomorrow. It'll include some conventional single and twin engines, as well as some less conventional examples I'd like to see.
@Kimcotupan15 you can xml as much as you want. You can check the drag of that little GA I posted yesterday to see how little there actually should be. That plane has realistic engine power and mass, and realistic max speed. That means drag must be realistic too.
@CRJ900Pilot Cessna 208 is a borderline example. The smaller version does fit, but the bigger one doesn't. If you have read the requirements, you'd have seen that maximum capacity allowed is ten seats, and no helicopters are allowed.
@asteroidbook345 yes, you can.
@T8flightcrafts I can't view that for some reason. What is it?

Thanks for the entry.
+1@ND40X that's great. I'm looking forward to your entry.
+2@Gareth12345 I'm glad to hear that.

+1Now you tag winners maybe? So they would, you know, be aware of this post and stuff? :)
@Kimcotupan15 sure. If you find one matching the requirements. For example, Tecnam P2006T.
+1@MlgNoob thanks.
@CustomAircraftMods if I get five comments asking for that, I will. You are the second :)

+4@Brields95 oh, Pipistrel is ultralight... well, a borderline example between light and ultralight :)
@Brields95 which one on that list is ultralight?

+1@switdog08 yes. It says in requirements that XML editing is encouraged.

@ChiChiWerx indeed, I must do that.
It's a Dyke Delta. There is information on it online.
+1Thanks for the entry.
+1@JohnnyBoythePilot can't wait to see it then.
@JohnnyBoythePilot that sounds great. Sorry, I'm getting a bit annoyed by questions that are already answered in the challenge description. I'm starting to see them everywhere :)
@BoganBoganTheMan smallest version does. Safe bet is a slightly smaller Beechcraft Queen Air.
@JohnnyBoythePilot what part of "two to ten seats" stated in the challenge requirements is so hard to understand? Every participant so far opted for either a single seater or twenty seater.
+2You can design your own, smaller DHC-6-like plane.

@PointlessWhyshouldi you should use mass editing. If you are on iOS, you can steal my parts with edited mass and drag.

+2@Notaleopard as long as they abide the rules, it's fine.
@Notaleopard eh? It's a build. Cars are also not aircraft, ships (of which I've made quite a few) aren't aircraft, and they are all "valid" builds.
@jamesPLANESii yeah, I could accept it. Although, a bigger plane would be better.
+1@S4P9 how will you ever get good if you don't practice?
@RamboJutter you're not really good at math, are you? 172x2 is 344 XD
@Stingray interior is not necessary.
@Jacobdaniel if it's a twin seater plane for personal transport but capable of aerobatics, it's good. If it's one of those race planes or a military trainer, it's not.
Thanks for the entry.
@Jacobdaniel read requirements.
@Jacobdaniel I don't know why. It flies for everyone else.
It looks absolutely stunning. Maybe remove the exterior details like paint scheme and ribs of control surfaces for performance test version and keep them for public version. @Kimcotupan15 excellent. Just make sure it follows the requirements.

No problem.
