@marcox43 I plan to make a post about gauges next week. They won't support everything that you listed, but they can do a lot. Also, we plan to add a Label part so you can put custom text wherever.

Unfortunately, I was not able to get the image picker working on older iOS devices or devices running < iOS version 13. If you can update to iOS version 13, then you should have access to the blueprints panel. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • The Lamest Beta Ever 5.3 years ago

@DuckMint @Gestour That's a fair question. If we don't keep Unity up to date our apps start rotting. Platforms start to push new requirements on developers and if we aren't using the latest stuff we run the risk of being forced to update Unity at a non-ideal time. SimplePlanes is becoming increasingly difficult to update on iOS with 5.3.6. Early last year when the iPhone X came out I had to update SP to work with the rounded corners but Unity 5.3.6 didn't have support for that so I ended up spending 10x longer hacking together a solution just to get by. The beginning of an update cycle is the ideal time to upgrade Unity since we will have more time to react to potential issues. I am sorry for the inconvenience for mod developers, but it's the nature of software development. Hopefully, your mods will work fine with Unity 2018.3. What issues are you having with building for Android, @Gestour?

  • SR2 is now on Steam 5.5 years ago

@Chancey21 Naming a company is really hard. When I knew I needed to start a company to keep making games, I had no idea what to name it. For some reason, my mind kept going back to a nickname my brother's friend would call me when I was younger: Jundrew. I changed it up to make it more visually balanced and that's what I went with. I had no idea I would ever bring other people on and the team would grow to this size, so now, unfortunately all my colleagues and I are stuck with the name!

  • wth is wrong with this game?? 6.2 years ago

@DerekSP It's good to get this honest feedback. Thanks for posting.

@SledDriver you've got some great ideas as usual. We don't plan to do a major overhaul on the SimplePlanes designer, but these are great ideas to take into consideration with SR2's designer.

@WNP78 Thanks for being so helpful in the community and for making tools that can help players work around some of our limitations. We're going to take another look at the inertia tensor problem with the next update. It was introduced back when SP was using Unity 4.x, so maybe Unity 5.x will alleviate the need for it. At the very least we will make it easy to disable at the aircraft level.

@JangoTheMango It's not a cash grab. We've spent almost two years now taking everything we've learned and built from SR1 and SP and putting them together into what will be our best game yet.

Really fun bomber. I tried this out in VR and my only feedback is the cockpit is a little too shallow which makes the seat very high. The seat of the chair is about even with my navel. Other than that I like it.

  • SimplePlanes VR - Coming 2021 to Steam and Oculus Quest 2.8 years ago

@Kennneth SPVR should have the same modding support as SP on Steam, but no modding support on Oculus Quest. If we can't make modding support work for whatever reason, you could always just use the original SimplePlanes. When you buy SPVR on Steam it acts like a DLC and will unlock the VR mode in original SimplePlanes as well.

Unfortunately, it is because the website has very limited support for automatically building links with non-English characters. Other players can get to your profile with a direct link like this. We could also change your username to a fully English username if you would prefer. If that's what you want, just tag me in a comment with the username that you want.

  • XML drag update 6.0 years ago

The drag attributes are for the Part tag in the XML. The dragScale let's you multiply the drag the part receives. You can set it to any non-negative number. 0 indicates no drag. 1 is normal drag, 1.5 is 50% more drag, etc.

The calculateDrag attribute can be set to false to exclude a part from the drag calculation altogether. This means that parts that are behind it will receive drag. This is less likely to be used. Typically you'll want to just set dragScale to 0.

The diffuseInertiaTensors attribute is for the Aircraft tag. We diffuse inertia tensors across the aircraft to improve stability/reduce wobbliness, but this can come at the cost of realism in some cases. The default settings is true.

  • About SpVR 2.7 years ago

@jamesPLANESii I would recommend the Oculus Quest 2. It's $299 and you can plug it into your computer with a USB-C cable and play VR games from your PC. It also supports Oculus Air Link so you can wirelessly stream games from your PC and of course it supports standalone Quest games when you don't have access to your PC. Another nice thing about it is that it uses inside-out tracking, so you don't need to plug in external sensors and place them around your room.
