Anyways about face reveals, to be perfectly honest facial recognition is a possibility, if your information is out there and can be linked to a face (driver's license, unrelated social media, etc) you could get doxxed and someone could find your location. Of course this could happen at some point in your life anyway, most people have Instagram, Facebook, or Snapchat and this could just as easily happen on those platforms, but here if you can avoid linking your identity with this site it's probably best. If you want to do it that's obviously up to you, but there is the question of what could happen to you. Do you have enemies? Do people care? Could someone steal your identity? Hurt you? Insult you? You'll probably be fine, but there are 5 billion people that use the internet and any one of them could be someone with very, very bad intentions.
27 hours is wild, I mean don't get me wrong it looks amazing but for a sub-300 part build the time spent is crazy
although if you mean you finished 27 hours after you started this is actually quite impressive.
@StockPlanesRemastered yeah it doesn't surprise me that the meta vr support is finnicky, in theory sounds great but certain aspects of vr tech can be crap for no reason sometimes
Reminds me of when I ran Rec Room off of an iPod. Not an iPod touch, like a 16 gigabyte thingy meant for playing music. It actually worked pretty well. Rec Room was an odd choice though, I'll admit.
ok fun fact, even though those ids are only 6 bytes, the server hosting never actually takes down planes after they have been deleted from the website. That means that with a little technical skill and an aircraft ID you can recover deleted aircraft. So if you have all those IDs archived that could actually be really, really useful.
@skelyButActuallyCJ getting better, didn't realize it was tiktok though lol
I still wouldn't call that viral, I'd probably call that like a million ish views but that's still rather impressive, get enough followers and you can monetize
@rimiha to be honest I haven't turned my PC on in about a week, I'll try and get to it but I do have stuff going on irl so I don't know when I'll get to it. If you have a windows computer that's 5 years old or less you can probably run the correct Unity version yourself, and mess with it, I know waiting for other people to help with projects sucks sometimes. If you don't hear back from me for a week or so feel free to remind me, I'll do my best.
@StockPlanesRemastered I think this one is just saying not to make them for the sole purpose of upvoting your own stuff. Lots of people have em and the mods don't seem to be taking them down. That said it does appear to be against the TOS.
@rimiha I'll try and access the islands, I know the meshes are in the mod tools but I'm not sure if there's texture. I'll do my best and see what I can come up with. I do know how to grab the depthmap and there's actually a google drive link to the wright island one, so here's the link to that while I try to get those screenshots. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NJLSKYuSfY9hZa9bLnYtyzuqBQgeirgl/view?usp=share_link
z axis would be useful for some applications, if you could get a depthmap of the different islands you could pretty easily translate that into coordinates on the z level. I think Unity might be the place to get screenshots of the map, although finding a way to set the view distance very high then set the FOV to be pretty narrow might work.
If you need someone to mess around in Unity I would for sure be willing to try, but my skills are very limited and it might work better to get something to hand draw everything to scale with the depthmap image or something like that.
Just set a gun's velocity and firerate very high and edit the color, then set the damage pretty low. bit glitchy but not too hard to pull off and it really feels like a laser.
@MSLITecnik ok so switch SP to windowed mode then open up On-Screen Keyboard. It should have a home key so you can rebind what opens Reshade. I googled a picture of your keyboard and it looks like no, you aren't going crazy, there is indeed no home key on that laptop.
any iphone will let you do it, I'm sure there are plenty of androids out there as well but I'm only familiar with iPhones
According to some random samsung help forum I found, this is the only app that actually supports accessing app data, not sure if it works anymore but it's worth trying that rather than spending hundreds on a new phone. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lonelycatgames.Xplore
it's a shame, lots of people who like Android say it's more open, but these days that's getting harder to believe
@StockPlanesRemastered yeah this plane doesn't fly all that well or have an interior which by modern standards makes it extremely mediocre, but then you realize that this was made without a lot of the features we use this day. What an absolutely legendary player, shame he deleted his account.
@AeroSultan There's a lot of misinformation out there about mod compatibility on Android. Some maps technically still work, but it's not officially supported and the creators have to use outdated mod tools. Mod support with scripts relies on Mono, a scripting backend for Unity, but that backend is only 32-bit. Google won't let you use 32-bit features, so Jundroo removed official mod support. That means this particular mod would be incompatible no matter how hard its creator tried. Additionally this game is like ten years old and is no longer being updated, so they probably aren't going to be implementing the brand new 64-bit version of mono into their 2-year old unity build since that's probably going to cause a crazy amount of bugs. Mod support on iOS has never been a thing due to terms of service, some games like Minecraft have specialized ways of doing it but in SP you're basically adding a whole new chunk of stuff straight into the game itself rather than loading external resource packs.
all of this is just objective facts, other than the thing about them not adding mod support (which is highly informed speculation that is all but proven to be true) so please don't try and argue with me
(im a sensitive boi)
@Dissent3R 2 reasons I doubt it will get taken down:
1: you could already steal builds, since the game had to be running an aircraft file anyway it was somewhere on your computer anyway and there was probably some way you could access it anyway.
2. The multiplayer mod is an unofficial addition to the game and they don't actually moderate it or anything.
3. plus there are ways to steal unlisteds anyway, the site doesn't verify accessing links anyway so it's very much possible to access people's unlisteds without them knowing.
Best way is to make the whole aircraft then start slicing and painting fuselage parts to make the transitions smooth. You can do it as you go I suppose but it's going to be like a jigsaw puzzle.
@YarisSedan ok I'll be totally honest, I've tried so many things, python scripts, messing around with the site backend, and I haven't been able to find it. If you could somehow find a link, like maybe if you have the "hottest" page on the day you posted it or something in the wayback machine and get the link that way I could get the aircraft for you, but I have been unsuccessful trying to reverse engineer my way into finding your plane.
again, try wayback machine, if you really want this look through all the captures of the site you can find around may/june 2021 and your first plane might be there somewhere. If you can get me that link I can get your plane no problem, but as of right now I have had zero luck through that method or other methods.
@F16xl hehehehe 😈
@blt i'd delete that comment, very easily googleable to figure out where you live
@F16xl oh wait, actually watched the video, just assumed it was a rickroll lol
wasn't expecting a real face reveal, also the ending was wild
(i feel like i am corroborating a crime)

+2@F16xl nice try
never click a link like that lol, almost always a rick roll
@blt I feel ya, that low detail 4Runner I made took like maybe 5-6 hours of my time
+127 hours is wild, I mean don't get me wrong it looks amazing but for a sub-300 part build the time spent is crazy

@StockPlanesRemastered word on the street is that steam version supports mods and if your PC isn't a toaster bigger builds
+1@AndrewsGarsion correct, the Steam version only works on computers with Windows installed
Reminds me of when I ran Rec Room off of an iPod. Not an iPod touch, like a 16 gigabyte thingy meant for playing music. It actually worked pretty well. Rec Room was an odd choice though, I'll admit.

+2opera gx is flaming garbage, chrome is fast but kinda sucks, Edge is fine, I guess

+1seriously though the game looks cool, just not worth the 20 bucks to me personally
big boom dadadadadadada
viral? nah. especially by YT shorts standards. Still cool though.
nic3
aw man
@Rob119WithA105mmHowitzer I don't think it's enforced, MrSilverWolf has one evidently. https://www.simpleplanes.com/u/MrSilverWolf2

I'll talk to someone about your okthxbye permit. It should have arrived by now.

+2yay free superiority complex!
+2@YarisSedan I could maybe do a few, but I'm very hesitant since it requires a lot of network traffic and I'd feel bad about it
+1Already a unique concept, but the execution is amazing. That auto-camera...
+2chef's kiss.
now that right there is clean
+1Mod, you should make a mod.
they're fine with swearing for the most part, but the n word is a racial slur that no one should really be saying, on or off this website.
+5@MSLITecnik latest one should work fine, I will point out that this guide was written a year ago so there might be some small inconsistencies.
this in multiplayer would be amazing
+1everybody gangsta till they get molten candle wax on their hand (it hurts like fire)

boom get upvoted
