Introduction

This is the first aircraft in the Air Combat Evo Series.

Air Combat Evo is a project I’ve been developing for the past two years. It’s a collection of SimplePlanes aircraft designed with a consistent standard of quality, featuring calibrated performance, cohesive handling and visual style.

I’ve been working on this Su-27 on and off since I first started playing the game in 2022, and now feels like the right time to finally release it.

Features

  • Realistic post-stall maneuver (PSM) capability, enabled by an intentionally unstable aerodynamic design - this aircraft is completely unflyable without Funky Trees code.
  • 1:1 scale with realistic flight performance.
  • Detailed VR cockpit featuring a custom HUD and user-friendly instruments.
  • Accurate landing gear animations.
  • Optimized for AI dogfights.
  • G limiter, AOA limiter and auto trim.
  • Mobile-friendly design with only 389 parts!

Instructions

AG1 Canopy
AG2 Airbrake
AG3 Drogue Parachute
AG4 Lights
AG5 N/A
AG6 Differential Thrust Mode
AG7 Jettison Weapons
AG8 Direct Control Swith (for PSM / Combra maneuver)

VTOL Flaps

  • Afterburners will be activated when the throttle is above 95%.
  • The plane will become unstable when you deactivate AG8. Re-activate it if you lost control.
  • The gun can be reloaded by pressing the Fire Weapons button while flying below 250 mph (400 kph) and under 1,000 ft (300 m) altitude.

@PlainDude11 this is also the best SU 27 flanker on this website in my opinion, love pulling, craziest stunts. In this thing you made a good one.

this thing is crazy. my older brother (Simpleplanes veteran and DCS player) absolutely adores your plane. he prefers WW2 prop planes, but he said you were cooking with this one. can't wait for the rest of the ACE series to come out!

@Whills, would you be okay if I studied, and kinda reverse engineered the panels in the cockpit? I'm building a yak-130 and I want to give it a more detailed cockpit. I love the build btw

@asapSCOTT Hi! That's a great build! Maybe the engines are a bit too close to each other, in comparison with real life F-18s?

Hey mate, I noticed your super Hornet. It looks crazy good! Would you be able to check out my f variant super hornet to see what you think? It’s still a WIP and the flight model is completely wrong, but just want some advice from a pro. Cheers

@TheCommentaryGuy The wing is made of two flat cylinders, I put them close to each other with a small angle to create the curve. I fine-tuned the cutting points to make it look seamless from the top, but from the bottom view, there is a seam. Since we mostly look from the top, I think it's acceptable to leave a seam on the bottom side. As for F-22 and 35, the exterior and cockpit are generally finished, but I am still working on flight controls, as well as small details here and there.
