I’m still not a really good builder, and I don’t really know how to improve.
What do I need to do to improve my builds, and get more people to download them, without self promotion?

Give details on projects you make, basically be creative. Just don't be a controversy king and don't start fights like what the pickle said.
@Dissent3R typical xep
@LM0418 don't bother because the game is shit, or something along those lines
Start messing around with fuselages and use subassemblies. Experiment with them like a crazy madman. Download other people's craft and dissect them to see wtf is up with them fuselages.
MAPA's AI craft tutorial is how I started doing more decent aircraft early on, i think. The Gigachad Tutorial Plane has taught me how to build sexier wings. and so much more.
You can learn so much by dissecting other people's stuff, it's insane.
I won't guarantee that the link in my bio will increase points but, I will say that it's free and a good option if you want to take good screenshots and don't have a PC.
:)
Beg shamelessly 👍
@Dissent3R what did he say?
@XPEH3HAETKAK bro why are you acting like this?
Custom thumbnails help
Honestly the only truly universal advice is to just practice; you'll get better over time, however long it takes.
In terms of attracting people, having enticing thumbnails helps. Take in-flight screenshots, make 'em look pretty using a photoshop utility (Pixlr is my personal go-to), and if you use PC, ReShade is a worthwhile tool.
Edit: 32 also makes some good points
