McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II [V3]

19.1k CheeseTruffles  4.2 years ago

GET A SPECIAL EDITION HERE
VERSION THREE (and hopefully final version) of my McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II, with many improvements from VERSION TWO.
HERE is a low part count (777) version of VERSION TWO for lower-end PC players.
HERE is an ultra-low part count (495) version of VERSION TWO for mobile players.
Click HERE for an RP video :).
Thanks for 3k downloads!

Aircraft includes all custom control surfaces, a relatively detailed fully functioning cockpit + augmented camera, working afterburner with realistic VFX, and many other features I spent way too much time on.

Changes from previous version:
- Loads more decals and details
- Added idle engine sound effects
- Added additional engine sound effects
- AG8 Turns on and off electronic gauge functions
- AG8 Turns on and off idle engine
- AG8 turns on and off all engine functions
- Maximum nose gear turning speed lowered from 40 MPH to 30 MPH
- Added a spinning radar to cockpit
- Added Augmented Cockpit Camera to second pilot seat
- Changed TAS Gauge to display 0-1800 MPH as opposed to 0-900 MPH
- Added colours to the Attitude Indicator
- Added gun trigger to yoke
- Fixed pedals (Previously weren't moving)
- Landing Gear can no longer be retracted while on the ground
- Landing Lights will follow the position of the gear
- Increased size of missiles
- Decreased canopy operation speed
- Replaced bombs with external fuel tanks
- More realistic fuselage intakes
- More realistic decorative internal engine
- Changed aileron actions
- Decreased rudder effectiveness
- Decreased flap effectiveness
- Added acceleration simulator to Augmented Cockpit Camera
- Added lights to gun-sight
- AIM-7s changed to AIM-9s for historical accuracy

The Augmented Cockpit-Camera will Pitch, Roll, Yaw and move back and forth with accordance to the aircraft, to simulate pilot inertia. The gun-sight will adjust accordingly to stay straight, though will only go as far as the gun-sight allows, and will not fully track the camera. The effect is relative to the speed of the aircraft, going faster will increase the effect.

To activate afterburners, set throttle to 100% and activate AG1. Afterburners will only engage in this state.

The custom engine nozzles will contract while increasing power, but fully open for afterburners. (It's really cool :D)

Nose wheel steering is only available when gear is in the down position and travelling less than 30 mph

Wings and cockpit canopies will automatically move into flight position when travelling above 30 mph, if they were raised previously.

Gear is locked in the down position when on the ground

For maximum flap effectiveness at high speed, do not extend more than 50% out. Only use 100% for landing. In addition, if you set VTOL up, the flaps will push the plane downward, though the visual flaps and flap indicators in the cockpit will not show this.

Please note the aircraft yaws right slightly whilst on the runway, easily correctable by tapping Q.

Controls:
[AG-1: Afterburner]
[AG-2: Lights]
[AG-3: Release External Fuel Pods]
[AG-4: Cockpit Canopy]
[AG-5: Fold Wingtips]
[AG-6: Tail hook]
[AG-7: Chute]
[AG-8: Master Switch]
[VTOL (Down): Flaps]
[Trim: Trim]
[Camera-1: Augmented Cockpit]
[Camera-2: Navigator Cockpit]

HERE is a full list of all Funky Trees used, if you're interested.

Someone said the navy f-4s has interior guns, but the original navy f-4s did actually use gun pods

If you delete the main cockpits every detail and only left the stick, pedals and the sight,it accualy downs the part count to 1200

Hey everyone, as pointed out by Diloph, you do not have to upvote this one since it is basically a reupload.

  • Profile image

Yeah that is true :/ good thing is next time I make something I already know all the issues and addons generated from my previous 2 phantoms so I don’t have to do 3 versions @Diloph

I love this F-4 but making more than one F-4 is not very good, it makes you look like a begger for upvotes, because its more planes that was, really just the same plane but everyone just upvotes them again and again, not a smart idea in my eyes but you do whatever
