Honestly, you're not the only one. For me, when it comes to building the cockpit, building progress slows to a snails pace. To make a realistic one, it's so much work and effort that goes into minimal reward. I mean, giving your plane a cockpit almost doubles its upvote score and makes users more excited for your future builds, but it quadruples the work, and making a cockpit is really janky and isn't supported very well. And making a cockpit means you need to make all the other systems more functional in your plane like making a better engine etc. Also we don't have enough customisability with the gauges, for example the arcs for the ASIs aren't adjustable (grinds my gears AF 😬) and all the gauges are from the same era and there's no realistic and normal looking artificial horizon. Also engines are basic asf and don't have basic things like mixture, realistic prop aerofoils, or temperatures so you have to improvise them yourself. Not yo mention propellers weigh like 700 KG and take a billion years to reach maximum RPM.
.
Gee. Sounds like I should be learning how to use plane maker in X Plane. XD
Look at real planes and try to replicate things that are on them, and work out why things are the way they are on real planes and how they function. Also think about how your planes are built under the surface and what materials would be used and the structural strength of areas etc, and where things like vents need to be
@Sparky6004 @Kangy I'd be very surprised if I permanently leave, don't worry. Anyway, I kinda wanna finish my C-46 and AN-2 too. I dunno if I'll have time or the inspiration though.
I usually have 2 or 3 projects at a time. Usually a replica plane, a fictional plane, and a super detailed car project. I usually build the fictional planes when I'm burnt out, build the car when I'm into mechanics and minor details and not so much planes, and build the replica plane when I'm full of inspiration. And I usually have a long break inbetween. Like for the past, I haven't been playing playing SimplePlanes at all and have played other games.
Okay I just disabled all of my mods, and yeah the lag spikes are still happening.
Some planes where I get them, this is a moderately low part count build where I get them, ignore the fact that it's 2x scale and there's a picture of Andrew in the back, they seem to have no effect on the lag spikes since it was doing them before I did that stuff. And my Kitfox is probably my worst build for the lag spikes.
@TDCraft @MAHADI Thanks!
+2@Kthepersonorguy @AlmostADev yay!
+2Waking up in the morning be like: @SyntheticL
+2@MrShenanigansSP The performance cost of this individual part is 60
+2Rip real time reflections turned off
+2Because it's annoying and spammy if you most more
+2@TheGliderGuy The map is this one. Thanks for liking it!
+2@AVFLYER Yup! Hoping to release a low part one sometime next week :)
+2Oop, was this meant to be public?
+2@MrSilverWolf That's kinda the story with the whole map lol
+2What makes this one any different from all the others?

No paneling
+2There's a place near where I live called Naenae. Every time I go past it I think of this song lol
+2Not too bad for a first plane!
+2This is seriously cool, and would make a great vehicle for VR with some additions!

+2Noting that a steam powered regualr plane is vertually impossible, I'd say basically no chance

+2@rexzion dis aint clickbait though lol
+2jk yes
+2no
+2god damn, everyone has already said the good responses!
+2g r a b i t
+2Wait hold on. This that a tailrotor in a Gazelle? 😟
+2@Kangy I made it :)
+2@InternationalAircraftCompany Aww you ruined the fun! Now chinese people can't find this and understand the meme. What a fun sucker :(
+2You might wanna join some of these
+2@Bellcat Ahh lol. Well, at least they're making some people laugh. :D
+2Where?
+2Gee I never realised how rough this was. You could have at least worked on the headlights and the bottom of the door now there's fuselage cutting :(
+2By that it means all the planes on the site are free to download.
+2Maek rounds move then 💯
+2Wow. Not being able to run SP is ultimate potato level bad PC

Don't worry about it
+2These new tyres are awesome
+2SP or SR2 lol
+2@Viper_Z3R0 Hold up how would zoom work in VR
+2Still, nice car!
+2Stobbeh bow

@PhilipTarpley Oh actually, that's a good point. I think I heard something about the MP mod causing lag spikes. I'll have to test when I get home
+2Totally agree
+2Little suggestion, if you made the tyre a little bigger or the rim smaller for the "rugged" wheel type, it could make it much more versitile.
+2But... you didn't even build this...
+2@MrShenanigansSP Sure lmao
+2BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
+2Wait but mods just moderate the site
+2Dang, who knew Piper Cubs could fly!
