    @MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 Probably because it hasn't been used in any of our recent wars (except S-War I believe)
    The Skywolf is good, but only issue is that it's too good. Unlike the A-40D which has such a vast variety of weapons that it can limit itself to pass off as normal (as it is for M-War II), the Skywolf is committed: it only has a few weapons, and they're all supercharged. So the Skywolf is more of a true superweapon, while the A-40D sacrifices some strength in comparison to the Skywolf in favor of superior versatility, which allowed it to survive the AOPM-Treaty by using only certain weapons.

    Also fun fact: The Skywolf is, at least regularly, immune to crashes, although it can be destroyed sometimes thanks to the internal missiles exploding since they couldn't be invincible and usable at the same time. The A-40D was not gifted with this power, although the A-52A was.

    TL;DR

    Skywolf's a great plane, it only has missiles and lasers to my knowledge, but weapons in question are strong and dedicated to the superplane role. But the Anti-OP/Meme Treaty is, ironically, overpowered, or at least stronger than the Skywolf. The A-40D survived though solely thanks to having such a ridiculous weapon quantity that it only needs to use a few to remain viable whilst still abiding to the treaty.

    It's beautiful :D
    Probably one of my favorite early fighters, I see them flying on FlightRadar24 sometimes.

    *For anyone curious about the Hunters, there's something at Point Mugu called "ATAC," Airborne Tactical Advantage Command, who operates a few old fighters, namely the Hunter, Kfir, Skyhawk, and Mirage.

    @MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 @CrestelAeronautics
    I'm biased but me
    Naturally we want to credit this to the A-40 series, but personally I think the TFA-1 Monsoon is a better example of this. A literal plane from the 30s that's still in active and effective service today.
    @TheMouse might be equal to or above me, I'd dare say above simply because he mentored me (Monarchii did too but he doesn't make superplanes as much, as opposed to Mouse who has the Skywolf series behind his name).
    You and MiG are definitely are next in line after me though, probably tieing for second (or third provided that we put Mouse in first, but for now at least I'll have Mouse and I tie for first, and you guys tie for second)

    @LunarEclipseSP Takusha is still a lovely flying tank
    Right now she is resting, but she may return with the new M-War II...
    Next week that is. I'm gon' be busy this weekend, but next weekend I should be free to finally make the article :D

    I also just realized that we have the Yamato/Musashi AEGIS, A-40D, and Flying T-34 all on the same side. We're gonna need @SILVERPANZER to bring back the TNP (or something stronger since TNP is still in a cage at the NMR base) somehow because right now the Reformists look pretty cooked and of the four only Yamato has shown their fury lol

    @JSTQ In (barely) less vague terms, a tank designed for modern warfare won't be killed by modern weapons, but anyone wise enough to think ahead will be resistant to futuristic weapons too. Your opponent's blindside is the past: ancient tactics prevail.

    Also, the tanks do have tradeoffs:
    -Shock is very fast and a hard hitter, but he has little armor for a tank. They can be destroyed about as easily as regular tank if not easier, their strength is in numbers, not durability.
    -The E.VII is heavily armored, and its weapon variety is quite ample, but it's slow and struggles on large off-road terrain like mountains, whereas the Shrike and Shock can go up no problem. It's also a big target, so in short: Yes it can take more hits, but it's also probably going to get hit more in the first place.
    -Shrike is truly an all-around tank when it comes to physical combat, it doesn't hit as hard, but it has superior weapon variety, and it's not as fast as Shock while still outspeeding the E.VII. Yes, its armor is quite good, but that's mostly thanks to appropriate angling; a good hit at a 0-5-degree angle would at least be enough to leave a mark depending on caliber. Drones, mines, and handheld missiles however, are where the Shrike will seem overpowered. It has radio interference to disrupt if not disable nearby drones, mine-detecting radar similar to the later variants of the Shock, and its radars should be able to detect foot soldiers or small vehicles, but if it doesn't, it can take a hit or two from a "small" missile before there's need for concern. But in tank-to-tank combat, though the Shrike is formidable opponent, it's still not quite invincible. I should also note it doesn't have the lethal cannons of the Shock or Enargite, whom have 350mm and 200mm respectively as opposed to the Shrike's 150mm. Still big, but not as devastating.

    The Shock has ridiculous high speeds between 200 to 300 MPH, to the point where some Shock drivers use its speed to literally take flight mid-combat, since it will just fly off any ramp or hill in its path.
    Due to this, in July 2024, the Shock was officially nominated as the Strike Aircraft of the month.

    @JSTQ Actually, one of the planes you sold to the Reformists should've appeared in my Weekly Article, unless there was some sort of glitch that erased the image from existence.

  • [M-War II] Week 1-2-ish: What else but WAR 7 months ago

    @LunarEclipseSP Nope, Operation Going Eleven absolutely happened during M-War I, in fact the Yamato was the only ship (involved in the battle) that I managed to fully recover, or more accurately the only recovered one that I rebuilt. I recovered a little over a dozen, but many were either "neglected" or actively salvaged from in order to support the reconstruction of the Yamato AEGIS. I figured gunships would have some kind of extra advantage because they can bypass Snowstone's rough terrain via manual aim, as opposed to missiles which often struggle with low-altitude targets.

    @JSTQ A few ways:
    -Thick armor (take for example the E.VII which literally has three different layers of inch-thick composite armor)
    -ADDs: Advanced Detection Devices (you could launch it, the question is could you launch it without being noticed and attacked back? Same applies to mines, the M49A3-C has an oversized metal detector on it, so mines will rarely if ever take it out.)
    -Angling: I never forget to angle
    -Environment: The area we're fighting in doesn't really have a lot of trees and whatnot to hide in, just snow over snow. Landmines won't care about this at all, but infantry-based anti-tank weapons will suffer if their wielders have little to nowhere to hide.
    -Numbers: It is a rule of mine that no vehicle- at least on ground or sea- will ever travel alone. If you take out one, the rest of the squad will just fire back.
    -Game Resources: I know some people have made FPS models and whatnot but to my knowledge there's not any active/usable infantrymen-with-anti-tank-missile models out there. I can't exactly destroy stuff with things that don't exist ingame, otherwise I would've just used the A-40D to delete everything we faced after M-War I (A-40D does exist, but it didn't during most of the conflicts prior to S-War).
    -Vehicle: This is Combined SimpleVerse where we try to avoid having infantrymen fight directly lol
    So this technically means you could make a small car that carries an ATGM like an infantryperson, but as long as it doesn't look like one, it'll be good 👍

    @JSTQ Actually the tankvasion was kinda just a plan I formulated, but whether I do it or not is tough call, because I only have 48 hours but I'm already working on something else :v
    Plus whenever I finish my current project, I have to make a PEA/PEV M49A3 so there can be several in one place at the same time, so that invasion probably won't play out

    Naval forces, however, are very much happening.
