The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling , have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering(in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries.
The industrial-technological system may survive or it may break down. If it survives, it MAY eventually achieve a low level of physical and psychological suffering, but only after passing through a long and very painful period of adjustment and only at the cost of permanently reducing human beings and many other living organisms to engineered products and mere cogs in the social machine. Furthermore, if the system survives, the consequences will be inevitable: There is no way of reforming or modifying the system so as to prevent it from depriving people of dignity and autonomy.
If the system breaks down the consequences will still be very painful. But the bigger the system grows the more disastrous the results of its breakdown will be, so if it is to break down it had best break down sooner rather than later .
We therefore advocate a revolution against the industrial system . This revolution may or may not make use of violence; it may be sudden or it may be a relatively gradual process spanning a few decades. We can’t predict any of that. But we do outline in a very general way the measures that those who hate the industrial system should take in order to prepare the way for a revolution against that form of society. This is not to be a POLITICAL revolution. Its object will be to overthrow not governments but the ecoqnomic and technological basis of the present society.
In this article we give attention to only some of the negative developments that have grown out of the industrial-technological system. Other such developments we mention only briefly or ignore altogether. This does not mean that we regard these other developments as uni
@GuyFolk Dude it has 2D not 1D vectoring
Actually it does. The F-22 has thrust vectoring for roll and pitch maneuvers.
It doesn’t have thrust vectoring for yaw maneuvers.
Reason is because the F-22 is built with stealth being very much in mind. The shape of it’s thrust vectoring nozzles grants it some radar stealth from the rear ( it’s actually not completely stealthy from the rear, though it retains a quite low RCS).
The F-22 was designed to be excellent at BVR combat with it’s stealth and large payload of internal radar guided missiles. It is also meant to be able to engage Russian jets on a near level playing field at WVR combat ( something russian jets have historically been built to be good at), thus the thrust vectoring.
However, the design was always one of stealth and BVR first, WVR a distant second, and everything else well after that.)
"it was designed to give carrier air wings something modern, reliable, and versatile without relying entirely on the more expensive F-35C fleet." the F-15SE promised the same and ended up being more maintenance heavy and more expensive than the F-35 lol. it wouldnt be cheaper than the F-35C if the entire airframe gets redesigned and implements ram. the navy doesnt want more rhinos since it is really really really draggy, thats the whole reason why the FA-XX exist.
@Graingy "Spending hours upon hours upon hours upon hours upon one aircraft sure as shit is. Building simpler craft can be fun, though. Thought I was pretty clear about that."
who says you are limited to building 1 high quality builds? you aren't a true SP player if you don't have folders or builds that are collecting dust because you want to start another project.
@Graingy if you have discord or checked my teaser posts then you would know that I actually make shit. I have a chally 2, Ticonderoga class, f-14, mig-29, f-35c that are all lining up hell my recent build is literally the J-15T.
@Graingy you say boring when building planes when the whole point of the game is to BUILD PLANES. you also said that games are also suppose to be fun and enjoyable, YET YOU DONT EVEN PLAY THE GAME ITSELF.
@Graingy "I have better things to do with my time than slaving away for endless hours on a single craft. That is BORING. Opposite of what a game should be."
so you say that games are suppose to be fun, but you don't even play the game and you think the gameplay is boring?
@Graingy sure you dont bully people in there but you use the forum for not as its intended, you dont listen to people criticizing you and the rules itself?

+2INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY AND ITS FUTURE
Introduction
The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling , have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering(in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation.
