It's relatively easy, get the red line to be slightly in front of the blue line. Keep control surfaces as small as practical, put wheels where they are on real planes and not stupidly far back, keep wings an tail plane sizes proportional. If you want build something and tag me and I'll show you where you are going wrong
@AdlerSteiner so im thinking about entering the challenge (well ive actually built my entry) but was wondering if you could have a look to make sure it was valid first before i perfect it pic here
@BoeyingOfficial I didn't say to change the black background, to be fair the stock background is miles better than some of the custom ones, the starry one hurts my head.
@Mustang51 thanks :) it's funny that it's this one that's highest on my votes, I built it ages ago so I know I could do better now but people really seemed to like it.
@Mustang51 yeah it's handy, if you put a lot of effort into something why not reuse It, I usually end up adding and changing bits anyway. Look at that last rocket fighter I did, the entire nose was from my tornado 2, the launcher was from a previous build but I altered it all to suit the new build. They are just an extension of the base building blocks :) now if only I could find a way to get 10 more votes on my canberra it will be my first 100upvote build....
@Mustang51 not being at work at present, helps the designing, plus i had a load of bits stored ready to add. Dont look too closely but the top deck came from the egg ship as did the main guns ;)
@flyingsteve88 ah, Yeah, the roundels are a pain, i made this one for something else but it fit this, hence it's actually dated (stopped using that roundels in 1939ish)
Ee lightning, designed for a purpose, built with just the bare essentials (fuel, who needs it) and at a time of massive uncertainty in the UK aircraft industry because of soon plonker and his visions of the future (Which still havn't come to pass). Intercepted u2 (Which as you probably know well wasn't an easy thing to do). It didn't have any confirmed kills but a qra was scrambled not long before that engineer fella in the nicked c130 was lost (conjecture may not be true but it wouldn't have taken much for the lightning to have 1 American c130 on its hit list).
Oh and in tag Germany they beat the f15 in climb competitions :)
@Type2volkswagen yeah same. Weird. I had problems for a while with the front counterweight causing it to blow up on release but the booster behaved itself from the start. The booster chute pulls it down away from the plane as well because of the booster angle. Glad you fixed it though, things like that annoy me (especially when they occur after posting and not during testing)
@Type2volkswagen weird, I tested it for ages and never had the problem, I must have done nearly 50 flights as I was messing about with balance and the like, sorry. The entire launch rail was on true for disable collisions so the booster shouldn't have mattered, where you pressing 1 first to angle the launch?
@Type2volkswagen oh that's a new one, I usually eject it closer to 60degrees but it shouldn't blow up, try deleting the chute on the front ballast guide (sometime the chute drags it upwards)
@Tully2001 could have tied in the marketing and release with firework though :) just imagine a video of London's firework display all just to celebrate the release of the game lol
@EternalDarkness thanks :) the trim was a pain, the weights vary so much with the jettison of the rockets speed and altitude, hence trim tab (it does have a moving ballast weight for when main engines are jettisoned and counter weight jettisons with the booster, but yeah trim tab needed.
Use the mod to nudge all the detachers over, remove bombs, add torps to bottom of detachers, nudge back in, nudge front walls detachers and torps forward
Not to mention the game wouldn't work, the servers would be ran by ea and be down all the time, the game would evolve to imitate it's competitor and satisfy kids that are too young to meet the age restrictions... etc

+1The builds nice but that background hurts my head...
What have you changed from the other fellas build?
+1@AdlerSteiner so im thinking about entering the challenge (well ive actually built my entry) but was wondering if you could have a look to make sure it was valid first before i perfect it pic here
@MAHADI nah an yamato is based on the Japanese ww2 battleship of the same name, I based mine very loosely on hms hood
+1@BlackhattAircraft thanks, the question was ambiguous though so I assumed an sp build would count :)
@Tang0five And thats just with a canopy, imagine the high jinks when attached to a plane =)
@Spacedoge12345plane who cares? It's my favourite build.
+1@Mustang51 well 13 votes kinda says space battleships ain't a popular topic... you want a sneàk peak at my next plane?
@BoeyingOfficial I didn't say to change the black background, to be fair the stock background is miles better than some of the custom ones, the starry one hurts my head.
@Mustang51 yeah I thought about that, but the angled fus is a pain hence why I havnt touched an f35 or f22
@Mustang51 lol this one was all new due to the sheer size (if I remember correctly)
@Mustang51 yep. I remember seeing the vid of the tsr2 taking off and out accelerating the lightning, oh what if...
@Mustang51 I borrowed a book from my dad which was about German secret bomber prijects here, the series is well worth collecting.
@Mustang51 lol I'm third and fourth on cold war Now, you can keep first.
@Mustang51 help yourself, this wasn't fictional just never got past the final design stage due to the war progressing badly for the third Reich
@Mustang51 yeah I've seen it at Cosford and duxford, bigger than you think isn't it?
@Mustang51 yeah I like it too, I've seen ramex delta flying them a few times and was always impressed by the powrr
+1@Mustang51 cold war tag... hmm should I change the canberra into that tag?? :p
@spefyjerbf @ACEPILOT109 if I'd done it on the pc I would have, on my phone I didn't, if they get upset I'll crop them on the pc.
+1@Mustang51 yeah I agree, the website hasn't helped, and the higher you get the less spotlights you get as well.
My upvote is halfway down the list ;)
@Mustang51 thanks :) it's funny that it's this one that's highest on my votes, I built it ages ago so I know I could do better now but people really seemed to like it.

+1@CRJ900Pilot thanks, once again you got in before i could add tags or screenshots =)
@flyingsteve88 ah, Yeah, the roundels are a pain, i made this one for something else but it fit this, hence it's actually dated (stopped using that roundels in 1939ish)
@flyingsteve88 which circle in particular?
@ThePrototype yeah it also has some tornado in there (nose) and F-5 for wing / tail layout, a proper mismash =)
@Mostly aw i already put loads on, i might make a mk2 with some more so it goes faster trhough.

+2@Type2volkswagen yeah same. Weird. I had problems for a while with the front counterweight causing it to blow up on release but the booster behaved itself from the start. Riat is good
+1@Type2volkswagen oh that's a new one, I usually eject it closer to 60degrees but it shouldn't blow up, try deleting the chute on the front ballast guide (sometime the chute drags it upwards)
+1@ThomasRoderick exactly
@Tully2001 I wondered who the did new year fire works for
+1@Tully2001 could have tied in the marketing and release with firework though :) just imagine a video of London's firework display all just to celebrate the release of the game lol
+1@Tang0five try ek-dee-zee-ast mby? :) I googled odd engl8sh words so sorry.
+1@EternalDarkness thanks :) the trim was a pain, the weights vary so much with the jettison of the rockets speed and altitude, hence trim tab (it does have a moving ballast weight for when main engines are jettisoned and counter weight jettisons with the booster, but yeah trim tab needed.
@BaconRoll lol, i thought it was appropriate since it sheds so many bits =)
Use the mod to nudge all the detachers over, remove bombs, add torps to bottom of detachers, nudge back in, nudge front walls detachers and torps forward
@Mustang51 I've already made this and this that kinda do what you suggested. This one's going to be stationary to keep part count down
Which bit? The nasa f5 looks interesting
+2@jamesPLANESii poor jammyplany2
+2@Mustang51 well I was reminded of this so my next build is along those lines bit with another rocket interceptor ;)
+1@RAF1 well it would get rather hot!
Not to mention the game wouldn't work, the servers would be ran by ea and be down all the time, the game would evolve to imitate it's competitor and satisfy kids that are too young to meet the age restrictions... etc
+4@horatio good, you could always upvote it though ;)
@Mustang51 yeah I was contemplating making a really small rocket powered interceptor launched from my truck. Mby a bit mad max type.
