I don't think it's possible to do that in this type of format. I'd recommend putting the label on a piston set to Activate1 and have the text just have the code you want to display. So put the label on a piston set to Activate1 and have this code in the label: STATS<br>Speed: {IAS}<br>Altitude: {Altitude}
Hi,
This is another amazing mod which has become slightly outdated. The sound is excellent, and I have used these on my SWL-120, but the fuel dial is broken (100% or 0%), and the paint is also slightly broken. I'd also love for these to output to variables, similar to the in game engines. It's just that nothing in game matches the engine sound in these, and they are slightly becoming out-of-date.
Appreciate anything you can do.
@Formula350 That's a long comment.
.
I actually don't own SP on Android, and I recently copied all my stuff off my iPad (which is a piece of garbage), but I'm sure other players might use this info.
Good plane, and I have some positive and constructive feedback.
.
Pros
.
Pretty detailed, I like how you put a semi-realistic checklist in the craft instructions. I checklist and instructions is key for someone who has never flown this plane before. Overall build quality is medium (high is like having 5000 parts for stuff like rivets, every single function of the real thing included), and looks nice.
.
Recommendations
.
I would recommend moving the checklist to a physical one, so as not to clog up the craft instructions. So have craft instructions list the action controls, and then have what to do with those controls be in a physical checklist.
.
Another thing I noticed is the prop blades. I did my preflight, lined up, flaps were down, and I went to take off... except I went backwards. VTOL controls flaps and prop pitch with no activation groups.
.
I ended up doing a no flaps takeoff, and the flight handling is what one would expect from a plane like this. It rolls a little sensitively, but most planes on SP have this problem.
.
Overall, good job, with a few recommendations.
@SnoWFLakE0s I do think SP needs some way of making 'variable subassemblies'. I am building my new plane, the SWL-120, in different files for reasons (engines, fuselage, nose, cockpit interior, landing gear, etc, and I keep copying variables across using a text editor, which isn't easily available on iOS and Android.
The core of my Radio Selection works similarly to this. I have so many, I edit the variable by having the plane's xml file open in a text editor. Whenever I have a value were I can increase and decrease that value (variable) using buttons, I have a variables list similar to this.
.
TL;DR We developed similar code independently of each other.
Just came back to here to look at something.
.
I too hope SP will someday add a turnable nob. For now, I've used magnets and rotators with buttons to make a similar equivalent.
.
I do have a question - I'm planning on integrating your ILS into the displays in the cockpit of my SWL-120, and I was wondering - how many decimal points does my input system need to be able to be fine-tuned to? Currently it's .5 of a number, but does it need to be any more?
.
Also, is there any way to easily change the glideslope? I really think 5-7 degrees is good for SP, even though 3 is the norm for IRL.
Exception quality for someone of your points. I would recommend turning off the auto centre on the cameras because I couldn't look around in the cockpit (i.e. to click controls). Great use of the craft instructions page, and overall a pretty good plane.
I just tested it at Wright, and it's pretty good! I will say the glideslope is shallow, so I'd recommend changing that to be a bit bigger (5 degrees maybe). I'm not at home right now so I can't fully test it. I would also like to use a slightly modified version of this in my SWL-120.
I just logged on now as well and noticed the tutorial Imgur images have been fixed (they show up now) I really appreciate your efforts to keep a great mod great and keep the tutorial available. This mod has just the right amount of customization for wings. Not too much where I spend 1 hour making 1 part, yet not too little where I can't even change it. While there is a fuselage slicing thing to make wings of a similar shape in vanilla now, I will stick with these wings because my planes are pretty high part count anyway, so most mobile users wouldn't have access anyway.
Nice timelapse! Fuselage slicing is so useful. I made an airliner fuselage with seats in like 14 parts for the fuselage and 5 parts per seat. Still working on being even more efficient.
.
Make sure you turn on fuselage smoothing. It causes no performance impact and makes the fuselage extra smooth.
I just got around to testing it,
.
It's very nice! And one part as well... Very useful for making detailed, low part count cockpits.
.
I found the glideslope code to be bugged, is this still in development?
.
Localizer code looks nice. I really like the inclusion of DME. I am going to do that on mine.
.
On further inspection of the variables, I can see yours is very different to mine. The way I did mine was of course trigonometry, but differently. I don't think I fully explained it in my SP let's plays, but my ILS post should help a bit.
.
I've tagged you on the latest version of the SWL-10 (unlisted, please don't share blablabla) so you can try that out and poke around in the variables. I recommend you explore the variables in a text editor or similar. The checklist on the left side of the captain's seat has all the instructions, I would provide labelled diagrams on the cockpit controls on the final post. Note the APP (Autopilot Approach Mode) isn't working yet, but I'm getting there. Use the button/switch tooltips in combination with the checklist to fly.
@zwen I am interested in a collaboration, just not right now as I'm really busy with school, finishing structural parts of a plane, going on a trip ect. So maybe in a few weeks.
.
That HUD looks amazing! I would like to use it in my SWL-120, which will be similar to the 787.

+1I just put hemispheres as rivet/screw/bolt heads.

+1@IceCraftGaming arghhhh
+1This is the best
+2In terms of detail, this is the best
Is it okay if I use the fan spinner in my SWL-120?
@KingHandspider You were planning on making the same idea?
@Formula350 yup
@MrShenanigans It's not done yet, but I will release a tutorial on it soon.
@jamesPLANESii Wait they are square? So that's why I spend 20 minutes connecting one part to another in my very small overhead panel.

Why did I make this
There is a way to create folders yourself using xml, but the original forum got deleted.

+2I'm in School Year 1 or something idk.
@jamesPLANESii What do you mean?
@jamesPLANESii True
@TheVexedVortex I know, I'm not going to say my age, but I'll say it's older than 13.
@bruhmoment99 Yeahh I'm building a PC with an i9 11900k to run this

Thank you for updating this!
@MOPCKOEDNISHE Thank you so much! Here is one of my projects with this amazing mod.
@MrSilverWolf when builds finished?
Is this the same color bug with the variable wings? I just love Variable Wings and don't want to stop using it.
@MrSilverWolf This, This, This, and This, just to name a few.
What happened to the other 230974230452987540235728203475023 builds you made a teaser of?

@zwen Using the frequency switch is fine. Make sure to credit me.
The RTX 2980 doesn't exist. I guess you mean 2080?

It's 100% the drag. Deactivate all but a few big structural parts.

Is SPVR still taxing on the CPU, or is it also GPU?

@Stickman The 1.12 beta, which is currently available with the lack of a blog post.
+4@BellKitsu You can use it, but please credit me.
I guess this is open source. I'll post some other files from the development stage later.
@vonhubert Ahh, I see now.
.
I would also like to be tagged when you post any planes with the autopilot.
@vonhubert I don't really understand what you mean.
@vonhubert That's okay, just make sure you give credit.
The ILS is just about done, I'm releasing a video on it this Sunday, so stay tuned!
+1@vonhubert Thanks!
+1@BeastHunter Go to SimplePlanes in the steam library, click on properties, and select betas, then select public test.
+1@BeastHunter I just checked the beta, no new parts.
