I found the Grumman F8F carried 400 rounds per gun. So the ability to hold more and to scuttle the pod(s) if needed for weight loss is an awesome concept.
@KangaKangaTheRoo
Well, it's not 466 parts when you separate one and attach it for use. Total is 75. While still a high number. It would be smaller if you remove a few items or maybe I or someone streamline the parts. I wish they would add an alphabet and numbers to one of these updates. Seems simple as can be and barely take any time for them to add it.
Thank you for your input and upvote. I will work on a lower part number build. Try to get this down altimeter to around 25 parts or lower.
@SavageMan Are you familiar with the Newcomb–Benford law? If not you should look into it. It is an amazing phenomenon. Something I have been interested in since all my math courses in college. Actually watched a documentary about it recently. Things like the Golden Ratio, Fibonacci Numbers, and Newcomb–Benford law make the 'Matrix" that much more real. (I don't mean an actual belief in the 'Matrix' in the movie sense but, something organic and complex). Anyway, this law has never been able to be disproved or circumvented. Actually, it is how they caught ENRON back in the day cooking their books.
Well, IDK if the evidence is real that I had read but, if it is there is going to be some serious litigation happening here.

OBVIOUSLY, You setup a challenge and put no effort into the grading system. I reviewed others build which entered this contest and there were choices which took way more time into their builds. Including mine.
Please, do not host another challenge ever.
You are not the only one who has created a failed challenge but, you defiantly rushed your decisions or this was RIGGED
@Revan13152 Oh yeah! I forgot about that one. I didn't download it and try it out. I didn't feel like dealing with the game crashing. It's a ridiculous part count.
I have the newest 2020 iMac and it's has the best video card they offer but, it still won't cut it for that I am betting. I am thinking an Nvidia 2080 or the new 3080 in the 'Ti' version of course.
@KangaKangaTheRoo
You won't need a degree to fly but, it won't hurt. Though, to fly in the military I am sure you know you do have to have a degree. Most officers hold engineering degrees.
It's never to early to start learning to fly. Well, in the USA to fly an airplane you have to be 16 to get the license. I worked with a guy who got his at 16, no degree, and now he flies multi engine jets (Commercial Cargo) out of his home state of Indiana.
As long as you don't fear flying at all, I say to do it. Nothing more peaceful than just riding up high.
@KangaKangaTheRoo
Our last ones being used will be phased out in the next 2 years I believe.
We went from flying them non-stop to only a few hours per plane. The story was that some engineer back in the day made a miscalculation which, they caught somewhere around 2000. That killed our flight hours and that caused all these old birds to sit on the flight line most of the time and sent a bunch to the boneyard.
We went from having 12 aircraft per squadron to around 3 to 5 at the very most.
The other weird part was we used to never have enough maintainers. Then they took away all those aircraft and all of a sudden our shop grew. It made no sense. A Mechanic shop of 30 people in total jumped up to 60. Yet, we had 1/4 of the aircraft. People were pretty much either sitting on their butts all day or fighting for the available work. I spent a good amount of time writing up discrepancies so we had work to do. Those engines became SPOTLESS. Not a wrong washer on the beasts. lol
@AzureCorp Thank you!
I have taken flying lessons and flown a few single engine Cessna's.
Airplanes in real life are more forgiving on landings. Not so easy to bounce when you are within the correct parameters. Such as speed, flaps, and AOA. Though, when you bounce in real life, you better add power and pull up. You can and will crash and you don't get to RESTART :) lol
@AndrewGarrison Did a full restart. Set updates to High Priority and always allow background downloads.
Switched between Public Test, to Experimental and Opt Out, then back to Experimental.
It shows it updating but it still is the same experimental version.
@KangaKangaTheRoo
I was sad to see the P-3 being replaced. Though, they did pick the perfect aircraft for it. The 737 is one safe aircraft. (Minus the 800 max)
@AzureCorp Sorry, if I disappoint you but, I was not a pilot. I was a gas turbine mechanic and quality assurance. I have flown the P-3 but not takeoff or landings. They don't allow untrained to takeoff or land.
@SquadronSquadronTheLeaderX
I know you only posted that for fun but, honestly what I am about to state is very real.
The P-8 sees them coming before they can even spool up their engines... One call and that SU-33 will look like a pile of metal. The P-8 can even defend itself. P-3 could also.
I used to work on P-3's and we could detect and track them way ahead of them ever showing up.
They always make it a big deal when a fighter plane intercepts a reconnaissance aircraft. It's a joke. For real. It's only a big deal because many of the times the Russians and the Chinese are disrespectful and dangerous when they intercept.
As with the Hainan Island incident back in 2001.
I was good friends with the Flight Engineer on that flight. The Chinese had done this to them before and it was the Chinese pilot did the dumbest thing possible. He got behind their wing. You can't do that behind a plane and much much less behind a propeller aircraft. It's called PROP WASH. It causes the trailing plane to lose lift due to the air turbulence. That Chinese pilot almost killed an entire crew because, he wanted to be aggressive. The Russians know better. They are very skilled pilots and while aggressive, they are a force to be respected. Their pilots are as skilled and intelligent as ours in the USA.
@SavageMan What other kind of pen pals are there? We are writing back and fourth about our experiences with this pandemic and he is giving me insight on how the Chinese are keeping this scourge at bay. He is in middle school so you know you can trust him to be honest unlike all of our so called adults in power.
I am glad he can share this information. It seems the rest of the world is too arrogant to take the measures they do in certain Asian countries to stop the spread of the disease. I feel bad for being the bad guy and spewing my anger towards his government on him in the beginning. Thankfully he is a better person than me and now I can make up for it.
@BlackThuNDR I do enjoy :) I actually got to get inside of one of these bad boys when lived in Arizona. I was driving by an airfield and saw it sitting there. So, I pulled over and asked the old guys working on it if they wouldn't mind or had the time to show me. They were very friendly and more than willing to let me crawl though it. I then offered to help do maintenance on it since I worked on P-3's which are a prop plane. Well, they were a tight nit crew so they weren't looking for anyone to join the ranks. (I get that and I wasn't interested in trying to pursue it any further) Plus, you have to have an A&P certification which I didn't have.
AH MAN! I can't drive on the right side. Just Kidding
SO, one thing I noticed and I hope makes you smile is that I found that the windshield glass was actually curved. It may seem simple to some or not a big deal. I think it's an amazing attention to detail. This car is below 1000 parts and is so lifelike. Great Job!
@ShiroNeko Yeah, it's weird like programming Arduino vs a full set of C+ or programming in xcode vs C+. Not that I know what I am doing with those either but, it's funky. Maybe that's why they call it Funky Trees. I like that we can use it but, I wish there were more descriptions on how to use the functions with flight data and inputs.
@ShiroNeko Thank you. Actually, last night I was able to figure out how to make an auto tracking turret with a more simplified code. IDK why the person who wrote the original code made it so difficult. Now I understand Funky Trees a little more, I have found it can be done with a code that is about 25 characters long versus their 300

Well that takeoff escalated quickly
+4In Russia we use shovel to defeat stealth technology...
Actually, they use quantum radar. Scary that stealth is no longer stealth
@SavageMan Thats ok of course. I just thought the Newcomb–Benford law would be interesting.

Is this the build with the highest part count so far? I don't count someone building a tower and making mirrored parts constantly.

@SCPMTF12 I updated this post with an image to show how I did it.
@lilsniper334 Hey professor PC, a fuselage is the main body of an aircraft. Who cares what it is made out of.
