  • [1.9.202 Beta] New Features Explained + Impressions 5.8 years ago

    @SnoWFLakE0s, @Minecraftpoweer
    I am trying to use an "if, else, then" statement in a GYROSCOPE "Pitch Input". Basically I want the Pitch to only work when above a certain altitude. Seems simple enough. Probably, should go at this another way. The syntax I put below is what I have tried. All failed. I did run into one that I made that worked slightly. But, alas I deleted it and moved on with the syntax I have now then forgot the old one.
    if( AltitudeAgl < 0.1) then( "Pitch" = 0) else( "Pitch" = 1, -1)
    if AltitudeAgl < 0.1 then "Pitch" = 0 else "Pitch" = 1, -1
    if AltitudeAgl < 0.1 then Pitch = 0 else Pitch = 1, -1
    if AltitudeAgl < 0.1, then Pitch = 0, else Pitch = 1, -1

    That's a sexy tank. I really like the detail. The lettering is different and wicked awesome because it isn't blocky like the rest. Looks like a font rather than a stencil.

    Yes, adjustable rims would be nice. But, you can go one step further for now to make it more realistic.

    @SnoWFLakE0s That is amazing! I love it. Are they not posting it because they are creating a build to use it on?

    @SnoWFLakE0s
    MY PID EXAMPLE
    Basic as it gets. Just toyed around with it some and figured out it was as easy as it looked for engines. As for a wing... grrr. that just wasn't working as it was supposed to. Kept flipping upside down no matter what my TARGET degree was.
    I tried all 3 combos. Even changed the P.I.D. to -1,0,1; 1,0,-1
    none worked as I wanted.
    PID ( 0, RollAngle, 0.1, 0, 0.1 )
    PID ( 90, RollAngle, 0.1, 0, 0.1 )
    PID ( 180, RollAngle, 0.1, 0, 0.1 )
    PID ( 360, RollAngle, 0.1, 0, 0.1 )

    It is a reward for doing the correct thing which, should have been done in the first place. IDK how old you are but, please read things thoroughly and do not make accusations until you read and understand them properly.

    @SnoWFLakE0s Thanks for the super quick response. I will keep working on it. See if I can make something basic work and then share.

  • [1.9.202 Beta] New Features Explained + Impressions 5.8 years ago

    Alright, here is the problem. Attempting to write any code into overload is proving difficult for me to understand. It seems to me that we are using a shaved down XML language.

    Let's look at this from a C# standpoint.
    This would be a PID controller in it's basic form.
    How could I express that in Funky Trees? Any idea?

        public float Kp = 1;
        public float Ki = 0;
        public float Kd = 0.1f;
        private float prevError;
        private float P, I, D;

    public float GetOutput(float currentError, float dt)
    {
        P = currentError;
        I += P * dt;
        D = (P - prevError) / dt;
        prevError = currentError;

        return P*Kp + I*Ki + D*Kd;
    }

    What part of this build is "Funky Trees"?
    Please, remove the "Funky Trees" tag if you have no "Funky Trees"
    If you don't understand what "Funky Trees" is then please click on the link below. It will explain what it is.

  • Prototype Inertial Navigation System (INS) (Beta) 5.8 years ago

    @vcharng Ah, I as usual didn't pay attention to the name :) Sorry about that.
    Though, I think your efforts to show FT tech is a great feat and I hope more upvote because, upvoting it part of encouragement to build more and better things.
    You do have talent so you deserve the recognition!

  • Prototype Inertial Navigation System (INS) (Beta) 5.8 years ago

    I believe it would work. You could place dots on the map and those will act as the points of interest. Though, the formula isn't quite complete. It needs to be able to triangulate where you are on the map and display that properly. Whenever I restart, it places the locator dot dead center. It is working more like a return to home from where you started rather than a radar or GPS.
    I hope I helped and made it clear. I am not as brilliant as you with the calculus but, I figure if i help point out weaknesses that it will help you make this more spectacular than it already is.

    Also, I changed the drag settings to false and 0 on every part, also no collisions for all parts, and set the pistons to not break. Because, when I tested it with my craft which is very heavy. It would snap apart.

    Thanks for your build. Keep working on it!!!

  • Realistic Walkers: Biomechanics in SimplePlanes 5.8 years ago

    Every now and then I make my attempts to create a walking craft. Never successful. Maybe this will help. I even was working on one yesterday and had to stand up to figure out how my legs moved in order to create the correct movements. I was attempting this yesterday with the most basic Funky Trees formulas. Funny part is my leg design looked identical to yours!

    @Bman01 Thank you

  • Funky tree 5.8 years ago

    @Bman01 Yeah I get that. You tagged it "Funny".
    Though, the point of TAGS is so people can filter their search for a craft they want to find. So, I am sure you can understand when it's labeled incorrectly it just causes clutter.
    If you are not going to remove the TAG then I suppose you are just being difficult.

  • For car lights 5.8 years ago

    Nice use of Funky Trees!

  • Funky tree 5.8 years ago

    There isn't "Funky Trees" in your build. If there is...where is it?
    Please review the link and if you didn't use any Funky Tress coding in your build, please remove the "Funky Tree" tag.
    I am just trying to help prevent having people to have to filter through non-funkytree builds when attempting to learn from each others Funky Tress coding.

    FUNKY TREES

    I understand you want to represent Funky Trees. It would be better if you made the tree use a Funky Trees algorithm in order to actually belong to the Funky Trees TAG.

    Thank you

    WARNING

    NO SUCH THING AS CHEMICAL IMBALANCE!!!

    My rant is about Panic/Anxiety. Though, if you know even a little you will know OCD/Anxiety/Depression follow each other. We use OCD (repetition or routine to feel secure), when we lose that we become anxious, then comes depression.

    Though, it may not manifest in this order for you anymore. It is behind the scenes in your brain.

    There is such a thing as cognitive based learning. Chemical imbalance is a pharmaceutical term. The truth is that we learn to be afraid of things though life experiences. You are not scared of spiders because they are scary. Someone made you feel they were scary. (I am actually not scared of them)
    We also learn to be sad through life experience.
    In order to change this we need to change our cognitive outlook.

    This is all fact. I am proof. I spent 10 years in the military and experienced so many near death situations that I became hypersensitive to nearly all situations with any stress. I had near daily anxiety, panic attacks all the time.
    I do take Zoloft and plan on stopping soon. First I want to quit smoking. Wish I never started taking it. If I knew what I know now then I wouldn't ever needed to start taking it.

    -What I have learned so far.
    !Stop Panic Attacks
    I have learned to accept the fear, ask for more, and think about the worst case scenario. Then ask for more! Sounds counter-intuitive, trust me it does the opposite you think it does. It actually makes your brain realize that you are fearing nothing but fear itself. Sort of...

    Do some of these things when your depressed.
    -Cry
    -delete all News apps on your devices and turn off all news (They fear monger and feed only negative news)
    -Think how others have it worse than you --> (maybe you do have it the worst, your a paraplegic, with a non-functioning unit, blind, deaf, dumb, and can't even play SimplePlanes) Do you really have it that bad???
    -Hug. Don't have someone to hug, get a dog. Cats are narcissists ;)
    -Stay away from alcohol and rec drugs (these create a depression/anxiety cycle)
    -If it's S.A.D. aka. winter blues. Buy a T-5 florescent light at your big box store. Hang it above you while you build SimplePlanes builds. Can't afford that, go to a retail store with bright lights. Walk around and talk to random people or stay to yourself and read product boxes.
    -Go to a Starbucks, drink a caramel macchiato with an extra shot and stare at people until one says somet

    @Minecraftpoweer Me too and didn't work for me either

  • Not feeling too great 5.8 years ago

    Winter Blues.
    * IT IS OK TO CRY. We all should. It relieves things like this*
    I am 43 and I will tell you that you are not a man unless you can cry now and then to let that stress go.
    -Go to a big box store and get under them bright lights. Maybe even just stand there and talk to random people.
    -Don't think farther than today. If you think farther than today it puts a damper on things. We naturally don't think ahead so when we do we get depressed. We plan yes but, don't actually think future.
    -Play upbeat music.
    -Start taking magnesium glycinate once a day. They say 3-4 a day on the bottle but 1 per day is enough or when you feel you need it.
    -Take vitamin D suppliments
    -Start eating yogurt daily. Studies have shown in our antibiotic laden world we kill off all the good bacteria that actually provides enzymes or something that helps build up serotonin.
    -Write down your thoughts.
    -Get up and get moving until you tire.
    -Stay away from alcohol and recreational drugs.
    -Don't read the news. All they do is fear monger and report any bad they can to get ratings. Delete news apps.
    -Walk through the woods if you have any.

    These are my tools. I actually own a big T-5 shop light, I turn on when feeling this way. SUPER BRIGHT! lol

    Lastly, you are not alone. As with all things, it comes and goes. Sometimes that cloud hangs much longer, so you just gotta hold on longer and fight it off. Find ways to cope and test each one. Some things take weeks to get you in a better mood.

    @WarHawk95 Lost my Dad when I was 28. Still bothers me today a little. Write your dad a letter. Everything you ever wanted to say. Tell him how it hurts and how you are mad that he left you. Then burn it. It will help you let go some. Remember a father loves their child more than anyone can imagine. His son looks up to him as invincible. That is what makes it so hard. You will be ok friend

    @SledDriver I bet that it handles like that. Just looking at the body of the SR-71 you can see such a flat design would be like a sled. I like many of us love the SR-71. Not just because of being a design by the USA but, the innovation and amazing abilities it held. It was and is every child's favorite airplane! I remember having a poster of it on my wall as a child. When I think about it, I think how funny it is because, my father was in the Navy and he allowed that on my wall lol
