I have some questions regarding cars

    • Will you finally fix the buggy as hell wheels?
    • Will there be more parameters to tune the car engine?
    • Will the ground physics act closer to sim-level physics? If so, will you implement TC to the engine and ABS for wheels to the game for the car goons?

  • Lowtus FModular VARDRACE Baja V1 6 months ago

Design: 6/10. Too much aero and too big of an engine. Falls under the Pikes Peak rule so this is at least safe
Originallity: 3/5. Yet another low-effort build that doesn't care about the suspensions and cockpit
Details: 3/5. Just the same as the Track ver
Handling: 4/10. The car at least doesn't explode, but it still suffers heavily from Understeer
Mod Smoothness: 1/5. Can already imagine the nightmare

    Overall: 17/35. Still shit

  • Lowtus FModular VARDRACE Track V1 6 months ago

Design: 6/10. Too much aero and too big of an engine
Originallity: 3/5. Yet another low-effort build that doesn't care about the suspensions and cockpit
Details: 4/5. Nice big V12 with an unrealistic displacement for that gigantic size
Handling: 3/10. HEAVY understeer. And the car explodes when landing even from the already low track at Sky Park
Mod Smoothness: 1/5. Can already imagine the nightmare

Overall: 17/35. Shit. That's my only word

Design: 8/10. I personally don't like skinny cars, but since it's Indy, having a thin car for less drag is essential
Originallity: 5/5. Everything is different, and I love it!
Details: 5/5. From the front S-Duct, the side inlet to the exhaust piping. The most detailed by far!
Handling: 8/10. Utter smooth! Although the turn in is quite slow compared to what I did with the FModular
Mod Smoothness: 2/5. Probably won't be the smoothest due to how low it is to the ground. I clipped an invisible bump when testdriving at Yeager Airport. My laptop's locked out in the safe (Fuck you, mom) so I can't really test right now, only on my phone with vanilla SP maps

Overall: 28/35. By far the best entry of the challenge. And the only one that I like. The rest are just effortless, overpowered and lazy deprivates from bronze users

  • Lowtus FModular "Pikes Peak" edition 7 months ago

    Here is your score

Design: 8/10. Very Pikes Peak, although unexpected for a circuit racer
    Originallity: 5/5. Same as above
Details: 4/5. Love the adjustable suspension, although the rockers can make some use of covering for better aero
Handling: 4/10. Very sensitive to steering. Snaps out with about half the Roll input and is very twitchy at high speed in a straightline
Mod Smoothness: 4/5. The extra rockers would blow the car up if driven carelessly on any mod maps, otherwise it's fine

Overall: 24/35. A solid yet unusual intepretation of the car, i should say

  • Lowtus FModular 8 months ago

    Here's your score

Design: 3/10. Exactly the same as the provided car
Originality: 1/5. No change other than the suspension
    Detail: 0/5. No extra detail
Handling: 3/10. Handles way worse than the given car. The steering turns slowly, the car skids when on neutral steering, requires too much braking to make Gold Prix corners
Mod Smoothness: 3/5. Essentially the same as the provided car

Overall: 10/35. Exactly the same as the provided car minus the paint job, worse front suspension and engine power. I hate people like you who does nothing actually worth it to the car

  • Lowtus FModular-hp 8 months ago

    Here's Your Score

Design: 8/10. Someone actually put effort in designing an engine cover and it looks solid! Most of the car remains unchanged though. Fuselages in place for wings looks oversized
Originallity: 4/5. Highly original. Most of the car remains unchanged apart from the new engine cover
Details: 3/5. Essentially the same as the provided car. The steering wheel is locked in place
Handling: 7/10. Requires alot of braking to make all the turns in Gold Prix. Understeers alot and the CoM is beyond the lowest point of the car
Mod Smoothness: 3/5. Essentially the same as the provided car

Overall: 25/35. You did a very good job on this intepretation of the FModular, i give you that. Although there is a little bit of mistakes across the car's handling

  • [Lowtus x AMTEK] FModular racecar 8 months ago

    Here is your score:

Design: 7/10. That's alot of oversized wings, but at least it makes the car look cool tbh
Originallity: 4/5. Very original. Apart from the rear end and chassis design, it's a solid take
Details: 3/5. Essentially the same as the provided car
Handling: 8/10. Runs quite quickly through corners in Gold Prix, and also has the capability to safely go through Daytona
Mod Smoothness: 2/5. The car explodes right when it hits an invisible bump

Overall: 24/35. Not the best car for mod tracks and certainly not the best intepretation i'd expect, but it's a solid take on how fast the thing can go without limits

P.S. the logo on the nose of the car is not the one i use lol

  • Lowtus LF-206M 8 months ago

    @ToeTips

    Here are my answers:

    • For the first one. It wasn't supposed to. SP auto connections are just painfully inaccurate and ruins a build

    • For the second one, you can easily adjust the caster angle of a car that's designed to do so without much issues and the car will still run fine

    • For the 3rd one, yes. Although you will have to take into consideration the compressing under load of the control bases if not done correctly, and that the Y-Axis is unremovable which can make suspension design tricky, somehow

    • For the 4th one, yes. The shorter your spring as per adjusted in XML, the smaller the travel with little to no stiffness change

  • Lowtus LF-206M 8 months ago

@ToeTips Why? Alot of them looks out-of-time and i wanted to clean up my profile

Also, ask away about your suspension questions

  • FModular Challenge 8 months ago

@V Sure! I'd count on 4 of them at max

  • Lowtus FModular BISON 8 months ago

    This is your score

Design: 5/10. Exactly the same as the provided car. The engine is also wrongly placed and is too small. The Flight Computer part is detached from the car, which makes using Chase Cam and Pedal cam impossible
Originallity: 1/5. Again, exactly the same apart from the engine which comes from a @MVC build
Details: 0/5. Exactly the same as the provided car minus the engine
Handling: 5/10. Handles essentially the same as the provided car
Mod Smoothness: 3/5. Exactly the same as the provided car

    Total: 14/35

Totally no originallity, just an engine swap. And you didn't even credit the person to made that engine, which was originally intended for road cars only given its size

    +1
  • FModular Challenge 8 months ago

@TatsuTheOtaku You can add different aerodynamic parts and a sidepod. That's essentially a bodykit. People use that term for road cars only so kinda weird to see you use that

@FOXHOUND26 Paintjob is open for change as it's your own stuff (Also it's obvious). The interior includes the steering wheel, the 3 pedals, the dash, the stick on the side and the cockpit shields. You can change all of that to your own style as well as add something new to it. Unless you meant the wheels that rolls, because only custom rims are allowed on them. The wheel type must always stay as either Landing Gear, Racing or Performance

  • Old players, what is your favorite memory of SP? 8 months ago

Earliest memory? Making a custom set of sport planes off of an existing creation back in 1.10, a low-quality replica of the 777X, and the slow transition to modern formula cars from the now obsolete OWR-01A to the modern, also obsolete LF02, and finally ending with the LF-206M as i move to vintage-yet-modern open wheel racing cars

Started off during the classic 1.9 days, somewhat nearing 1.10's release. I remember the Bush Plane being my first plane that i ever flew and i figured out controls right away when i first installed SP 1.9 on my cousin's old tablet
