    Built-in bomb bays

As an explanation, think of how the Wing part works: you have the wing, and then you can add cut-outs that serve a function based on input (control surfaces)
What if there was a hollow fuselage with a similar function. It looks like a hollow fuselage and acts as one, but you can add bomb bays and change their shape, size, how many bends are in it, the AG group activation, angle, speed, that kinda thing
I know its a lot, sorry, but it's just an idea :)

  • Small Feature Wish List for v1.11 Update 2.5 years ago

Sorry, I know this has probably already been asked for, but I think that having an expanded amount of AG groups will be SUPER beneficial. Maybe even 2 more would help a ton, 4 at best
I think it would help a lot of people add some cool features for VR players as well, having more levers and buttons to press for them

Is it possible to add heat haze for jet engines into the game?
    .
Like, when you go to high graphical settings, it activates. Or maybe there's a separate feature for it?

  • Small Feature Wish List for v1.11 Update 2.5 years ago

As many people have stated below, it would be SUPER useful to have more than 8 input values. Or maybe if we could have a customizable HUD for the standard SP, because the VR players are already going to basically have that in front of them. Not sure how this could be implemented though. Thanks

  • Small Feature Wish List for v1.11 Update 2.6 years ago

Okay, okay, so this might have to be done in a future update, but hear me out:
    .
Is it possible to maybe add an rpm system to the engines? That way we can design working gears for said engines.
Or maybe like instead of the built-in propeller engines, there was one interchangeable engine. It could be a V engine, U engine, Flathead, Inline, Rotary, Wankel Rotary, Radial, that form of thing. Choose how many rows or pistons, the power output, size, RPM control, fuel consumption, and bam! Engine time
Then you could smack that onto a fuselage and use it. With that, you could select output to a new propeller block that has the same options as the old one, maybe with things like the prop style, blade count, thickness, the hub style, that form of thing. Turboprops could be made by connecting something like the VTOL engine to the prop instead of using a turboprop part, or maybe with a whole new procedural jet engine.
Along with the new RPM thing, you could add mixture controls as well, like in real aircraft, and control the RPM govenor of the engine, along with things like TurboChargers, and SuperChargers.
    .
Like my last suggestion, this is all just an idea, not forcing you to build anything. I just think something like this would make builds look a lot better, and it would allow for a lot more realism and control with the build. Thanks

There are many things that attribute to people wanting to download/comment on a build. And only the former is the most popular as many people tend to not comment, but only download and leave.
Furthermore, custom thumbnails, and even just a better build quality is better

  • are F-22 is an PSM? 2.4 years ago

An aircraft can't BE a PSM. But yes, the F-22 can do PSMs. It has thrust vectoring and a greater than 1:1 power to weight ratio
    .
But the TVC only goes on the pitch axis, not on Roll or Yaw, meaning that the aircraft can only do controlled PSMs with pitching like the Hammerhead, for instance

  • Small Feature Wish List for v1.11 Update 2.6 years ago

As a more descriptive version of Sm10684's suggestion, what if (and maybe not in this update) there was something like at most a procedural engine. How powerful is the turbine/compressors? What layout is the engine (is it a flathead? What about a flathead 6, or maybe a V-12 for Spitfires)? What about adding superchargers/turbochargers? Maybe like an impeller for boats that function only in water, or a prop for boats
And maybe you could choose between a turboengine and a piston engine or something. Then there would have to be a propeller part to attach, or you can attach wheels
    .
This is all an idea, but I'd hope it could be real! And especially if they all had realistic sounds. Thanks, devs

  • How do missiles in SP track and how do flares decoy the missile? 2.4 years ago

The missiles target and lock onto the cockpit block, which likely has some form of a code that allows missiles to know its location, and the most accurate path to take to connect to the cockpit part
    .
The flares and chaff each have a certain amount of fires before the missile gives up. I think with flares it is 4 flares per missile. If its still locking, it is 1 flare. I'm not sure about chaff though. But either way, it's just a simple code that stops the missile from tracking after a certain number of flares/chaff have been fired (unless you relock onto the target, that is). As CC1010 said below, the missiles do not chase the flares, but rather are disengaged by them

  • How to use a gyroscope 2.7 years ago

    Ooh, good question
    .
For one, it is meant for gyro-stablized systems (helicopters, VTOL aircraft, etc), and it has WAYY better things to do than just stabilizing things to a neutral pitch/roll. You can activate gyro-based controls for pitch, roll, and yaw, as well as setting the pitch it stabilizes to. You can also increase (or decrease) its power or stability to your needs
    .
Some masters of the funky trees realm also use gyros to create really good cannons for tanks (gyros automatically stablize, and are a lot smoother).
    .
    I hope this helps!

  • WW2 bomber 3.3 years ago

I'm sorry, but it is not realistic and it does not even fit the theme of ww2. Nor does it even look good. You have a little under a month to do this, why not take the time to learn some new tricks and make something really cool?

    Here's why it's not realistic:

    • Minigun was not invented until 1960
    • Lock missiles were not used in WW2 (though the Germans experimented with Radio-guided missiles)
    • Countermeasures were not used in WW2 (nor were they needed)
    • This plane does not have a color scheme
    • The plane is not realistic in any way shape or form
    • And finally, that wing loading is very scary, this thing can probably barely turn.

Sorry, lad. But I cannot enter this into the challenge, but I will gratefully accept another entry

I entirely agree with all of this. The forums are for help, for giving tips or new concepts to the community, trying to advertise a newly released build/teasing an in-progress one, and challenges and such. A year or so back, a Dev or Mod, I don't remember who exactly, sent out a forum basically saying that "making a forum denouncing someone else or a group being annoying, while helpful, is more fuel for the fire, as people will try making a forum like that too"
Although, I disagree with that bit
