Is there any change that some features from Juno New Origins is gonna get added to Simpleplanes? Like the newly released procedural wings or an actual functional light part
Tbh Simpleplanes having those small things would be amazing ngl.
Its true that a lot of (aircraft) builds in sp lack proper flight models which pretty much ruins the entire build tbh, but doing a proper flight model takes just as much effort (or even more) than making the aircraft model itself.
Here are a couple comments:
3:00 (weight model)
- setting realistic weights for aircrafts is quite important but its not always applicable specially for larger, and heavier aircrafts due to parts freaking out at higher weights, in such cases, you could "simulate" the true weight of aircrafts as long as the other parts (thrust, lift, etc.) are also accurately scaled to the ingame weight
6:10 (drag model)
- today I learn something new (I guess)
9:30 (thrust)
- If you dont wanna do "math" you could instead use the runway requirement charts from the aircraft manufacturer, it should give you a decent acceleration value for the specific configuration (weight and aircraft configuration) and altitude (runway elevation), although doing it mathematically is more accurate.
Creating a good flight model takes a lot of time to do (a couple hours to even days) as it involves a lot of fine tuning, trial and errors, and testing, but the feeling once you get it just right is just amazing.
Anyways enough yapping, this is a pretty good video for those who are looking to make a good flight model and tbh I even learned a couple new stuff on this vid.
I guess it's time to revive my dead YouTube channel
Too bad that I wasn't recording when we were playing with "Average", that's certainly one of the best moments in SP2 - an A400M landing while towing a bugger

+2Hey
Have you tried building your own stuff
Building planes is very hard you know and also this is a one day build which make it much harder
Crazy man go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
