Another little inconsistency is the couple seconds we see of Romeo Blue in the beginning, a Jaeger with a speed of 2 and a power of 7, shows the mech moving really quite slowly. It’s swing just isn’t very fast.

I believe there’s the video put out by the CG company where some extra views are available, and I think that showed it grabbing the bridge with some weird extendy fist thing.
Point is in that shot a difference of 1 seems to have great effect. Likewise, Crimson has three times the speed stat yet clearly isn’t three times as fast.
Anyhow, clearly the definite specs were not at the forefront of the minds of the creators.
