u are right when u said no one have ever seen such a big thing on the dash on planes. but if u know how to use it this is one of the only things u will ever need to stay in the air, of course unless a mountain says otherwise, this is one of the most useful instruments literally i make sure i can see it.
watch this pilot trainee flying "blindfolded" starting at 13:50.
well, flying without looking around is an actual flying skill. theres an actual curriculum, it's an actual thing that saves people from the top deadly plane crash scenario. actually flying without looking outside is what top pilot in real life learn how to do before the weather says otherwise. if u know how to fly real planes especially a commercial one you will know how little looking outside really means to flying. look up instrument flight rule to learn more. when u fly real plane u actually have lots of time looking outside is the same as looking at a wall
@GriseoCattus do u mean ComradeKaiser7? he would have been a much happier man with my planes after he sees the difference between my x5b-2b and x5f... seriously. x5b-2b wasnt even funky treed. i am only 1 months into this simpleplane thing and already made like 20 new plane designs. i dont have a life anymore lol
@ZeroWithSlashedO it's funny how people complains about my instruments tho. but i think its ok 99.9% of the people here dont fly real planes and even 99% of real pilots are not good with IFR and dont know how to use the ROC meter. they just dont know how important that big clock thing on the right does. i can eat my whole dinner flying these planes without looking outside the window or crash or both just by looking at that. 99% of the people will die doing what i do, flying without looking outside. this is REAL piloting skill. look up IFR on youtube or internet. i only wish i can implement a better looking ILS to improve realism. then I can do a thick fog landing (yes 20 feet visibility) on carrier. its funny when people complained about the handling of the earlier versions of my plane when i can land them all on carrier. but then i agree i find it difficult to do too on a phone. i had done my earlier testing using a flight stick... now i have to buy 2 copies of sp... smhlol
@ZeroWithSlashedO but u said only the final product counts? the old planes are quite a bit different from the very first day i submitted, big changes, u are gonna test all again after the real deadline right? i think all planes have only been coded/funky treed after he tested. codings are the last thing i do. i make agile airframes (sometimes uncontrollable) first, then put fly by wire in at the end, i believe all the planes he tested were not funky treed yet.
@ZeroWithSlashedO this one, no. just a plane with a really heavy spec. each of my planes have their technical challenges and solely for psm with a near 1.4 t/w. but if u think my fictional touch is too much then u can disqualify. think my earlier 3 planes are all reasonably NOT meme. the last one which looks like a gundam, maybe. personally i dont know what meme build is, probably a ufo that looks like a teddy bear and flies/does psm with no wings at all.
I tried removing the rear landing gear and the part holding it and installed a set of wing landing gears near the outer wing tips and the plane no longer turns during take off thank me later
@ZeroWithSlashedO well i just finished a good one i havent uploaded yet, i will probably only upload few days later and ask u so i wont break any rules, and no, they are not even in my profile. the ones that i already uploaded are shitty in comparison. i think i still have 3 spots for new designs?
@Falco7 hey the f-16 is excellent for this. i was going to make one for f-16 if i am not stuck with all the tvc traditions i am having for my designs here. f-16 is a top for my list of standard platform.
@ZeroWithSlashedO i remember if i do it again from that redirected post it might as well become a true successor, if that doesnt work i will do something to make it one then. lemme try that tmr first
let me know of an easier way to successor to this event other than going into xml, i cant find a cockpit in my design already and cant sub-assembly my whole plane to yours.
@Mattthepilot12 not really, i know its unstable but if u know the drill its actually good. if u r not going over the aoa limit it behaves like a normal plane. this kind of planes they use fly-by-wire to stabilize in real life so u dont accelerate into the turns the way the plane tend to do. all 3 axis are good imo. if u r using mobile phone to fly this of cos it will be a hard thing to do. this plane needs u to put a lot into the rudder input. i can land this thing on a carrier no problem. just dont expect this to be the many arcade/toyish ace combat planes people make here that flies like a train.
@X99STRIKER is that the balancing u found defective? i just updated a new one now it doesnt sway to one side anymore. thanks. if theres anything else u think my plane needs improvement please let me know. i hope u dont use mobile tho, using my planes on mobile can be tough.
@OrderlyHippo u like it? theres still some minor things i need to fix with this thing. i probably have 5 other planes i can share at the challenge, 5 different designs.
@ZeroWithSlashedO fine then i will keep things short. this method is a bit much hacking for my comfort, is the posting of aircraft final candidate or do i get a chance to edit? if i do get to edit after i put my plane here then i will just post it to keep things simple
@ZeroWithSlashedO well, i am gonna post 3 completed planes out of the 30ish that i made last 4 days, probably end up with 5 entries so the 3 are ones that probably a lot of work wont help much with the flying. just to find out i am pretty thrust vectoring/vtol engine heavy since u said tv/vtol welcome, but then u said somewhere in the thread that u hated thrust vectoring bullshit, so should i go or not? lol. well all my designs are pretty good imo. i need to work on the hud tho i think. i just grab them so i can at least fly/test my planes. plane wise quite original. can i post wip and change before the deadline or all posts are final? sometimes i wish people can try them and tell me ideas on improvements. my planes are made with pc i think they are a bit on the sensitive side if u use it on a phone too. i wish i can post earlier so i wont break your rules. at least i dont cheat with codes, code hack wings and without doing it i pretty much already broke the physics and made newton scream already. i just dont want to scream on your deadline when i find out i broke your rules on last minute, btw where is a good place to find a g-limiter of your choice? edit: after looking closer to the rules i just find out u said 1.4 w/t is for before after burning and ok with 2.7 w/ after burning i just read off my (i) all the time and made sure it's under 1.4 duh. how do u check the number with and without afterburning?
what if it's so maneuverable i almost kicked flat spin out of the equation??
btw sometimes stability and super-maneuverability don't mix, i.e. many of them has negative stability (accelerates into a turn that works better when ai assisted aka fly-by-wire)
i have a really good plane wip that does all of the above. i was going to call it the navy's wetdream if the moderators let me do it.
@BarrowAircraft it is especially if u see it in a dogfight. and especially after both planes fell into the water and u takeoff from the water like a boss
@ZeroWithSlashedO btw how much more points if the plane has no tvc??? i find it exponentially difficult to make, but i love making one.

if u can fly only by looking outside.

this makes me want rebuild something like the sundog from the 80s
just wow. i love the camera bob.
looks like i have made some inspirations on paintjobs and nozzles. lol.
@FalcoOne all the best with the school transfer then! good luck!
@FalcoOne still waiting for your entries lol
@GriseoCattus nice but like we also need to broadcast this thing. perhaps many people who were interested earlier were just too busy
@ZeroWithSlashedO this one, no. just a plane with a really heavy spec. each of my planes have their technical challenges and solely for psm with a near 1.4 t/w. but if u think my fictional touch is too much then u can disqualify. think my earlier 3 planes are all reasonably NOT meme. the last one which looks like a gundam, maybe. personally i dont know what meme build is, probably a ufo that looks like a teddy bear and flies/does psm with no wings at all.
not yet close to 12 contestants are we?
@SkyJayTheFirst still waiting for your entry
every clipped wing spitfire should get a chance to go into a rolling battle with a fw190
this one is very nice, would also love to see the clip wing go into a rolling battle with the fw190
only 298 drag points.
welcome to the darkside lol
I tried removing the rear landing gear and the part holding it and installed a set of wing landing gears near the outer wing tips and the plane no longer turns during take off thank me later

@ZeroWithSlashedO it's necessary.
@ZeroWithSlashedO No. i will take him head on.
@Falco7 hey the f-16 is excellent for this. i was going to make one for f-16 if i am not stuck with all the tvc traditions i am having for my designs here. f-16 is a top for my list of standard platform.
nvm just found a super easy way to do it
@ZeroWithSlashedO i remember if i do it again from that redirected post it might as well become a true successor, if that doesnt work i will do something to make it one then. lemme try that tmr first

@AnderWorks huh?
@X99STRIKER is that the balancing u found defective? i just updated a new one now it doesnt sway to one side anymore. thanks. if theres anything else u think my plane needs improvement please let me know. i hope u dont use mobile tho, using my planes on mobile can be tough.
@X99STRIKER i think i need to update this one soon. still need to fix something
@ZeroWithSlashedO oh i messed up but i think i can change it i am gonna do it anyways
@OrderlyHippo u like it? theres still some minor things i need to fix with this thing. i probably have 5 other planes i can share at the challenge, 5 different designs.
@OrderlyHippo i am sure once u see my plane u will know i am the best of keyboard warriors lol
@ZeroWithSlashedO fine then i will keep things short. this method is a bit much hacking for my comfort, is the posting of aircraft final candidate or do i get a chance to edit? if i do get to edit after i put my plane here then i will just post it to keep things simple

maybe u should try not letting the props get in the way of anything else to see if it helps first?
@SimpleDynamincs this one actually look just like the p51h from war thunder with the same paint scheme
@BarrowAircraft it is especially if u see it in a dogfight. and especially after both planes fell into the water and u takeoff from the water like a boss
