A nice wee challenge, this. Im in.

  • Russian Tanks Or American Tanks? 2.2 years ago

Cromwell. The correct answer is always Cromwell. Unless its Comet. Or Centurion. Or Conqueror.

  • Supermarine S7 Seasprite 2.2 years ago

I must admit that I had to google that. It looks like Iron Man built a 1930s floatplane racer. This is a good thing. @MemrWii

  • How to get even more upvotes (Theoratically) 2.2 years ago

Not meaning to be that guy, but if youre building for the upvotes youre doing it wrong. Build something you want to build. Build something that makes you happy either in the research, the building or in playing around with it afterwards. Building stuff only for the upvote is a fast track to shitsville.

  • Seaplane Challenge 2.2 years ago

Hmmm - I might have something for this challenge, then… @MemrWii

  • Seaplane Challenge 2.2 years ago

Quick question - what is your stance on flying boats? (Asking for a friend ;-) )

  • Panavia TORNADO 2.2 years ago

Holy crap - this is some low part count loveliness.

Yeah - I looked to the b-25, b-26 and the Mistubishi G4M as inspiration. @BittyJupiter360

  • Curtiss-Wright B-27 Crusader 2.2 years ago

Thanks matey! Its an iPhone 8 that is on its last legs (the battery is currently telling me I need service). So a big improvement over the iPhone6 I used to build on. Hoping to get something a bit sexier soon, though…@Tang0five

  • Curtiss-Wright B-27 Crusader 2.2 years ago

You got me. The Marauder was the first thing I thought of when I read "medium bomber". I would have loved to have done one, too. But replicas are way above my skill level. @Tang0five

    • Creator calls his creation a piece of trash.
    • Said piece if trash then gets more than twice the upvotes of my entry…

This isnt bad, though - you just need to finish it?

  • Supermarine Sea Spectre F.1 2.3 years ago

@TWDDerSharkmarine Many thanks! I was trying to adhere to the Supermarine design aesthetic as much as possible and let's face it - Supermarine designed some of the best looking fighters of the prop age.

  • Supermarine Sea Spectre F.1 2.3 years ago

One small update. To make carrier landings easier, set the angle of the tail hook to 45°. Otherwise you need to land an almost perfect 3 pointer to catch the wire.

  • Supermarine Sea Spectre F.1 2.3 years ago

@RAF1 No problem at all - this was fun!

  • Flyfabrikken MYGG-3 2.3 years ago

Cheers! I was really into IL-2 a few years back. Was working with dome guys to get the EE Lightning and the SEPECAT Jaguar into the game. Didnt come to anything, sadly… @Almostbutnotquite

  • Flyfabrikken MYGG-3 2.3 years ago

@Tang0five Youre too kind. I have to say, though - these new parts are bloomin good fun to build with. Actual landing gear wells! Glass bits!! Cockpits that work! :-)

Howdy. Yeah - its been a while. Hope youre well? Im still pottering around, but the tools here are starting to get a bit beyond my ability… Im just getting to grips with the glass!

  • English Electric Lightning F.1A 2.6 years ago

Very nice. Pig ugly, but very nice.

  • Short Stirling B.1 2.6 years ago

@ALDOCHILLGAMING Hmm - it didnt do that when I built it several years and several versions ago. However, can I recommend gaining more altitude before raising the gear? The nose down thing stops when the gear is fully retracted.

Thanks for the full caps, though. Makes your post easier to read….

  • F4 Phantom II 3.2 years ago

No - This bird really has issues. The nose gear seems to fall off and she spins very easily. Not your fault, mate. @FireBirdDynamics

  • F4 Phantom II 3.2 years ago

Fair point. Something is broken with this model, for some reason. It was built 4 and a bit years ago on an older version of SP - maybe thats the reason? @FireBirdDynamics

  • RJ-HE 121 Meerschweinchen 4.8 4.2 years ago

Very nice. Funny thing; the one Im working on for this challenge had its beginnings in a float plane. Mid engined, too. You aren’t the guy I see sometimes camping in the bushes outside my house... are you?

  • BAe Experimental Aircraft Programme (EAP) 4.2 years ago

Thanks! I built this one first then took it apart to fit a second seat. I usually find that single seaters look better in small fast jets, too. @methirasoysa123

  • Ghost Dynamics GF-1001a Fighting Viper 4.8 years ago

This is the first of a series I have started. Ive gone back to the first models I ever built and updated them. This is the original from many, many years ago... http://www.simpleplanes.com/a/2JKnWV/Viper-II-ASP

Hi! You are most welcome- this is a masterpiece. Im good. The last year has been challenging, with a new job that didnt quite pan out (lets just say that the responsibility / stress / workload vs remuneration ratio was a wee bit off). But, I start a whole new job in October and hopefully some balance can be restored to my life. I will be around here more, too! @ChiChiWerx

  • Handley Page Victor B.Mk.2 4.9 years ago

Bloody lovely! Well made, my dear fellow! I would throw a spot your way, but it appears we have leapfrogged each other again. Soon... :-)

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IIa 4.9 years ago

Nope. I built the original and I can state with 100% certainty that this is substantially altered (and improved). @ChiyomiAnzai
