    @Alien But… never mind that - what do you think? I wasnt going for perfect - more "serviceable approximation"…

    @Alien Bloody hell! Theres a sight for sore eyes! Welcome back, old boy!

    @Mrcooldude Oh go on then.

  • The Bomb Challenge 8 days ago

    @MinutesTanker Ive thought about this and no, sorry. One nuke per entry. Having multiple nukes explode would cook my iphone…

  • (Object 160) B/A-160F 9 days ago

    @Pakdaaircraftindustries This is a front runner. Very nice. Asymmetric payloads are the best payloads. Followed closely by symmetrical.

  • The Bomb Challenge 9 days ago

    @MinutesTanker You can use weightless / dragless parts for making nice wings and details, sure. You can even adjust the mass and drag scale of parts for realistic performance (or to get things to work at all). Im not very picky. Im just out to make you guys design some quasi-realistic stuff!

  • The Bomb Challenge 11 days ago

    @Pakdaaircraftindustries No, not altering the payload, so good. Simply put - that would be within the rules, and completely legal. Possibly awesome, even.

    @Boeing727200F You know what? Go for it. Whats the worst that could happen?

  • The Bomb Challenge 12 days ago

    @Boeing727200F Adding parts is fine. Deleting parts from the bomb is not. The thought of a rocket propelled Yellow Sun makes me happy.

    @Hooha12 Yeah sure why not? Just stick to the rules and youre good!

  • The Bomb Challenge 13 days ago

    @RRV19 well yeah - I said I dropped it from 10000ft. I didnt say I made it back to base… :-)

    Looking forward to your entry!

  • The Bomb Challenge 13 days ago

    @RRV19 Im not sure what you mean? I just dropped it from 10000ft, and it went boom just fine?

  • The Bomb Challenge 13 days ago

    @RRV19 Hm. Ive dropped the bomb tens of times from several bombers, and apart from the times where it completely missed the ground (hit the water instead) Ive never had a misfire like you describe. You can add bits to it, though. A parachute is fine.

  • The Bomb Challenge 13 days ago

    @Mrcooldude the B-29 is Edward C. Wells’ solution for dropping nukes. I want to see Mrcooldudes solution!

  • The Bomb Challenge 13 days ago

    @Pakdaaircraftindustries thats what I like to hear. You have no idea, but will try anyway! This is the way.

    @Mrcooldude Absolutely! Have at it!

    NOTE! RULES CLARIFICATION!!
    The bomb itself is around 15 parts. So I will not crucify anyone for going slightly over the max part count.

    @Warsforyou Good stuff! Looking forward to your entry!

    @WarLightning Full on replicas are not allowed. You’ll just be copying a solution that someone else came up with. I could end up with a competition full of V bombers… Which isn’t a bad thing per se, but against the spirit of the competition.

    That being said, if someone were to make a cursed Victor, or a chibi Vulcan then I would be happy… so long as it can still drop the nuke.

    I would also love to see how a P-47 could be made to deliver this, though. I would judge that any P-47 modified to deliver a 7250lb strategic nuke isn’t really a replica any more…

    @TateNT34
    First, thanks for the interest and the upvote! Second - answers!

    1- As a general rule you cant recolour the bomb itself. It is green with a black head and orange stripes. But! If its a hassle to not recolour, of if the colouring makes it awesome, then I might even give added bonus points…

    2- you can add things (like parachutes, detatchers etc) yeah. As it is, it is set to drop on an AG. AG3, if I dont remember wrong. But if you want to use a detatcher to make it drop on firing weapons or whatever its totally fine.

    Rename it? Rename what?

    As a rule Im not going to disqualify folks unless the rule breaking is flagrant, egregious, reprehensible, or just generally really bad.

    Please just build something, and if its inkeeping with the spirit of the competition then youre all good.

  • !!CHALLENGE 50s JET DOGFIGHT 3 months ago

    Quick question regarding the hinge / rotator parts - I see they are set up for use as elevators, and that you stipulate using the structural wing only for our builds. Is it allowed to modify the structural wing you require so that it can have control surfaces? And if so, can we use it for flaps, rudder, ailerons and so on (keeping the g-limit you have in the code)?

    I think I finally found my groove in terms of building stuff. I figured that since I hate doing cockpits, why bother? I build primarily for myself anyway… Just build until Im happy and release the damn thing. Thats my motto from now on.

    @LieutenantSOT No worries! Im happy to have lots of comments (for once). As for the speed - yeah… I might have gotten a bit carried away with the drag reduction. I think making her a bit more draggy would solve the speed issue. She is bloody good fun to fly, though, and Im glad you like her (that was the plan 😁).

  • North American XF2J-2 Charger 2.7 years ago

    @LieutenantSOT Yeah! I looked at the XF15C to get ideas as to how the markings / colourscheme would look. The NATC was new to me so I googled it. I thought it would be perfect for a prototype.
