It’s not something you just take. It’s dependent on the plane’s center of mass, center of lift, and drag. It’s different on every plane @SubXTribe

  • P-51D-20 NA Mustang 5.5 years ago

Basically whatever makes the plane fly. It’s all the hidden wings, engines, air brakes, etc, @SubXTribe

  • P-51D-20 NA Mustang 5.5 years ago

Thank you! I can’t take credit for the flight, that was done by QingyuZhou @SubXTribe

  • P-51D-20 NA Mustang 5.5 years ago

Thanks for hosting this challenge, it really inspired me. Also thanks again for the tip about the trim, I remember asking you and you said that this used the same trim setup as your Stuka @BogdanX

  • P-51D-20 NA Mustang 5.5 years ago

    Lmao yep @ThePilotDude

  • P-51D-20 NA Mustang 5.5 years ago

    Thank you very much! @MercuryCorporation

  • P-51D-20 NA Mustang 5.5 years ago

Thanks for your continued support! It means a lot and it allowed me to complete this project @Diloph

  • Does SP simulate ground effect with wings? I can’t tell if it does or not and I’ve been wondering for years! 5.5 years ago

Andrew said it doesn’t, but you might be able to simulate it by attaching the wings to a rotator with an input that moves the wing a few degrees (trailing edge down, leading edge up) on an input like AltitudeAGL < insert half of wingspan

Why half, you may ask? Well because it’s a good rule of thumb that ground effect kicks when the altitude is less than or equal to the wingspan of one wing. Idk if this is true, but it’s what my dad told me and he’s a pilot

  • Submarine Challenge Announcement 5.5 years ago

I’d be happy to build something, but I don’t think I could ever get it function like an actual sub

  • P-51D-20 NA Mustang 5.5 years ago

I wouldn’t go that far, but thanks for the support! @QingyuZhou

  • Martin B-57 Canberra 5.5 years ago

Very nicely done! I don’t see enough of these on the site, and I think you did a great job re-creating it

  • Convair XB-53 5.5 years ago

    Very cool! Looks great

Did you see the tag? @jamesPLANESii

  • Scout Kea 5.5 years ago

Sounds great! I'll tag you on it @jamesPLANESii

  • Scout Kea 5.5 years ago

Would you be interested in taking some pictures of a project of mine? I would greatly appreciate it @jamesPLANESii

  • Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate 5.5 years ago

Awesome job! The details are great and very well done! Do you mind if I use this in a few screenshots with my “secret” project?

  • Lockheed P-38 Lightning GoldSquadron 5.5 years ago

    Nicely done!

  • Stork Island 5.5 years ago

Hey, I have a favor to ask. Would you be interested in taking screenshots of an upcoming project of mine? You're in game pictures always look so real, plus you have access to cool maps

  • [Teaser] Mayday!! MCAS is on! 5.5 years ago

Not for a while, I’ve run into a problem with my mustang @QingyuZhou

  • 757 Flight Deck 5.5 years ago

    I don't, I use a Mac@klm747klm747

  • 757 Flight Deck 5.5 years ago

I think I know, I just don't have a software to do it. I also tried once and I couldn't find the file @klm747klm747

  • 757 Flight Deck 5.5 years ago

Sweet! Speaking of, could you do some mass removing for me please? Ill tag you if you can @klm747klm747

  • 757 Flight Deck 5.5 years ago

Wow, you're really going all out! Make sure every part in the cockpit is calculate drag: false. This removes it from the physics calculations. In return, this causes much faster loading times and opens up more users to download. When drag is set to false, that part might as well not even be there, as far as the game is concerned

  • How do you make a plane drain fuel from drop tanks before other fuel stores? 5.5 years ago

Thats strange. Did you build the secondary tanks before the fuselage ones? Idk if the game drains the first fuel added or the last @rexzion

  • Funky Tree help 5.5 years ago

On that snake eye, how would one slow them down even more with the fins deployed? @ChisP

  • Drag points... just a random measurement number Jundroo made up, or an actual real life unit? 5.5 years ago

I've had the same thing bugging me for a while. From testing many planes, that number should fall in the 2000-3000 range for realistic performance

  • F-68N [Vietnam-Era Naval Attack Challenge] 5.5 years ago

    No problem! @unCANNY

  • New light attack aircraft coming soon [TEASER] 5.5 years ago

That’s a very interesting design! I would’ve never considered an auto gyro for military purposes. Anyway, it looks great! Tag me please

  • ANBO VIII 5.5 years ago

    I totally agree! @Bife

  • 757 Nose 5.5 years ago

Wow. I recommend using scaled magnets as gauges. You can paint part of it white and the other part black, giving the illusion of tick marks. I have an example if you want @klm747klm747

  • 757 Nose 5.5 years ago

Very nice and smooth! I cant wait to see what you do in the cockpit

  • Tupolev Project 509 5.5 years ago

Lol thats ok, don't worry about it @asteroidbook345

  • Tupolev Project 509 5.5 years ago

Hmm, good point. Does a code like Fire"insert weapon name" exist? @asteroidbook345

  • Tupolev Project 509 5.5 years ago

I know that, I just didn't know if there was a way to make a rotator move when that weapon is being fired. Say for a trigger mechanism in the cockpit? @asteroidbook345

  • Tupolev Project 509 5.5 years ago

What if the weapon has a specific name? Say "50 cal." @asteroidbook345

  • Tupolev Project 509 5.5 years ago

Oh, I don't know Russian planes that well. I know you're really good at funky trees, so if you don't mind me asking, do you know if there is a way to activate a rotator when a weapon is fired? @asteroidbook345

  • Tupolev Project 509 5.5 years ago

Awesome job! I like the blue paint, its very interesting for a jet plane like this

  • Brewster Buffalo 5.5 years ago

Haha yeah, fighter pilots are a different breed @Tang0five
