Thanks for letting us know. I just pushed an update that prevents users with very low points from posting inline links. Let me know if you notice anything broken! :D
@AndrrewGarrison Whoa, I have a doppelganger! I'm sure you're doing it in good fun, but it's clearly causing some confusion. I would really appreciate it if you could change them to something else. Thanks!
Amazing build! This feels excellent in VR. I did notice the bindings on the joystick are set so that the trigger cycles the targeting mode and button A fires the guns. If that wasn't intentional, let me know and I can tweak the XML on this post to switch those bindings.
Wind producing devices are not included. Leaf blowers and electrical fans are ideal, but we will make sure it is compatible with hand fans as well. @blackvultureaeroespace
It's always interesting to hear how other players are using the game. Personally, I really dislike the .splane files cluttering my Downloads folder. I prefer to just copy the URL. It's quick 'n easy: Alt+D, CTRL+C, CTRL+L.
The reason behind the new dialog is due to significant time spent dealing with the confusion from players about the .splane files over the years.
It doesn't work at all on Mac.
It often breaks on Windows because the user's file extensions are not properly set up.
Mobile users accidentally download them because they have their browser to Request the Desktop site.
Players think it contains the entire craft, so they think they can play offline as long as they download the .splane files ahead of time.
SP2 is coming soon which means there will be two apps fighting over the single file extension.
The dialog is much more clear for new players so they don't end up in those dead ends, confused, and emailing our support.
However, I am sensitive to our veteran creators and I understand your frustration, so I have just pushed a change that adds the Download .splane button to the new dialog.
@Karroc9522 In SP2 you'll be able to view Chad sitting in a seat, reaching out and grabbing cockpit controls, so having this reference should make it a lot easier to size cockpits correctly for VR.
@SBACERT Mod support for Android and iOS is something we want to take a closer look at next year when we're porting SP2 to mobile. I think we can do it but it will require using Lua for scripting instead of C#.
@Falkenwut Yep, those will be in the base game as well. Since the VR game will not have a building mode, all airplanes will need to be built in original SimplePlanes. These new parts will be included in the next SP update.
Thank you, everyone, for your support. The number of pre-orders we have already received really warms our wallets. I mean hearts. It makes me proud to have all of your cash. Support. I meant support.
I tried it out on my Quest 2 and this is a great build for VR. The only issue I have is the landing gear jitter on low-quality (mobile) physics. We are investigating if there's anything we can do to help with this problem, but one workaround is to add some additional deadweight mass to the wheel assemblies.
@EternalDarkness I just pushed an update to the site. Let me know if you see the negative seconds again. I agree with you, there's always things to improve on the site and in the game. It's an endless torrent of work and it's impossible to do it all so I try to make the best of what I can with our limited time and resources.
@Superliner350 @Thad23 That's exactly our plan, put the engine above water and connect a drive shaft to an underwater propeller and you have something that can work in water. I just need to figure out the physics on making the new prop simulation work underwater but it should be fairly straightforward.
@MrShenanigansSP If we're doing an update video, we try to release that with the update so we would be using player crafts uploading during the beta testing phase. Since this is a smaller update, we didn't make an update video for this one.
This is a great craft. I did notice the dash is z-fighting a lot. I believe this might be because you have two fuselage parts at the same position/size so when the game is rendering it has trouble deciding which to render and the result is that it flickers a lot.

Bring the funk!
+12Congrats on winning the tournament!

+11Weird, the water should be blue, not yellow! Don't you know anything about water?

+11@bipbip901 and I am second comment.
+11@BeastHunter He is part of the dev team and has been helping us with SR2 for a while now.
+11@Kittyhawk909 I appreciate your support of @MOPCKOEDNISHE and they are very talented, but we are not looking to grow the team at this time.
+11Plot twist: I am the monster! Not really. It's the ghost of Steve Jobs.
+11Wind producing devices are not included. Leaf blowers and electrical fans are ideal, but we will make sure it is compatible with hand fans as well. @blackvultureaeroespace
+11@RussianAS Who? Me? We are going to start working on the SP 1.8 update after the Christmas break.
+11@ACEPILOT109 Definitely not dead. We are going to start working on the 1.8 update again after the break.
+11Of course now that I'm looking into it, things appear to be working more smoothly today...

+10Nice job upgrading soldier289's build to include a new VR cockpit! Now I can fully enjoy soldier289's Lancer in VR.
+10@factorization20 Looks great! It is now curated.
+10@Soulless_Reaper We are working on the mobile betas and expect them to be released next week.

+10All thanks go to Nicky (@WNP78) for this update. He did all of the work and he even wrote the blog post! Nice work, Nicky!

+10Nice work! As an extra bonus, this appears to work well with SP 1.8.
+10Yep, I'm sorry about this. We do have the issue logged and we intend to fix it with the 1.8 update.
+10Thanks guys! Maybe someday I'll actually upload an airplane so you can laugh at my sad building skills!
+10That's very cool. Also, it's funny that they're both staring at the tiny laptop screen when there's a huge display directly in front of them.
+10Stunning! I swear I can smell the new car smell when I drive it too.
+9@NTH your comments on this post have been removed since they are off topic

+9@Simpleplanesgood99 I’m glad you are enjoying the game. Thanks for playing! :)
+9The way you used the logo here looks okay to me.
+9Still amazing. Nice video too.
+9Very nice build! The cockpit is borderline too small in VR, but I went ahead and curated it for VR because it is still very usable and a lot of fun.

+9@Lanc SP2 when, indeed.
+9I just want to make sure everyone has Aero Effect. Does everyone have Aero Effect on their mobile device yet?
+9@RussianAS Oh sure, we're working on caterpillars today, but today only.
+9Got it. Thanks! Now I can continue making codes.
+9RAILGUN!

+8@126 haha, I'm glad to hear it's working. Thanks for the kind words, but I am the one who broke it in the first place! 😬😅

+8@SomeSPGuyWhoLikesLore haha, if Maxwell isn't enough then another update surely won't be either!
