Some of you may have noticed already, but we recently added advertisements to the website. I know that everyone hates ads, and we do too, but server costs are our second highest expense (payroll being the most expensive). We actually spend more money renting servers than we do renting office space. We are experimenting with ads as a way to recover some of that cost.
Currently, the ads won't show up if you are logged in. They are only displayed to anonymous users. I've also spent some time trying to configure them so they aren't too overly obnoxious. We'll see how it goes. We're just experimenting at this point, so we're not sure if they are here to stay or not.
If you notice any inappropriate ads, please let me know and we'll try to disable those advertisers.
Maybe paid dlc like maps or something

I'm always logged in, so I luckily don't have to concern myself.
i feel these ads are very good and run very well. It is also great of you to keep up this server space, it makes the game 10000x better. thanks

Andrew I don't care about them. As long as they don't pop up in my face all of a sudden I'm good. Do what you need to do to keep things runnin'.

I read that your dad lost his father at the age of 13.

How does he feel about it, 50 years later ?
I lost my dad in 2013, because of a cancer, when I was 11. My dad was only 57.
And I just wanted to know what to expect... I know how it feels during the first years... But decades after, how does he handle it ?
I really don't know what will I feel, how will I feel it in half a century... Some advice from an old and wise man would be welcome.

and if ads are not shown to logged in players, i will log out atleast once a day then

I would 100% say to make the ads visible to all website users (so even when logged in) tis a small price to pay for a favorite game, but anything to support our favorite devs

yoo Andrew I'm sure most of the community's pretty okay with having ads even when logged in. You only get money from people's one time purchase of your game which I honestly don't think that you earn much from all that money
