Z-19 Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter “Black Whirlwind”

Brief Introduction

The Z-19 (code: Z-19, Chinese name: PILI-Fire 19) is a combat and reconnaissance helicopter, developed and manufactured by the Harbin Aircraft Manufacturing Company of AVIC and a helicopter research institution. It is an evolution of the Z-9W, featuring a tandem-cabin configuration, quadricopter rotors, a tail-mounted channel rotor, quadruple external weapon attachment points, and a tail landing gear configuration typical of combat helicopters. The prototype of the WZ-19 completed its initial flight successfully in July 2010.
